Learn the locations of endura carrots and cook them up. These will help ensure that you don't suddenly run out out stamina. Endura carrots can be found at all fairy fountains, Mt. Satori and on a ledge near the center of the southern most part of the map. They will respawn every time a blood moon occurs so you can go back to the locations and get more of them. Hearty Durians are another thing that you should learn to farm early on. They can be found on Mt. Satori and a ledge just south of the tower in the rain forest area. There are more hearty durians on another ledge above the first one but you need Ravali's gale or a lot of stamina to get to the 2nd ledge. Cook up 5 hearty durians and you will get a meal that will give you a ton of hearts when you need them.
My first Divine Beast was Naboris. Didn’t plan it that way or know what I was getting into. I found all the bosses to be trivially easy (had Master Sword and good armor before doing any Beasts), but the hardest part of the game for me by far was that damn Naboris dungeon. They were all easy after that one. Naboris puzzle was the true last boss.
Same for my brother and I. The camel was the first animal dungeon we stumbled into and that damn puzzle took us about 2 hours to figure out working together. Took a long time to figure out how to move the camel parts even. Every other animal dungeon was too easy.
I 200% agree with you on prioritizing Stamina upgrades! Although, you DO know that there is such thing as Stamina potions right? You may want to be using them while gliding or climbing so ya don't plummet to your death.
Oh I thought you were supposed to 1. Clip through the Shrine of Resurrection 2. Clip through the Stasis shrine 3. BTB to Keh Namut 4. Clip through cryonis shrine 5. BTB to Oman Au
Hold down the whistle button and spam the sprint button = infinite stamina. Works on some angles for mountain climbing too. I climbed mountains I never thought possible with this trick and my stamina wasn't more than the full circle you start with.
Cleared the game there about 2 weeks ago.... what a grind.. I was to lazy to learn about the cooking so I always went into fights just bare all the time got wreaked loads.. but I done it!! Still can't find about 15 shrines though
I never had any involvement with Zelda as a kid. I had a commodore 64. I didn't play breath of the wild until about 3 or 4 months ago. I enjoyed it, it was beautifully made and impressive for a switch. But I was a bit overwhelmed with all the lore. By the time I completed it I felt like it was fun, but it wasn't hooked. I went straight into playing tears of the kingdom. And it was the plot twist there, about Zelda's fate, that finally grabbed me emotionally. After finishing it I immediately went back to play breath of the wild again as I realised belatedly, that i loved hyrule. We all get there in the end.
"When you are climbing a huge mountain and you are just about to reach the top.." Dude wasn't even halfway up that mountain you gotta know your limits. Hahaha.
Beedle is the best npc, always go to beedle when you sell anything. I've walked out of deals with him with actual thousands more rupees than I started with
I played this 2 years ago got over 100 hours and was only half way through the game if even that far I’m thinking about giving another go and playing the whole story through
How does one increase stamina & inventory ? I just started playing last week & this game is so fun !! (I’ll just google it lol) this video was useful to help remind me to do that !
you need to complete shrines, once you get four orbs you can cash them in at goddess statues. Also to increase inventory size you need to collect korok seeds and then cash those in to hestu
Never been a rpg fan them i played the Witcher 3 for 1,000 hours and loved it. I didn't think of like the childish cartoony Zelda now I'm working on 1,000 zelda hours lol
@@RadKatz I am very new to this sort of game and system. I've only just upgraded to the Switch from my SNES and original Gameboy 🤣 its the fighting that I need to learn here to get further. After those 1st 4 shrines I went to one and it teaches you how to do the moves and stuff and I kept dieing. I know I need to learn that to enable me to get better weapons. All in time!
@@byronwelch1288 Yeah during my first playthrough I wasn't so hot at fighting but in my second playthrough I made a tremendous effort to learn how to fight and it made the game that much more enjoyable!
You can survive a fall from any height when out of stamina by opening your paraglider just before reaching the ground. You’re allowed a split second of gliding without stamina as long as you haven’t already opened your paraglider since running out of stamina. Same with falling off a wall.
@@commentsforcomments3018 that’s no better than just dying and fast traveling back to where you were before you fell. At least with the half second of paragliding, you can survive the fall and use Revali’s gale to get back up much faster than having to wait through 2 loading screens.
@@8bitmags9 true.. but for me, usually if I'm having to diminish my stamina completely, it's because I failed at whatever I was trying to do haha so my frustration leads me to travel elsewhere to do something else.
