5 things Sniper Elite 3 does better than Sniper Elite 4 (which I hope to see in Sniper Elite 5) 

Many of the levels in Sniper Elite III are based off and named after real places in Northern Africa, places that were of some significance to the Africa Campaign. Tobruk, Halfaya Pass, Siwa Oasis, Kasserine Pass. I was a little bit impressed by this. In Sniper Elite 4, every location is fictitious. "The Isle of San Cellini, the village of Bitanti." It didn't necessarily hurt the game, but it was something I noticed.

I agree with the vehicle kill cams one. Call me a pyromaniac, but I love watching the bullet hit the fuel tank and then causing it to ignite.

Totally agree with your comments. Another little niggle I have is that it was much faster to search dead enemies for ammo etc in SE3. Seems to take ages in SE4 especially when you have just taken out an entire group.

For me the biggest one was the upgrade system. Not only were the upgrades getting ridiculously grindy but also there was never a drawback to any of them. It was always just a blanket improvement. As you pointed out the SE3 upgrade system always gave you a compromise. You can improve A but B will get worse which I think is much better. Obviously we do now know that the upgrade system in SE5 seems to be an even improved version of the SE3 mechanics.

I agree with everything, especially the glint and the weapons parts being collectables. In Italy there were Panthers in action against the Allies for the first time, and there were also a few Tigers in Sicily. In France we would have all types of German tanks, and there could also be StuGs, since those were the most numerous AFVs of the Wehrmacht. Also, armoured crews should have different uniforms than the infantry. Panzer and other motorized units had adapted uniforms, like the black panzer uniform and the shorter panzer jacket.

I'd like to see the enemies retain damage after death in SE5! Its really immersion breaking when you put a huge hole in a soldier's head, only to see them lay there perfectly intact!

I really like the maps of SE3, I love desert aesthetics in general so it just looks so nice to me.

SE4 Sniper glare was over the top, it was like the enemy sniper was saying "Helllloooo look at me I'm over here! Yoohoo!"

I always love it when they add good armoured vehicle variety and at least have Karl encounter 1 or 2 of one in the Sniper Elite series. Missed opportunity in SE4

I like your opinion on the sniper glint and how the snipers in SE 3 were more of a challenge. But if they stay focused on you like in the last game it's harder to get a new position while maintaining your ghost profile.

I went back to SEIII and was shocked at how much more challenging it was.

In sniper elite 3 the enemy vehicle (tank & halftrack) feels more harder to combat rather than enemy vehicle in sniper elite 4 that's why I love sniper elite 3 and also I miss sniper nest in sniper elite 3

The main thing I'd like to see with Sniper Elite 5 is a release date. Back in January 2020, Rebellion PR department Tweeted that we'd see videos on SE 5 in early summer.

A feature seldom addressed, and never rewarded, is the scope-shot! Putting a round right through his lens and into his eye, gives a massive amount of satisfaction and yet, that's all you're gonna get for that piece of sniper mastery!

Gosh...I have played 3 but I never knew about seeking for parts for upgrades. BUT I'm soo much into 4 (and looking forward to 5) that I'm not going back to 3 to test it out again. Thanks for the info though.

One other thing Sniper Elite III did better was the inclusion of the anti-tank rocket launchers as a weapon that can be equipped in the main menu. Plus, the Panzerschreck was a much better weapon than the Panzerfaust in the anti-tank role imo, having zero range drop when its rockets are fired.

4 was phenomenal but 3 was very good in its own right.

The upgrade system really bothered me in Sniper Elite 3. And not because of the mechanics, which actually may have been better, but I didn't like the fact, that for example, the stock influenced the magnification, and the colour of the scope changed stability. That's why I prefer the upgrade system in Sniper Elite 4

5 looks way more casual friendly and thats how games are going to be, 60 bucks for handholding more and more since gamers now have such a small attention span to what is happening around them, tho 5 looks great and i will get it but im thinking of hardest difficulty asap since it will probably be an easy game

I love the way the controller makes the gun clicking noise on the PS4 with a pistol silensor on sniper elite 3 when you reload.

