@@philiporrell2936 "fleeing"? Some are relocating to Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and yes, Texas. But there is no obsession with Texas among Californians
Ish I live in California and no one is obsessed with California. In fact, people are fleeing this state and moving to Texas or Idaho. People in Texas only care about liberal Californians moving to Texas for a better life, but then vote for liberals.
Amen!! One of the closest examples of modern day Spartans (smaller scale). Seriously, think about it. They made Santa Ana pause allowing more time for Houston to gather his forces.
My wife is from California , after having a Texas man she said it changed her life. Now she has boots and shorts everywhere we go. She cooks the best Mexican food now. Expects our boys to open doors for ladies. Our girls and boys go with daddy to the range. Everyone in the family uses words like yes sir, no ma’am, please and thank you to each other. Whataburger is once a week, bbq twice a week. And she said neighbors look out for each other.
@@EduardoLopez-nl5yb orale!! thank my man, yeah it’s pretty good in these parts. Hope all is well for you as well. Being in Texas is simplistic living. Love it
@@michelleweeks6735 Texans are extremely patriotic. It's just that in a contest of what they love more, Texas comes first. It's been that way since 1836. When the Alamo and Goliad boys died, Remember the Alamo and Remember Goliad became rallying cries throughout the "state." Folks took the Alamo sacrifice and the Goliad massacre to heart. Houston ordered the destruction of the Alamo, but Bowie decided to buy Houston time. Then Travis showed up and then Crockett.189 brave men stood off over 5,000 soldiers just to buy Houston more time to gather allies and fighters. They were the Spartans at Thermopylae and they are icons to us. The pride that that instills cannot be easily explained, because it's not just mentioned in a history book and then forgotten. It's everywhere you look in Texas. Every true Texan home has Texas flags on mugs, shirts, caps, towels, decals on cars, trucks, a Texas shaped clock or cookie tray or ash tray or cake pan. The cities and streets bear the names of those heroes. We have a legacy that we feel deep inside, a burning desire to win to overcome the odds against us, a never say die attitude mixed with an unhealthy dose of bring it on. When Xerxes demanded the Spartans lay down their weapons, Leonidas replied with "Come get!" When Santa Ana demanded the Alamo defenders surrender, they answered with a cannon blast at him. Texans have a very strong response to being ordered to back down. The phrase, "Or what?" comes to mind. Every time a true Texan righteously stands his ground and refuses to back up even an inch, makes him feel that much closer to being worthy of the sacrifice made by the men at the Alamo. They didn't back down and so we can't either (as long as we're in the right. I'm not talking about drunks and trouble seekers/bullies) You can push some people, you can't push a Texan, it's hard on your health.
OMFG Buc-ees is a beatiful, bright oasis in the vast, empty desert that is the crossing of Texas on I-10. If you have never visited, you must go. And plan on being there a while :)
He talks about BBQ but forgot about our Mexican food. I got into with a girl from New Mexico saying their Mex food was better than ours. Smdh. They make their menudo white. 🤮
I’m from the UK and when I visited Texas the people were warm, welcoming and all around lovely. I’ve personally never seen a state so patriotic. It’s was beautiful. And the food.......🤤🤤
Texas. The best country in the world. (The fact that so many people can't sense satire is depressing) Its funny because we were our own country first and its a running joke down here that nothing really changed and we still are. Yeesh...
Interesting 5 things Texans don't mess around about....and no mention of firearms...i mean we fought a country because they tried to take a small cannon. We gave em the finger and ran up a flag that said "Come and Take It"..
@@dontneedtoknow5836 Lol. Nahh dude, a true Texan knows that Texas always comes before family. Hell, Texas is family so by defending Texas you are defending family. Lol.