@@commentsforcomments3018 different strokes then. I’d prefer to persevere, since I’d have already wasted food, arrows, durability, etc., and finish what I started. If, say, the Lynel near the tower in Necluda knocked me off the cliff, and I’m without stamina, I’m going to survive and climb my way back up.
I feel bad for people who did the Gerudo one first. That boss is super difficult with low hearts. (I know this from experience because I had to beat it for my friend)
One thing I've learned when playing botw is that you never truly have to fall to your death, or drown when you run out of stamina. Simply teleport to a nearby shrine when you find yourself stuck with no stamina. Easy.
@@dabmonstr7403 of course it's better.. You're not dying and seeing the game over screen. Who cares if the loading screen times are the same?.. atleast the hero remains alive!
1) Raid castle for OP weapons 2) Kill white maned lynels for more OP weapons 3) Use said OP weapons from horseback to wreck guardians and farm parts 4) Use parts for fully upgraded ancient armor 5) Take Ganon's butt
I guess I don't know what I am doing. - I thought the castle is accessible only after we had all four devine beasts zapping it - I somehow ended up at Akkala Lab after doing my first Devine Beast ( Ruta ) - Upon seeing parts required to make ancient armour and weapons, farming cores is the first thing I do after every blood moon. - I now have full ancient armour upraded to 3 stars, 5 large cores but haven't forged any ancient weapons - I have not yet do the other 3 devine beasts.
@@WhiteDove73-888 Not really, it allows you to make meals with the stats you want. When fighting lynels, I always use a 3 star defense potion cooked during a blood moon, same with farming guardians. you can make attack, defense, stealth, speed, stamina, fireproof, shockproof, freeze proof potions etc. I hated it at first but it allows you to make and carry what you want specifically, when you want it.
I found it way easier just to hoard food that regens stamina and grabbing heart containers than increasing stamina first. Personally consider getting stamina first to be highly overrated. Also you need 13 hearts at least for the master sword, unless you use the glitch with annoyingly specific camera angle.
I learned to cook a ton of stamina recovery foods so I could focus on Hearts for early Master Sword..I love how no matter what there is a work around for any play style.
Same here...never played a Zelda game before....Loving this game so far and was feeling like I was a bit behind the times starting so late!!! Glad to know I am not the only one!!!
Me too.. I was afraid I wasn’t going to enjoy it because I didn’t play any Zelda games before this. I bought this game and didn’t touch it for monthss. Now I’m obsessed as well
Personally, for beginning players, I recommend Mipha's grace first because we die a lot in this game. It cuts down the death ratio stopping you from restarting. Plus its the closest beast from kakariko village and hateno lab. And the enemies are at a low tier. Building zora armor takes no rupees. And map towers are easier to unlock. Its basically the beast with the least obstacles.
i do daruk coz if ur running through hyrule field and dont know how to deflect guardian lazers 3 daruk protection takes out one walking guardian and its just my fav and pretty fun
@@mrayrick7631 Medoh was my first. It's the easiest and it feels the mosic epic, especially the sky-archery sequence. It's great at introducing exactly how it should feel taking down the great beasts.
Heres one for you. For starting fires you dont have to worry specifically about flint. If you have chuchu jellys and you cook them (by setting them next to a fire) which makes fire jellys which can pretty much do the same thing as flint
This game has two parts: 1) playing fairly and facing difficulties the way you're supposed to. 2) shamelessly abusing Revali's Gale from the moment you exit Vah Medoh to the end credits.
@@Adeel808s Hey Bhai. I’m nearly at the end. But I’m travelling on my motorcycle right now throughout state. So decided to leave the Switch at home. It’s a good name, better than BOTW. Enjoy bro
The 2 times I've played through BotW's Main Story, I went and got Mipha's Grace first, for the additional Health it would give upon revival. That being said, the 2nd one I get is ALWAYS Revali's Gale.
I didn't grow up on Zelda but I absolutely fell in love with this game. And I'm glad I finally picked it up after all these years. This is for sure one of those things that are better late than never!
So true! I couldn't cook something decent if my life depended on it. When a game has cooking I actually dread trying it out, but thankfully BOTW's cooking is easy and actually enjoyable.
What I do right after the Great Plateau: 1) Climb all the way up to the top of Dueling Peaks and beat all of the shrines on them. The Shee Vaneer shrine is a great launching point to almost anywhere in the province. 2) Head straight over to Faron Tower and activate it. There is a ledge right next to it that is LOADED with hearty durians. One dish made of five hearty durians gives you 20 extra hearts, so I cook up a couple dozen to pad my health while I blitz stamina expansions. 3) Grab a flameblade, some wood, and a phrenic bow and dash over to Farosh's spring. Spam horn shards until you're blue in the face, and then you have money for days.
