I have the same car in pearl white. Love the color, paint is fine, no issues with anything. But, the thing I dislike the most is how the back passenger compartment is second class compared to the front. The back seat lacks the striped material and and white stitching on the vinyl part, and the rear door panels lack the cloth insert and the white stitching on the arm rest. IDK why they didn't make the seats and the door panels match. To me, that bothers me the most about the car. I had the same issue with my 10th generation as well. Otherwise, I enjoy this car way better than the 10th gen, 9th gen, and the 8th gen. Yes, I've had one (or two) of each of those generations.
I got a red/black one. Some things I dislike are: 1. Idle stop can’t be permanently turned off. 2. There’s no cup holders in the back. 3. (Just my personal preference) there’s no place to store my glasses. 4. Don’t really like the black chrome finish on the dash, it’s reflective when the sun hits it. 5. Wish it had power seats.
just picked one up. only problem is road noise. but for older gens companies were selling kits. I'll pick one up when they become available for this gen.
We just got, ours last Saturday and love it. Came with the findlay package (tint, wheel locks, weather tech mats, clear vinyl on doors, bumpers, door handles, seat coat stain protection, laser tag vin number on 8 different places)we got the same color, metallic grey.once again honda ,blew it out of the park.
I'm a first time Honda owner. I didn't know that my salesman knew my personality and picked the 2023 Hatchback LX. I test drove it and it was ok. I rent cars all of the time, no biggie. Never researched a Honda. 2 hours later. I drove it off the lot. The first day or 2 was no biggie. So smooth, I always got sleepy while driving. Then I started reading up on the car and the love story began. The few gripes from 2022 must have gotten fixed for 2023. 3 months later, this car has really grown on me. My sound is excellent. Gas mileage excellent. Handling is super excellent. It loves to fly down hills, so I have to learn to back off a bit coming down a bridge. Most of all, I love rolling down all 4 windows remotely in this hot weather. Lunar silver metallic is fire to me. (1 small gripe. I have come out of a store/business and walked up to the wrong car 6 times. dumb me)
I totally agree with your review. The reasons you mention are primarily why I passed on buying one. Specifically the sound system. I thought the sound in the 10th gen accord sport was bad til I test drove this. Great review and on point
Nice vid , I currently rocking the 2020 civic sport , I haven’t decided if I should keep it after my lease is up or upgrade to an accord or look at other brands
This is dead on, the fuel economy has been my biggest gripe. My last car was an Elantra Sport with 201hp and it got slightly better fuel economy but was much quicker.
I have the black 2022 sport and I thought I was tripping or doing something wrong with my vehicle. My car has sooo many little scratches and it irriates my soul lol
I have the sonic gray version and I have so many little scratches too - but most of them are caused by a bad detail from a so called professional. The paint is way too soft on these Hondas.
@@wll1130 I didn’t buy mine to do performance mods. So I’m glad that’s not a huge issue for me. I wouldn’t mind trading to an si when the market normalizes some though. That I would tune etc
@@zstampe I'll be honest - I didn't consider performance mods on this vehicle until I noticed it's underwhelming power, especially 0-60, and what I consider a really poorly done tuning job by Honda.

Honda since is made in the USA with an Engine and transmission from INDIA has this civic generation very poor mileage. Same engine in the last generation I’m talking 1.5L that I owned without trying on a highway I got 38-40 miles per gallon. When I really tried I got 50 miles per gallon. After I got new 11 gen civic same ? engine 1.5L the best I can get with very hard trying is 32-34miles per gallon. It has to be done on purpose no other explanation. Paint job sucked on 10th gen also. Honda has a very poor paint job. Little sand will leave a mark on paint. It’s terrible because car will look like shit after 10 years of use. We buy Hondas because they are relatable and they last.
I disagree with the backup camera but road noise is WAY to loud and have you had any jerking when you accelerate too hard when trying to pass other people or should i get mine checked?
Backup cam sucks lol, especially at night. Road noise is awful, and the jerking is a problem especially when accelerating. At around 2k rpms on my 11th gen it loves to stutter and kick a little bit, it drives me crazy lol. Also when im trying to accelerate to pass someone the gas pedal likes to act like it doesn't work and won't accelerate anymore until i take my foot off the gas and throttle it again. Honda has some weird problems this time around with their 11th gen civics
I used some heat via a hair dryer and some fishing line to “saw” behind the emblems. Once they were off I cleaned the area with goo gone then waxed the area. No touch up needed
I was told by a salesmen at the dealership (so take it with a grain of salt like I did) that eco doesn’t mean it’s saving you gas. It’s something else but normal mode gives you the better MPG and to put it in sport when doing longer freeway/highway drives. Haven’t confirmed myself yet. Just got the car.
@@zstampe yea but whats the name of the color. Also, is the car fast enough? I gotta say, your taste is great, i would do the same exact to my car except adding the front down spoiler and side spoilers plus the vinvyl on the rear lights.