Shit I ain't even moved to 🇺🇸 yet and I already feel so much fucking love for Texas, if Mexicans try and take it "back", i'd fucking waving my "come and take it" flag and fight on Texas side no doubt P.S. I was born in Mexico 😂
I'M A 55 YEAR OLD TEXAS MAN and ain't to PROUD to say THANK YOU TO THE PEOPLE FROM TENNESSEE FOR RUNNING to the ALAMO... WE WILL NEVER FORGET 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I've been thinking about it for years, but I'm an Appalachia boy and I dunno if I could ever give up my mountains. I got family down there, visited a few times. I like the people and what y'all do with cows and smoke. But I drove way too long in a straight line without seeing nary a hill. Think I'll just keep visiting and giving y'all my vacation money.
Have to correct myself now. It finally came out that the CEO of Bluebell and other executives KNEW there was a contagion and covered it up, so it wouldn't hurt sales. Nope, can't trust Blue Bell, ever again.
There was a national taste test of regional ice cream brands. To keep things fair, only the vanilla flavor of each brand was tested. The results were obvious. WINNER, Blue Bell Vanilla Bean
Foreigners: where you from? Me: Texas Foreigner: I mean what country? Me: Texas Foreigner: I mean what part of the world you from? Me: for the last time TEXAS!!!!!
@@tanguman2 There was a joke I read in Reader's Digest..."Life in the United States" that I need to share with you. It fits this scenario perfectly! Here is the way I remember the story- "...A gentleman (from Texas) and his wife went to Brazil to teach literature for a year at a local University(I believe he was from A&M, but not sure). A student from the University came to meet them at the airport. He was there to take them to their new home in the downtown area of Brazil. As the student pulled the car into the driveway of the house that the couple would be staying in ...they noticed a message. The words: "Yankee, Go Home!" had been spray painted in large letters across the garage door. The college student was embarrassed, and profusely apologized for the hateful message. The Texan (with a kind smile) patted the student's shoulder and said: "Please don't worry about it another minute, son. We don't much like em' where we come from either."
When it comes to pronouncing Whataburger, you can easily determine if a person is a real Texan or not. We call it Water-burger & don't hear a problem with that!!
Omg that is so true when some one says What-A-Burger I ask what state they lived in before they moved to Texas I always called it water-burger and I always will
We also don’t want no Washington politicians telling us how to live. I suspected people from Florida will agree with that! Texas is a whole other country. The Republic of Texas.
As a Texan. I can confirm. Oh, and 6, guns. Seriously, do not question about the endless laws in Texas that consists of guns. You would encounter so many gun experts and enthusiasts, you will not be murdered by bullets, you will be murdered by calm soothing soft spoken voices of facts. That is not a joke, I'm one of those enthusiasts.
Yeah, and the El Paso shooter called bullshit on you, shot up your citizens and not one person in the Walmart was legally armed. Texans are full of shit.
@@kevinl5017 Considering that only about 5% of Texans have a License to Carry (though that percentage may have ticked up this year), and that El Paso is largely liberal (think Beto), I'm inclined to think that no one at that Walmart was carrying that day. In fact, there was even a news article about a woman who escaped the shooting, who had an LTC but left her gun at home. The idea of someone carrying and NOT acting, choosing to run instead, definitely seems UN-Texan to me.
I live in Georgia now. I got a job on the spot in an interview the other day because the manager was another Texan. Being from Texas is like instant networking. We're everywhere.
💜💯When I left Texas for a job on the northslope of Alaska. When I was picked up at the airport the guy asked me. Do you know what we call Texans up here? I said no what? He said , Boss :)
Texan folk should definitely come to Australia, although I think we might bounce off each other a little too much and stuff may break after a couple drinkies 😂
My husband and I traveled the world. We never filled out our nationality on visa applications as anything other than Texan. We were NEVER questioned or "corrected" at customs. Was told by a woman in Syria that other people from the US said that they were from America, but all Texans just stated the obvious.
@@lauriivey7801 Yep those foreigners know stuff outside themselves. Unfortunately it doesn't work the other way around as much. Hence the eternally embarrassing "Paris, (followed by) France"!!! :D
It’s even better when you go overseas and say that you’re from Texas. Everyone is kinda meh around Americans, but EVERYONE knows and loves Texans. When I got stationed in Japan and met the Japanese and told them I was from Texas, their eyes absolutely LIT UP. It also helps that my grandparents are actual cowboys.