Wow, I can't believe I found someone who do the same game pattern as me. The Shee vaneer is on point. It can get you almost anywhere within the vicinity. I always prioritize faron tower for durians since the first I upgrade using orbs is my stamina
I jump off and head for Satori Mountain. It's loaded with every mushroom and plant in the game. There's a Claymore, which is the most powerful weapon you can get this early in the game. At night there's stal lizaflos that'll drop Lizal bows. If the Lord of the Mountain is there, then there's Blupees everywhere as well as rare bugs and critters. Oh, and there's a respawning diamond. After I clean the place out, I glide off, grab a horse and head for Dueling Peaks stable.
Heh, a bit of an update: the only reason I have anymore to farm dragon parts is for clothing upgrades. I have discovered the infinite rupee glitch, and it has changed my life
@@bedwarsnoob2480 The difficultly of the boss actually scales depending on which order you do them. Waterblight isn't the easiest, in fact he is pretty complicated compared to Fireblight or Windblight. You are just doing him first so he is always the easiest. I would suggest doing Thunderblight first as they are the hardest boss to face later on.
I'd like to add an honorable mention... Tame and register a horse, that makes travel so much easier. Yeah you miss a few things when you ride but if you have some shrines at the stables to warp to then you can investigate the area later.
The beginning of the video is accurate. I am not a huge single player game fan but decided to give BotW a try last week... I think I've played over 10 hours per day since then... Sometimes I just go to do one or two parts of the main story but then end up getting sidetracked by an armour upgrade or side quest where I spend 3 hours without realising hunting for Lizfano tails... Help 😢
You`re doing fine. In this game, the player has a lot of freedom to do whatever they want. Getting sidetracked by a minor thing is good for gaining skill and self confidence. When I was brand new to the game, I spent a lot of time farming the wild without doing any kind of quests or dungeons. I have zero regrets. It takes a while to get used to the basic mechanics. Once you get used to farming lizalfos, you can move one to shrines and side quests. Then you can go from there.
It’s miphas grace. Sorry this just really triggered me considering how I’ve played all of the Zelda games and I bought botw as soon as it came out hehe
@@hooni2461 I don't think anyone cares except you. I knew it was Mipha's grace, do I care if it's called "blessing" by someone else? "Oh no! @@CR-og5ho So pay 2x as much or deal with less stamina and learn how to figure out paths that don't require as much stamina? I think I'll get the 13 hearts first. It just makes more sense.
@@slungellife 40 rupees per container/vessel. Since the premise of the comment I replied to said you could max stamina, switch it to hearts when you got to the master sword, then switch it back...it actually comes to a bit more than 40 rupees. Just one full switch is 20 rupees per vessel to container. That's 200 rupees for one full switch. To switch it back, that's another 200 rupees. So in total, you run around with 3 hearts and max stamina, paying 400 rupees for your Master Sword, while I will run around with 13 hearts and 2.5 stamina wheels while choosing to only pay the 200 rupees once. It's a gameplay style choice, however, it's far easier to find less stamina costly routes than waste an extra 200 rupees needlessly.
I I love this game so much, recently started a second Playthrough to get ready for Age of Calamity. So on my first and second Playthrough,I suggest getting more hearts so you can get the Master Sword sooner. Just my opinion. Also, what other switch games do u play?
That's cool man, not a bad strat honestly and I've also played through mario odessy, 3d allstarts, pokemon lets go eve, sonic mania and a couple others. Also looking forward to Age of Calamity!
Thanks for the video!!:) When I was a kid and they had the N64 Zelda, I loved it. I always used to watch my cousins play from afar (they'd never let me play, and my parents wouldn't buy it for us:/ ). Well now as of 3 days ago I'm finally playing a Zelda game for the first time! BOTW is just beautiful so far...I'm probably not being efficient in how I'm playing though, I've literally been running around on my horse ChocoChip for hours finding interesting ways to kill myself lol
I got my copy back in July 2019 and I beat the basic game just last April. However it took me a few weeks to beat the Champions Ballad and I'm still working on trial of the sword
I have close to 700 hours for this game 😅 it never gets old, it’s just one of those games that you can keep playing without it getting boring. There’s always new things that you come across as well, it’s just a big game with too many things that you don’t notice right away when you first play it.
I cannot stress how much improving your stamina first is a must. Everyone whines "BuT tHe MaStEr SwOrD nEeDs 13 HeArTs" and I say "So??" There's plenty of Shrines to do to get them. And the Master Sword isn't even that great. BotW gave me waaaay too many new toys to play with.

