I’ve got one of these and as an entry level wheel they are fantastic. The FFB is strong for the price point and the buttons and features are unmatched. The display is very handy when changing settings between games quickly and has some useful features. As for people moaning about the plastic build, it’s actually built really well and feels premium. Most real steering wheels are made of plastic and rubber so it really isn’t bad. The pedals are spot on and have options to cater to preference. If you’re interested in the wheel take the plunge I don’t think you’d regret it. Plus looks good in the flesh. 👍🏻
@@ryqnvfxwhile I do not own either yet (pretty much set on buying t248 altho I still have the itch to go straight for the CSL DD), I have watched about a dozen reviews or comparisons and while the logitech seems to be built with nicer materials, the T248 seems to be much better at doing what it should primarily do - FFB. Also the TM comes with much much better pedals that are more likely to last longer and can also be regulated out of the box. The TM is also a lot quieter, which may not be important to everyone but it is for me. Plus I’ve heard G-hub is a nightmare
Hi, can you please make a video comparing this vs the T300RS since they are so similar in price and I am heavily debating between the two but am leaning toward the T300RS since they are overall simiar quality but the T300RS has quieter paddles.
@Hoang Hoang I'm looking for a wheel for purely speed racing, not rally or drift. Between the G923, and the T248, which would be more realistic? I don't want the G923 if the clunkiness and lack of torque don't provide as much of a clear path of information for the FFB to give me information from the road. What would you recommend for purely speed and information from the game than over all wheel quality?
To mute the resonance?... If it's the material itself resonating, I guess that could solve it, but isn't there like a mechanical click inside or something?... I don't know, I'll only get it tomorrow. - I just hope it won't be so loud that it annoys MYSELF with headphones on.
Had the t248 for a couple of month now the paddle shifters will eventually get the better of you cause of the volume especially on F1 games with lots of gear changes, fit small pieces of foam behind paddles as this is where most of the noise originates when releasing paddles after gear change,no need to open the unit or unscrew anything and has seriously improved this wheel!!!!👍
Thrustmaster need to come out with a cheaper handbrake option for console users, Drift/Rally spec.the Sparco one is too expensive especially if you need two for sequental as well.
@@OCRacing bro should I get the g29 at 200$? Or t248 at 279$?. First timer just getting my feet wet. Got the g29 ready for pick up, but wondering if I should go with t248. Main game would be gt7 of ps5
@@tommon3gg418 Hi. Mine has been broke after a few months of normal use. Also I have the issues with this wheel, like loose of feedback and random comebacks. Only for pedals i have really nice experience. It’s been sold by me in trade-in less than 150 bucks. I don’t recommend this one, it’s not worth it, look on the T300. Better than Fanatec for my case can’t see for now. For today my setup includes Fanatec CSL Elite + Base, CSL Steering Wheel BMW, CSL Pedals + LC and my favourite one SQ 1.5 Shifter. Playseat challenge holding all that stuff but can’t say this thing is strong enough.
@@tommon3gg418Hi. I’m truly confident that I did receive the answer for your question and cannot see it. Did my application just lugging or my answer have been removed?
Got this wheel and TH8A shifter some days ago, and as my first wheel, im definitely satisfied. I was kinda worried that the plastic might feel cheap, but it doesnt bother me at all, and i actually really like how the wheel feels in my hands. The shifters really are noisy though, so im very happy i have the TH8A shifter (even though that one is also pretty noisy when doing fast shifts). The FFB (in WRC 10) is enough to get a good workout when its set to full force, so i had to turn it down considerably to be able to drive properly. This wheel is however not marketed for serious sim racers who demand maximum realism, so if i had the money, i would of course have bought a premium DD wheel instead. As im not rich, im just happy im finally getting a racing sim rig. At least i ordered a NLR DD stand the other day, so i wont have to buy another rig when i want to upgrade to a DD wheel later on, and i also think im gonna stick with the TH8A shifter for a while. A handbreak is the first on my list of things to get, but for now, the left paddle shifter works reasonably good for that purpose.