I personally like sniper elite 3 more than 4 I loved the environment and looking for snipers was pretty fun

I'm not gonna lie, I actually didn't like the suppressors in SE4. They were rare if not nearly non-existent in wwii, and even then, they're not completely silent. I felt like it took from the difficulty of the game.

Only played 4, I have to give it to you on Sniper Scope glint and upgrades. Those sound really cool. All I want is the binoculars to have a setting where you can get range finding and variable zoom but not marked targets or seeing marked targets through walls. For some reason the binoclars difficulty settings are stuck between giving a casual player too much power and not enough power. No in-between. Difficulty options are the real magic Sniper Elite has so lets go nuts with tons of layers for them.

I think that SE4 is much better than SE3. Mechanics of SE4 are much better. I agree with your opinion too. There are many things that SE5 should improve. One thing that bothers me mostly is spinning of many multiplayer players. It's totally unrealistic. I don't believe that some sniper will spin on some roof top so that everyone can see him so that he can shoot everyone that aims at him. I could write a book about nonsense that's happening in multiplayer games. I really hope that SE5 will get rid of those mistakes.

with number five i think a dual system would be best if you do the challenges for the gold mastery skin it shows effort so i think slight bonuses to the base weapon would be nice but then mods also from game to game you could find

Hardened bullets in SE3 would be nice. More penetration would be cool when you are shooting extreme distances. Now you just ruin the helmet if you miss the face.

I agree on all points ... as a "veteran" of sniper elite (1-4 / 100%) and lover of "realism" and "hardcore/authentic plus" ... that makes me a horrible PvP Player, because i am too cautious and slow.. so most time i was not killed but got no kill as well ;D

They removed and fucked up a lot in 5 but also added a lot. Will we get a vid talking about some of the questionable decisions and what u think is an improvement and what isn’t?

I played Sniper 2 years ago and a few months ago, got into Sniper 4. I loved it! I bought a copy of Sniper 3 and I've been banging away at this one for a few weeks. It's a very fun game, but I've found that you can get overwhelmed by enemies a lot easier than Sniper 4. I haven't played Sniper 5 yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I would like to see a Sniper game set in the Pacific theater though; instead of hunting Germans and Italians, I wouldn't mind getting at some of the Japanese. I would like to see a Philipine freedom fighter doing some island hopping and jungle hunting to take out entrenched platoons. I also wouldn't mind some DLC involving Korean and Chinese scenarios centering around the Japanese internment camps and medical experiment labs. I think this would be a great addition to the franchise.

I am a little late to this video and your channel, but here's to hoping they bring back Flint and Steel. I know the Timed TNT kinda takes that place, but I like Flint and Steel by Dang-it!

I prefer the challengees for up greads as i have completed sniper elite 3 a lot of times yet i have never unlock a upgrade for my rifles but i have masted lods of rifles and secondary and pistols in sniper elite 4 in only a handful of time going thow the campaign. Apart from that i agree with the rest of you points

My thing I hope the bring in se5 if diffrent ammo based on guns cause not all sniper take the same ammo same with the side arms it would make you think on what to take on certain missions and make op weapons limited use on missions forcing you to use the environment or use weapons form enemies, and the ability to carry what you gad over form missions if the are back to back missions were you magical gain you own sniper you shaped or side arm back with the Sam e ammo

I can’t tell you how bloody awful it was searching for the enemy you killed that had the upgrade part, because shit hit the fan and your enemies died in different places than the collectible guide! I prefer 4’s weapon upgrade. It just seemed more fun to play, similar to strange brigade.

Agree on the aesthetic points: engine kill cams, more tank variety, enemy disembarking from wounded vehicles... SE4 sniper glint is a bit silly also and could be better reverted!😀 I wasn't a fan of SE3 upgrade system though, I found it messy and unsatisfying... although it may have been the lack of scope zeroing (the most impt. improvement to SE4 imo) that made it difficult to appreciate the effect of the upgrades in SE3. Regarding your complaint about not benefitting from the upgrades if you play on Authentic... I'm pretty sure I've always played SE4 on Custom settings... there you can max out any / all of the difficulty settings as you like, but still get the benefits of upgrades.