Link with fully upgraded op gear: Remember that time when I died to stamina while gliding, and when I was climbing that mountain and stamina left me and when..... *Zelda cuts link off before he goes on all day*
A few things I've picked up from my replays: You really should do hearts first, since you need 13 to pull the master sword. That's either 40 shrines without doing any of the divine beasts, or minus 4 shrines off that tally for each divine beast you clear, to as little as 24 shrines. You really want that sword as quick as you can get it. You can always churn a bunch of crickets into potions if you really need to refill your stamina in the middle of a climb or something. When cooking, you can make meals that fully restore health or stamina by using a single ingredient that adds yellow hearts or stamina. Durians, radishes, anything that says Hearty will make a full-health dish by itself, and endura carrots or shrooms will similarly make full stamina refill dishes with a single ingredient. Apples and meat are good for roasting, as you can carry hundreds of roasted somethings in a single cooking inventory slot, which saves space and gives you a way to quickly heal chip damage so you can get back to using the master sword's throw attack. Always keep a hammer and a torch handy, you'll pretty much always need them for breaking rocks and boxes or lighting fires. The moment you get a fire weapon, replace the torch with that and keep it undamaged so you can use it to light fires anytime without needing to strike flint. Since utility weapons take up melee slots, always expand your melee weapon inventory first before the other inventories. Buying the stealth suit from Kakariko village is the best thing you can do with your money right off the bat. It's excellent to have on at all times, as you will always have opportunities to hunt and forage for potion fodder and meat that you can cook for profit. It also makes sneakstrikes very easy to pull off, letting you easily wipe out enemy encampments at night or knock out an isolated patrol without a fight. It's even better than the zora armor for catching fish since it's stealthier in the water, too. The four environmental hazards are heat, fire, cold, and lightning. Make it a high priority to have something on hand to deal with these hazards right away. The armor sets for these (desert voe, flamebreaker, snowquill, and rubber suit) should be sought out quickly, but elixers are worth having even after you pick up the clothes, as they allow you to wear the stealth suit in these inhospitable environments, making foraging much easier.
@@addisonreyna04 you probably already know by now, but there's an easier method glitch that was discovered to get master sword early. You just place a campfire near the pedestal and wait until morning. Then you constantly spam tap A after the screen loads in order to pick up the sword before it fully loads in. The master sword in that state acts like any item and can be picked up normally. This means you won't have the extra weapon slot but can be easily fixed once you get 13 hearts and pick up the now invisible sword. Watching link struggle to pick up air is hilarious though
@@SunnyHikikOmori is it worth it as a first time player to get the master sword right away or should I do it without the glitch? Although I’d rather save time on the grind part to obtain all those hearts to get the sword
I originally planned to get a bunch of stamina to start but found my way through the lost woods and got obsessed with getting the master sword but something I realized is you can just cook 1 endura item and it will fill your entire wheel plus the extra stamina
True. I play it the third time now and I never needed the extra stamina. Always got hearts - >Mastersword and then you can mow down the bosses. And after the great plateau I go straight to Hyrule castle to loot items
I'd still prefer stamina as you use less food that way. And using a campfire at the Master Sword can glitch to let you grab it without the required hearts.
Your list is good, however, I recommend adding one thing before doing Rito Village first. Get the full set of climbing gear, makes life so much easier, especially, in Rito Village. If you can upgrade it once before going to Rito Village, that would be a huge plus.
I disagree with the first tip. The game is challenging, but very playable still, without the stamina but it’s worth getting the Master Sword earlier. And you can exchange hearts for stamina later
Yeah master sword all day. I upgraded my stamina one time before I found out about the master sword and the master sword helps hella with the Gannon fights
Just got the game yesterday, so excited to play it 🥰 It has so many possibilities from what I've seen, and I love how it lets you solve a situation by your own way, there's no wrong way. This helped a lot 🥰 Another way I get arrows is letting an enemy throw the arrows at me while holding my shield, helped me get so many in early game
It can be. I did Zora's domain first simply because it was close to Kakariko Village and I ran into several Zora while I was just running around exploring. The Rito village is as far away as possible from where I've been so far. (Edit: I'm about to enter Rito village, I'm at the nearby stable.)
The game does sorta lead you there first. And the Champion power-ups are hard to rank best to worse. Some folks like Mipha's Grace, like if an enemy one-shots you, you still have the option to get away. Revali's Gale is good too, but the reasoning in the video seems kind of weak. It's fun though.