Absolutely brilliant! 👍🏻🎅👍🏻🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Growing up, the saying was, "The top three denominations in Texas are: Baptist, Methodist (now, Catholic), and High School Football"!
" 'even chickens have ribs in Texas !! " we never laughed so hard we were told to go outdoors bro !! Your body might be in Fla. but your Heart is in Texas now my friend !! we might debate with each other here in Texas , but at a drop of a hat " We Stand United " . Texas Pride , our kids are born with it !! Much Luv from TEXAS , to you and family !!
Ya so I was talking to these group of girls from California one time and we got in a debate about food and one of them said don’t mess with her she is black and from Texas a double threat and I was like you damn right.😂😂
Go to any bar/pub in Europe. Wait until the evening is in full swing. Yell out loud "The stars at night are big and bright." The entire crowd will stomp their feet or clap their hands and sing the next line. Saw it in Amsterdam. Saw it in Frankfurt. Saw it in Berlin. Saw it in the Bavarian Alps. Its amazing.
Stop with the don't mess with bullshit, you Texans always talk big shit about everyone has a gun... apparently not in El Paso. lmfao, not one law abiding citizen had a gun in the Walmart and a mass shooter messed with Texas like a red headed stepchild.
When I took a trip to England I was asked where I'm from. I said "Texas". I was then informed that when Americans travel they usually say they are from America or the United States, but only folks from Texas say they are from Texas. I had no idea lol. Now I do.
Hopefully folks from California moving to Texas don't mess our state's government up like they did with cslifornia. We don't need to be paying for heroin addicts to get clean needles. Just get them help. Use your head folks.

Once when my wife and I were in a French Riviera restaurant the waiter asked us if we were from the United States. We said we were from Texas. The waiter said "That's better!". We received great service.
You thought “Don’t mess with Texas” was just a commercial slogan? NO NO NO! That applies to your WHOLE life now. You have the Yakuza, the Mafia, the Cartel, and then the Texas. There’s no escape. You in for LIFE! Any kids you have, IN FOR LIFE! Any stranger in you just decided to say hello to because you was feeling polite that day, IN FOR LIFE!
The El Paso shooter messed with Texas, where's all the big talkers and the "everyone in Texas is armed" shit talkers? One legally armed Texan could have saved a few lives. So I guess Texans do joke about some things.
TheRoadhammer379 a legally armed Texan wouldn’t have been in that store!! It’s a gun free zone, so illegal to carry firearms into that particular store!! You need to grow tf up and learn some respect!!!!
Of course there’s always the one person that simply cannot enjoy comedy. 🤷🏾♂️ To mention something so controversial just for attention though? On a comedic RU-vid video at that. SMH You gots to do better.
My aunt from California came to visit me and one of the first things she said to me was, (they sure dont let you forget you are in Texas). She said everything you see and hear has Texas in it.🤣😂🤣
I'm from Georgia and my husband is from Texas. Let's just say there are many restaurant that have been "banned" in our home due to " they can't cook a steak" and " their bbq is horrible!" So we do a lot of grilling at home! Lol
As it should be.... a nice stack of hickory, a nice stack of applewood & of course, a nice stack of mesquite. Now THATS good bbq. Get that propane bs outta here!
J Mit We have barbecues. We barbecue hamburger patties, steaks, brisket, sausage, pork, corn on the cob, etc.. When mentioning barbecue in Texas, it’s a GIVEN it’s either on a pit OR on a grill over open flames using charcoal briquettes, and wet wood chips for the smoking factor and the red ring around the meat, just under the “bark” of briskets, ribs, pork tenderloins, etc.. A cook out is a general term and can include cooking with propane. Any self respecting Texan knows that. Restaurants use pits, as most people can’t afford one in their backyard. Restaurants also use rotisserie’s. That’s just flame and wood. You’re splitting hairs that have already been split.