Had any issues with safety system censor warnings ( lane mitigation, cruise control, emergency braking, etc….). Basically everything that has to do with the censor that scans the road ?
I haven’t. I have had the cruise shut off a couple of times at random but lane keep assist kept working etc. if you shut the car off and turn it back on it goes away. But this has happened maybe 3-4 times since I got it. So seldom I forgot all about it until your comment ha. Are you having those issues? I have seen some talk on forums about it.
Yes , just this morning. Seeing these problems all over Honda CR-V, accords and civics. I’ve got 5,900 miles on it . I have the exact same model that you have . (Cruise control, lane assist, collision mitigation braking, road departure, auto high beam ). Are all what will not work. I even have a orange “brake system “ light that stays on as well. I’m sure also has to do with that system. Sitting at 50% oil life , I’ve not even changed the oil in it
@@zstampe ended up being the forward facing camera that failed. Camera on back order. They don’t know how long it could take to get in. Funny though , after they ran test on it and I got car back it’s been working fine. $ 950 camera . All covered under warranty thankfully
I have my 11th gen civic and i have a couple things to ask. First is about Bluetooth, it stutters about every 10 seconds, anyone else have that problem? its not a problem while using apple carplay. The second is about the cvt trans. Does anyone else get a little "kick" or "stutter" when accelerating and hitting about 2k rps? Every time without fail
These really seem like minor complaints; no reason to consider something else. Here's what I like: Paddle shifters make it fun to drive. It handles fairly well. It looks good inside and out. Here are my complaints: 1. Bluetooth with the infotainment system acts like a virus. I've had it turn on and take over calls while the car is off and parked in the garage while I'm standing in the back yard taking a call. It's nearly impossible to switch to a headset or handset after the call connects. I tried unpairing the shit but SURPRISE it re-pairs when you plug the phone in for Android auto. 2. No wireless Android Auto/Apple Car Play. Requires the cable. Also requires bluetooth connection. Ridiculous. 3. CVT transmission is garbage and will forever limit the modification and performance potential of the "sport" model. 4. The tuning on the vehicle out of the factory is also garbage. It's slow and non-responsive. It guzzles gas. I have yet to get anywhere near the stated gas mileage driving in ECO or Normal. I achieve 33-35 mpg/city driving in Sport mode all the time where I can control the CVT ratio. 5. Honda gimped the sport trim by not providing addon options for blind spot sensors or fog lights, etc. They could have used the same wiring harnesses with empty slots but didn't; they used different harnesses so that those options could never be added. 6. They didn't add any kind of cosmetic improvements other than the wheels. Why? They gimped everything else. A little spoiler action or some sideskirts really would have made the car stand out as at least looking sporty. I'll be trading up for an SI when I get the chance. The paddle shifters are fun enough to have convinced me that I need to own a manual vehicle once again.
Have you driven other CVTs? This one is great comparatively speaking. I don’t use Bluetooth so that’s good to know. I’ll try the sport mode thing! Overall I’m very happy with the car at the price point. Some of the gripes I didn’t mention I learned on the test drive etc. the gripes in this video are things I’ve learned after owning the car for the last 10k miles. Thanks for the comment btw
@@zstampe I haven't driven another CVT; I'm sure that Honda's version of the CVT transmission is just fine. I'm not a fan that they put it on a "sport" trim is all. Overall the car seems fine. But that's just the thing, it's just fine. I'm having a hard time figuring out why they've made the choices they did with this trim. I'd definitely recommend trying to drive it around like you would a manual just normally. I get way better average gas mileage. This is another thing that really puzzles me - it's gotta be a tuning issue and they just didn't do a good job of it.
My issue with the sport trim is they call it a sport. Sorry anything that makes 158hp does not deserve to be associated with the word sport. Not even with the ( HPD ) garb. Get the Ex then dress it up and now you can call it sportyish.
@@In-obscurity-n7j ex doesn’t have paddle shifters. Only 22 more hp too isnt much. I think people that have Miata’s that they use for auto cross etc would disagree with your statement about HP too.
I definitely experience torque steer on this car. The steering feels pretty loose to me and I definitely feel it pulling when there's power going to the wheels for accelleration.
@@zstampe the price in malaysia for RS version is 32k. the screen resolution also so so. but i agree with you bro the handling of this car super nice. speed for 170km/h is easily. i really like this car
@@zstampe looks amazing man! I just bought the 2022 civic sport same color and I love how yours looks. Thoughts on the HPD side skirts and rear underbody spoiler? Noticed you didn’t have them, not sure if you plan on adding later, or if you weren’t a fan of them
@@harris9257 I saw one with a sweet lip spoiler on the trunk and tinted tail lights that looked amazing. Sounds like you got a gem with the 6 speed too