How feel in comparation with the G29? I have the G29 and because the damm pedals, I need to change but I don't have money for a T300 or better, so I will buy the T248. The pedals looks muuuch better than G29... rigth now I'm using the clutch pedal like break for the "false contact fail" on sensores, and even more, If I press the break pedal, also activate the throttle... loool XD I was thinking in buy just a fanatec or thrustmasters pedals, but the adpators are not available on Amazon and I can't w8 2-3 weeks bcos I have a championship coming very soon :(
I consider the DFGT to be the definitive beginner wheel, as this would be a significant upgrade. It's sad seeing the horn button disappear on all the new wheels, when the DFGT had all the G923 controls, PLUS a horn button!
Thrustmaster announced earlier this year they had to raise prices. That's why this is $400 and not $329 or $350. Supply issues and costs are through the roof for some electronics. Other wheel makers are doing the same thing. Accuforce raised their price on their DD and offer less choices now. You have a bunch of errors in your video: The Xbox version is not even out yet, no clue what you are talking about. The pedals can be used stand alone into a USB, they sell an adapter. I have one that I bought years ago. You don't want to plug the shifter into the wheel base, it limits the shifter capabilities. This info is in your shifter manual. Read it. The shifters are not far too loud. People pay money for magnetic paddle mods to make them LOUDER. You obviously know nothing of this. You suggest buying a Fanatec CSL DD, except those aren't even shipping until July of 2022... There's one on eBay right now... for over $800... Sold my G29 after just 4 months of use. Couldn't stand the garbage FFB. Logitech is a downgrade in every way, for $250. Bought a Thrustmaster T500RS off eBay, for about the same price as the G29. The T500 is much better than my old TX/T300 I had. If you can find one, buy it. I almost bought the T248 but I already have a T3PA wheel set and I didn't want another set of pedals kicking around.
While you might be correct on everything (?) your tone makes it hard to take your comment serious. (For example I‘d like quite shifters to play at night with kids)
got the wheel on sale for 205 dollars tried out the g29 before the ffb on T248 feels stronger and the shifter paddles more snappy but louder and the pedals I would say are better just because a stronger break spring is included
Nice. - I just ordered the set for 213 Euros (which is just over 232 USD) and I feel like this can't be a bad deal. I know I definitely wouldn't spend 400 USD (or 350 Euros on the Thrustmaster site) on it, though. - Besides, this is my first wheel in over two decades, so... I'm coming from using gamepads, basically.
Hi, just got the T248 for playing with upcoming GT7 but right now, it doesn't feel great on GT Sport. It is not natively supported either by that game so it may be related, did you have the chance to compare with GT Sport?
@@LucasvH02 I didn't feel much details in general and for exemple, when you loose traction, all of the sudden there is a strong effet generated by the gear of the T248 that feels like something is wrong with the wheel the first time you ear. I also decided to compare to the G923 and ended returning them both.... ordered a Fanatec GT DD Pro just after.
Got my first wheel 2 weeks ago now I think. I got a t150 and i like it. Although I probably will get the g29 next time when my t150 kicks the bucket. The rubber on the wheel on the t150 can start to get uncomfortable, but other than that I like it.
are u guys saying that i extra pedal is 150$ more expensive? the T48 with just 2 pedals is around $250 who the hell is paying 400$ for this? nobody should. 200-250$ is perfect for this. no more
Well, having played with both the G923 and the T248 I have decided to buy myself the T248. My only concern is its FFB and what effects it will have on my desk, as I currently don't own a stand. Anyone using it with a table? Thanks 😄
i havent lost my PC yes, but i did turn down the FFb to like 50%, it shhakes a lot and if you hold on tight u will shake thhe table depending on size of your table/biceps, potentially causing ur PPC to crash to the ground in flames. Also, maybe it affected my hh key, its double typing now.
Same concern here. My desk is pretty heavy and strong but "loose" (just not that rigid) and it wobbles my monitor slightly when I type already, let alone with a motor hanging from the surface. - I'll see tomorrow if it judo-throws my desk or anything like that. But if it can be turned down, I'll just do that. I'll already be happy to finally have a wheel and pedal set after many years.