Texans are fascinated by how people from outside the state see us. I had the biggest grin on my face watching this video because it's 100% accurate. Josh Pray 'gets' Texas and Texans. Hats off to you, sir!
Josh mine buddy was stationed in Europe . He married a woman from Spain. When they had there first child he made sure that her newborn feet touch Texas dirt first .He snuck in a baggy of hill country soil in the hospital . He and his wife and children were all baptize in the Frio river !! TEXAS pride! Oh by the way TACOS ARE TACOS not burritos! U never ask for a breakfast burrito in TEXAS ITS A BREAKFAST TACOS
All over the world people know where Texas is located !!! Talked to a french lady on a plane. She asked where I was from . I said Texas. She said Ahhh Texas .Bang bang As she shot her finger guns. Then she asked if I had an oil well . Nope just 3 of them . Lol
Lol. You're still new here so I will let it slide but you forgot about Chili. Chili is some serious shit here, in some ways more important than BBQ. And it better not have beans.

From a native Texan & native Houstonian, you are exactly right because it is a state of mind and we do not play. I worked with someone who kept telling me how great Chicago was and I told him as far as I knew the roads back to Chi' town were still open and did he need any gas money. God Bless Texas
Except the body count in El Paso, guess y'all were joking when y'all claimed "everyone in Texas has a gun", apparently not in El Paso, lol. One law abiding citizen could have saved lives in the Walmart but no one was armed.
TheRoadhammer379 it was a gun free zone for one and not everyone wants to get involved in a gunfight when they are out shopping with their families genius. You would run like a bitch I’m sure of it. Quit going to every thread and posting the same lame shit.
I was in Mexico speaking spanish and a japanese tourist came up to me and said, your from Texas. I said yes, he said I could listen to you all day. He spoke perfect english.

My friend, you are so funny! It is a great thing to be a comedian who DOES NOT have to resort to cussing to get a laugh from his audience. May your channel and family prosper. Best wishes from a Native Texan.
We love our Texas! We could move anywhere in the country and after a great deal of research we moved to Texas. My family moved from Germany to Minnesota in the 1870’s and then 4 years ago we moved to the greatest state.....Texas! All hard working Patriots are welcome! Texan by the Grace of God!
My step grandmother is from South Dakota, but she tells people she got to Texas as fast as she could. 😃 Texas music and Tex-mex is another touchy area.
On the 9th day, Texans liked to boast that "everyone carries a gun" and on the 10th day, a lunatic in El Paso proved y'all were full of shit. One single law abiding citizen could have saved lives in the Walmart but apparently y'all were joking about everyone being armed, 🤦♂️
Uncivil Law moved to Texas a few months ago and claims to be a Texan. When I told him that he wasn't a Texan, he pulled out the US Constitution and refuted my claim. I told a group I belong to about his claim; they all laughed. Some of them are Texans and some of them have lived here long enough to know what it is to be a Texan. Funniest thing to me is that people generally don't ask me where I'm from when I travel. I don't wear a cowboy hat or boots. I don't drive a pickup. But everyone seems to know that I'm from Texas.
You are soooo right! I’m 4th generation Texan, but my mother was a Louisiana girl, so I got some love for our neighbors in Louisiana! I love your name!!!!! Mr. Pray, so cool.
The pride in my state of my state IS VERY REAL !!!! When your state became a state it was just land... When MY state became a state IT WAS ANOTHER COUNTRY !!!!!!!!
Love my Texas! I live in Colorado now, but when asked where I'm from, I always reply, "I'm from Texas y'all" It helps that I still have Texas plates on my truck..... That's right, you drive trucks in Texas!!!!
Had my Army Medic training in San Antonio. When you drive in Texas and come up behind another car, they will pull over on the shoulder, wave at you to pass. Have NEVER see this anywhere else. As far as San Antonio, if you ever go there, visit the "River Walk" It's fantastic. There are two states that I really miss and have lived in both. One is Colorado and the other, of course, is Texas!
