This is my most used appliance in the kitchen other than the stove. We buy chicken thighs for $1 a lb and make our own ground chicken. I used it to mix my meatloaf. I put my ground beef in with taco seasoning and slowly ad a cup of water while mixing. When I fry my taco meat it crumbles up easily. I also have the juicer. I bought both of my daughter’s 5qt kitchen aids with meat grinders and scraper paddles for Christmas 2019.
I’ve looked at cost for most of the attachments, but I found that they were less than the mixer itself. If that’s not your case, then you must’ve bought your stand mixer at a BARGAIN! P.S. if you don’t mind my asking, just how much did you pay for yours?
This worked great for redoing the shower/bathtub of my kid's bathroom. ru-vid.comUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I didn't like the guide, so I took it off. I just used a fine tipped sharpie on the tile and followed that line. It does make a wet mess, and once I started looking like I wet myself I started wearing a towel and apron while cutting. The blade it came with worked great until we wore it out. It was better than the replacement one we bought. I tried looking for just their blade, but failed. Not really for larger tiles unless you stack stuff on either side to support the tiles. Anyway, would definitley buy again.
I had my Kitchenaid mixer for over 20 years, I use it daily. I bake bread 3 times a week less salt no additives. Takes me 5 minutes, less time than going to the store. At Christmas it's a life saver!
Just used it to knead two loaves of French herb bread this morning. I’m over eighty years old with RA in both wrists so actual kneading is not a good option for me. I hand knead just a bit in between risings to punch down and shape. Love my KitchenAid!
I really love using my KA and attachments, definitely worth the investment. the sheet cutter is a waste of time in my opinion. Most useful are grater, pasta rollers, grinder/mincer, sausage stuffer, fruit strainer, serialiser for peeling apples, ice cream maker. Most useless, citrus juicer (quicker by hand) fruit/veg sheeter (pointless), corn/coffee grinder (too small), can opener (It’s not that hard open a can and I never have so many I need a machine), ravioli maker and pasta shapes make (wastes more product and time than anything else ever). All attachments are only worth using if you are batch preparing otherwise the cleaning up takes longer than the time to manually prepare. You can often pick up KA attachments on preloved sites because people buy and then don’t know what to do with them! Grab some really great bargains.
But first coffee! That’s me errrrrryday!!! Thanks for the video ma’am! Great tips! I’m buying a mixer for pizza dough today and wanted to see what else it could do! Thanks. 🙏 😊
One of my favorite recipes to make is Sarku chicken. You mix your sliced chicken with soy sauce, sherry, garlic, pepper, little water and baking powder. Mix it with your dough hook on low for 30 minutes then stick it in the fridge over night. Then fry it in a pan or on a hibachi. Not sure what it does to the meat but man is it good!
OK KAREN....jk.. im sold i was going to buy a cheapo matic but all these attachments seem worth ESPECIALLY in 2020 were we have seen shelves completely empty for months. This machine is def a must have around the house. New sub here. THANK YOU!
Who the heck is Karen? LOL! Have fun with your new appliance, let me know if you have any questions. I have several videos going over the attachments that come with the KitchenAid.
Bit of a misleading title. Everyone's capable of looking up what the (somewhat pricey) attachments can do.... The video should have been more in line with the first tip on chicken.
We use ours to shred meat for chicken/beef & noodles, I mix up my meatloaf & the egg mixture to my egg bake (the wisk is perfect for this part, makes it nice & frothy), & for the attachments, the spiralizer is my favorite, I use it for Mom's apple crumble & it's wonderful. We have the sheet peeler that Hubby got for making roll-ups.
Shredded chicken salad: it worked super, just like you said. What a surprise when the warm chunks of chicken breast, pickles, celery, etc slowly mixed together. The paddle worked the meat around and apart; all the while, mixing the mayo and such into creamy sandwich mix. It was dump and go because the machine did all the work. It was actually fun, and I have never had better chicken salad. Thanks, cr
I was very disappointed in my Artisan stand mixer until i cam across a youtube video that showed the adjustment screw that you see when you tilt up the head - just a 3 degree twist of that screw and my mixer works SO much better! Can you maybe show this to folks in your next video? - I can't find the youtube posting that showed this - let's spread the word
Okay, I was interested in how to shred chicken. But you went from an empty bowl to a bowl full of shredded chicken. What do you need to do with the chicken first? Cook it? Cut it into chunks? Use only deboned chicken (breasts, boneless thighs)? Or can I just turn on my mixer with an empty bowl and shredded chicken will magically appear? I mean, give us a little more context please.