How about all these T248 with the dead motor ? i have one with broken motor and i saw a lot of people with the same problem :( If someone can tell me the model / reference of the motor i wil be great. Thanks.
How are you supposed to mount the wheel to a desk? I noticed that it looks like it has to be bolted into a wheel stand from the front rather than simply attaching to a desk like the Logitech wheels can.
lol i allready have a g29 and also have a t248 i like more the 248 the only thing i dont really like about it its the slow back rotation and the fill of the plastic (i did not buy the t248 i won it so ...)
Everyone out there talking all about performance but I wanna know how good grip of wheel is and functionality for truck driving damn it Just stop yapping about FFB and size and other bs (it's 280mm in diameter by the way like TMX PRO what's my current wheel) I wanna know how good you can make turns and shi with that with one hand and how many shi you can map on it cause it looks like you have more options for mapping unlike other wheels what's extremely useful for truck or farm sim...
@@OCRacing well judging by you made this video 2 years ago...do you still have this wheel? I heard that rim is half plastic and half smooth rubber/leather like texture and inner ring is plastic If you still habe wheel can you try how's grip on outer rim and let me know? Like I am really just looking for something with more grip to it and this wheel looks promising functionality wise as well fot trucking
For sheer price the T150 pro kicks the hell out of this wheel i got my T150pro for $150 and tried the t248 at my friend's i actually preferred the T150 pro no way would i class this as an upgrade to the T150 pro
“As I feel confident is throwing around in games and nothing breaking” Me after 6 months of owning and a gear shredding causing the ffb to stop completely:
I think he meant the outside build way more than the inside. - I doubt the gear-issue is from you throwing it around, but just something that went wrong during normal use.
This should answer your question. G29 and G923 are essentially the same: Logitech G923 VS Thrustmaster T248 | Which is the BEST Entry-Level Sim Racing Wheel?! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6ahzdwDK8OY.html
I'm reviewing this wheel and on the PC while playing Wreckfest the FFB and vibration are completely absent. Contacting tech support via their toll free directs me to contact via email so don't count on talking to someone on the phone. Wreckfest is listed as fully compatible.
Looks to much like toy...i got my self T300 Alcantara Ferrari edition and after a week i return it due to defect :'-D then bought new one again and this one is good so far. I love the bigger rim and if T248 has only 27cm it's to small...
@@Morej700 Assetto corsa @ 0:18 , Assetto corsa competizione @ 2:20 and Dirt Rally @ 3:29 from what I see (Last one might be WRC tho , I'm not too sure)
Hi. I’m debating about which wheel i should get. I can’t decide between the logitech g920 which costs 253 euros or the Logitech g923 wich costs 320 euros or this thrustmaster t248 which costs 299 euros. Or should I invest more and get the thrustmaster tx for 420 euros? Is the t248 for this price a good start? Or should I choose another wheel? I like your videos And I would appreciate your honesty. Kind regards from Germany
Good luck getting any one response as everyone is so love hate on every wheel. This is crap that is crap they are all crap unless you spend 800 bucks is the answers i get. Lol.. I just got this set up for 299 dollars and il see how it does. I guess it also depends on how hard core you are in the sim world, I got this for truck Sims and some lite racing, so I'm sure it will be more then I need. This wheel does have great reviews for the last 9 months now and Logitech has good reviews too, so I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of them if you are just starting out like me. Just roll the dice on whatever is the best deal and see where it takes you, the 2nd hand market is ok and you won't loose your ass if you sell later on. Good luck and hope you found something or better answers.
I’ve made a video comparing the G29 to the T150 where I give my thoughts on which one I would choose: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9Da5BoOFM2Q.html Unfortunately I’ve never used the T300 so I can’t comment on it :(
Hi ,as a beginner i am stuck between t248 and t300RS, and this will be my first fbb wheel. wheels have very close prices each other and i am confused which one better for me.Product durability is also very important, because these products are very expensive in my country. Give me an advice please. Thank you.