Weapon customization looks awesome in SE5. I think SE4's is kinda grindy and the authentic difficulty making the upgrades moot is argument enough that 3 and potentially 5's will be better

The reason we see different tanks in sniper elite 3 for what i assume is for historical accuracy but we see only a hand full of tanks since most of the panzer division was fighting the allies in sniper elite 4 alot of the tanks during the battle of italy were panzers mainly panzer 3 and afew panzer 4 plus during 1944 allied bombings crippled production so most of the tanks Germany had were panzer 3 and 4

It would not surprised me if little features and systems that were done better in three were simplified and sort of dumb down and expanded in some ways for a more mainstream audience to be more easily introduced into the game

I agree with your opinion but also in sniper elite III the killcams of soldiers were better made in my opinion because for example after shooting on the eyes the certain part of face went missing but in sniper elite 4 only the eye would be broken

I think another thing Rebellion does better is in Zombie Army 4. If the corpses have useful items on them, you can see whether it's health or ammunition from the symbol that floats over the body. In SE4 all you get is the hand symbol and, either have to search the body to find out what's on it or use your binoculars to scan them. It would save time if you were looking for a health pack if SE4 used similar symbols to that of ZA4. You could even have separate symbols for health, ammo and explosives. It would be a great help. I hope that Rebellion read the comments on your RU-vid channel - they should do, it has better SE4 content than their own channel!!

I agree with everything in this video but the one thing that irks me more than anything is sniper glint and this isn't just for sniper elite 4 but it goes with a majority of multiplayer games or first person shooters or even third person shooters that have sniper rifles they all now have glints now if I'm a multiplayer standpoint I can understand someone who has their eye on you you can see them from a distance but that kind of takes the fun away from it in my opinion what's the point of having a sniper when you have a giant flashlight mounted on any weapon you use whether it be a scope or ACOG

I have to agree. Even though I have SE4, I haven't yet played it due to some personal problems, such as my arthritis getting worse and my GF dying roughly at the time, and I want to play it, but I end up not. While I haven't played SE4, your descriptions are easily understood and I prefer the way SE3 handles them. As for why they didn't add these features into SE4, I'm going to hazard a guess that since SE4 was more open-world, I'm guessing they chose differently with SE4 in order to save time, but that's just a guess. BTW, I hate the idea of upgrade system in SE4. They did this with the Zombie Army 4, where you have to do certain things to upgrade weapons, but some of the upgrades make zero sense. In Zombie Army Trilogy, I had triple zoom or 2x Zoom right from the beginning, whereas in ZAT4, I have to upgrade the scope zoom beyond 1x zoom. WTF?!

i disagree on the scope glint. to me personally the snipers in se3 were very annoying just because of that tbh. yes you can spot snipers much faster in se4, but they also spot you faster. imo it's more fun like it is now. but how about for an option to switch between standard glint and realisic glint? completely optional like the throw away clip/magazine option in se4. would make everyone happy 🙂

1st Id like to know if theres a survival mode in SE5 dye happen to know BB? secondly if YOU want to go through the whole game on hard thats your choice but I hope they dont make it so you have to rob a particular npc just to get all the weapon upgrades it was bad that way IMO - still wouldnt be the end of the world

in my opinion SE3 graphics looks better than SE4 on my old xbox console. Now I have a more powerful xbox and I'm waiting for SE5.

I disagree with the weapon customisation system in sniper elite 3, I think the system is better in sniper elite 4, because its more simple, I think the system they had in sniper elite 3 was a bit to mutch.

How do you play on the hardest difficulty? i would never hit anything without aids.

One big thing you not talk about. I must say SE3 No Cross pvp was alot better then SE4. Same with tagging of pvp players.. can tag anyone the are close to a window in SE4.. that are really bad compare to SE3. Some maps you cant even use half of it because you not see the enemy at all in No Cross SE4.

shame that sniper elite 5 keep many of this step downs. yeah have a fluid gameplay and the invasion mode..but seems inferior in a way to sniper elite 3
