I’ve enjoyed y’all‘s videos… My wife and I have a airstream Basecamp 20 X and have been camping often for the last year and a half. While in Saint Augustine (for our first trip there), we came at Anastasia State Park . Hopefully will run into y’all some other time… Safe travels! Rusty and Magda

Thanks for Watching! We were using a Ford Expedition, which is a HUGE SUV. Can tow 9000 lbs. The Intech sol Horizon is 4000 lbs GVWR, but the tongue weight is 650 lbs. It is very front heavy. So you have to be very careful about which vehicle you use to tow. Even though an SUV like the Toyota Highlander can tow 5000 lbs, the tongue capacity is 10% of your tow rating which is 500 lbs. It might do it (we have seen several people on facebook using a highlander) but the strain on your axel, tires, shocks and frame is beyond the recommended amount. Be careful!

Enjoyed your video, we are currently looking at Intech Terra. Being a fairly new RV company, are there any longevity concerns?

Thanks for watching. There is always a concern about longevity, but the build quality is exceptional. We are so happy with Intech! Just got back from a 8000 mile Trip to the NorthWest with our Horizon and it did exceptionally!

Does the fan make any noise? We like a noise maker to sleep.

Which fan are you referring too? The Max air fan does make some noise but it’s not real loud. The fan we installed in the bed area makes a good low level noise that helps sleep. The best is the AC fan. It will down out any noise.

Mattress upgrades are essential! We had an orthopedic mattress that we had bought for a previous camper, and when we traded for our current, the dealership gladly swapped out. The poor quality that comes with most trailer’s sleep space is not good marketing. Sleeping on the ground in a sac is for kids!

Nice job on the videos folks. And a great list (lists?) of improvements. We used to camp annually at Elkmont with our popup camper and absolutely loved it. I'm sure you will too. The last little bit into the campground is a bit windy (sinuous). We're looking forward to future videos. Also, would love to learn a little more about your lithium upgrade. Did you have to change anything else or were you able to just swap out the batteries in place? Ciao! Edit: Oh! You just mentioned at the end that you would have a video of the lithium installation! Great! Edit2: Fred looks great, we rented an Expedition once, that thing is a beast.

Thanks for watching! I'm sure we will enjoy it, I cant wait to get there. I will be filming the upgrade this weekend and will endeavor to get the video up quick. I am putting in 2 LifePo batteries so I will be installing them in parallel. The converter in our sol Horizon has a switch in it to tell it we are using Lithium so that part should be easy. Wiring the 2 batteries in parallel should be straight forward. It's mounting them so they don't move that will be the interesting part. Stay tuned for the video. We were disappointed that the Expedition didn't' work out. We are trying to sell it now. It runs great, but after so many issues we cannot trust our entire 7000 mile trip out west to it. So FRED it is.

Thank you for sharing the upgrades tip. Question regarding the new mattress. Any reason why you can't get a mattress over 10 inch thick? Just remove the 2 shelves on the 2 corners. As to adding the storage box on hitch. You may be overloading the tongue weight. Love Fred . Like the color alot. Best wishes in your new venture

Thanks for watching! As far as the mattress, Yes you could always go thicker, but then you are covering the power in that back corner as well. Its up to you, but we found 10" to be a good thickness and I like the shelves. As far as the tongue box, depending on what you put in you could overload the tongue, but on our Rover edition it has the rack up there for a reason and I think I light box with light equipment should work fine. Fred should be able to handle the little extra weight, but for now we decided to not get a box on the front rack. We LOVE Fred also.. the ride is great and we are soooooooo looking forward to our western trip coming soon!!