It is the first option, unless you make a point not to go through Zara’s domain first. Players are much better served to get miphas grace first, then get rivali’s gale. It’ll be much easier with so few hearts if you can be revived when you die.
Dude when I'm done with my graduation I'm totally gonna play this game again. I finished it five days ago and I miss it soo much. I literally came here to just see some of it again. I took all the time I needed and I didn't play this game constantly for two days but for like a week and almost every time I was able to. I fell in love with it and it was just so beautiful.
Zelda Breath of the Wild is a masterpiece, one of my all time favorite games, the sense of exploration is something I have never seen in any game before, the world, colorful art style, fun gameplay, relaxing music, it’s a real feel good game that I just enjoy playing, the sense of adventure and exploration is always a treat, a true masterpiece game 👏👏👏👏👏

I'm playing the game for the first time since last week, and I'm glad I've been doing everything you said hahaha. Very good video bro ❤️ underrated channel
@A B I wouldn't say the game encourages you to use new weapons, I say it forces you to do so. I appreciate that Breath of the Wild encourages experimentation, but it didn't need to limit you like it does. Limits are bad in an open world game and Breath of the Wild is an open-world game. Ok I get you can go straight to the final boss freely without restraints in that manner, but I don't find climbing a cliffside enjoyable when I have to pay attention to a meter that may deplete entirely and force me to fall off and then climb that cliff all over again. I know what good game design is to me like you know what good game design is to you-I have my preferences and you have yours there is no rule of what good game design is-it's all up to what works for you.
I feel you bro, I’m a little late to the Zelda franchise itself... I actually traded my Xbox one s a Wii U so I could play all the old Zelda games on the virtual console, and play new ones on my switch. It’s one of the best and funniest (and time consuming) games I’ve ever played. I honestly thought they could’ve made it a little harder especially the Gabon fight itself, but I got no complaints about this game. Also your channel and your content is amazing my man keep up the great work, I can’t wait to see the heights your channel goes to my brother👊🏼
Hey thank you so much! and I totally feel you man, the gannon fight was pretty easy, they do make some other pretty challenging zelda games so if you are a fan of this one you should for sure keep up your journey of playing them all!
After I beat this game I went out and bought Zelda ocarina of time, mejora’s mask, link to the last, link in between time, twilight princess, windwaker, phantom hourglass, and spirit tracks! Really love this series now :”)
You need 13 hearts to get the master sword, so if you start with upgrading stamina over hearts you delay getting the master sword. I went all hearts until I got the master sword and started investing heavily in stamina after that.
I still recommend upgrading your stamina over hearts, because you can always trade them for hearts at the Horned Statue in Hateno, get the sword, then trade them back for your stamina
@@rubberduckie9885 thats a stupid idea when links heart hp needs to be upgraded more than stamina especially whem starting from the beginning of the game nobody wants to keep fighting on 3 heart hp knowing that enemies will get harder as you explore different areas

If it’s your second run through of the game, it makes more sense to upgrade stamina in my opinion since you can better dodge and avoid enemies. Plus, getting stamina just makes the game way more fun and if you hit Faron early on, temporary hearts from the durians should get you through till you get enough shrines for hearts.

I agree with you so much! I was a switch late comer too(also zelda), I bought botw last year but I started playing last year. And I can say it might be the best game I've ever played.
Through the years I've heard lots of good things about zelda unfortunately I wasn't able to play neither Zelda Ocarina of time nor Mayora's mask until I was able to buy a N3ds myself and played both games, I fell in love with both games. A couple of weeks ago I managed to get a switch and bought Zelda BOTW, Bruh!!!! I'm loving it !!! Really glad I didn't spoiled myself with gameplays
In my opinion there are no things to do first or last. You can do every thing other than ganon and save him for last, or go straight to ganon (it’s possible) after you leave the great plateau. You do everything at your own pace, weather you are aware of it or not.
Same (kinda) though I did start out with playing Link to the Past playing Ocarina of Time on the n64 was such a special time for me. I was in high school at the time and would come home everyday and play that game. I probably played through it 6 times before moving onto Majora’s Mask.
I don't know what half of the comments mean. I can barely find where the Shrines are at the beginning of the game that the Old Man asks you to go to. All that work for a kid to get a dangerous paraglider?
It's not just an amazing Zelda game, it's an amazing all around game. There are like 2 minor complaints I have, but literally everything else is awesome and will suck you into the world
It sucks being late to the party, it doesn’t hinder the gameplay at all though. Sucks I could have been playing this 2 or 3 years ago, I simply didn’t know about it.