Hi Doug, I'm happy to answer those questions for you. This video is more of a quick overview with ideas. You can get a few more details in this video, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sF30YN5jP2Q.html at the 6:21 mark. It does still go fast though. Here's the details: This is for cooked boneless chicken that you'd like shredded. You can cook it on the grill, in the oven, crockpot, instant pot, or sous vide (or any other way you can think of). While the chicken is still warm, place it in the bowl with the paddle attachment and turn it to the stir setting. You can go up to speed 2. After a minute or two it will be nicely broken up. The chicken doesn't have to be hot, but it should still be warm, it works much easier that way. I can do up to about 4 breasts at a time. It will depend on the size of the bowl you're using. If you get it too full they might escape out of the bowl. ;-) I hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
Was wondering the same but that’s brilliant!! I had no idea you could do that & im making pulled pork today. Got my 7qt bowl last week & haven’t used it yet so guess what I’m doing tonight??!! 😁 Thanks for the tip! PS: I even saw someone mashed potatoes in it...game changer!!
@@vanessariley7159 I hope your pork turned out awesome, I did pork this week too. I just wanted to let you know I have another video that goes over all the things you can do with the paddle specifically. It's here>>> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sF30YN5jP2Q.html Thanks for watching!!
@@ArtFromMyTable just picked one up. I just bought my KA, so baking has been the #1 priority. But after 8 days of high carbs I think I need to go full veggie :-)
If you're looking for more info on the attachments it comes with, check out these two videos. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sF30YN5jP2Q.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JKLhUEw8sJQ.html I hope that helps! I know it's an investment and not one I take lightly. It's just one of my favorite things. I DO NOT work for KA, I just like it. :-)
Marcel from Montreal and many others who responded, Chellie has the information you wished for about uses for the basic equipment on her channel. "Creative Uses For Your Kitchen Aid Paddle Attachment" and "Creative uses for your KitchenAid Stand Mixer attachments {wire whip/dough hook}". She said she doesn't work for KA, she just likes to cook and enjoys her mixer.
Yes, you do cook the apples first. This video has a tutorial on just the applesauce recipe: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uF2om6-ciiI.html
I get it Taryn. For me it depends on the occasion, if I just need a little, it's easy to use a hand grater, but if I'm batch cooking, it's worth it. :-)
I have 2 KitchenAid Stand Mixers and I have the Slicer/Shredder Attachment for them! I just wish the Spiralizer and Veggie Sheet Cutter didn’t cost an arm and leg! And I shredded chicken in mines one time!
what a Classy Lady. i have 4 kitchenaid mixers that i refurbished one i won on Deal Dash for $6.00. i was going to make a Strawberry cheese cake but i forgot to buy vanilla extract.
Glad to see that you are using the Kitchenaid Classic model! So many people think it's a status symbol to own a pricier model which you don't need according to Consumer Reports! The CLASSIC model gets the best review! And, sorry folks, the money you save by buying this model will enable you to buy an attachment or two! Skip the Dunkin Donuts coffee and you will be able to afford an attachment! Or, better yet, ask for one for Christmas and the Christmas after. Sorry folks, but I was taught that if you can't say something nice, don't bother to say anything at all. Great job, my friend! Keep up the good work! I'd rather watch videos like these than watch the all the garbage on TV!
They’re definitely not cheap. I’ve found that I prefer to have one appliance that does many things rather than many appliances. Totally a personal preference. 😊
Andrea, mine is 20 years old and it has not yellowed at all. The video is an accurate color. That being said, I have no idea if they still make them the way they used to. I don't have any reason to believe they don't, but 20 years is a long time. And they offer so many different colors now. I just don't know if paint formula over the years would matter. Maybe other people will chime in with their experience.
Love your video! You show meat already shredded. My question is did you put in chicken breast whole then it shredded it or did you cut up the chicken breast? Once again thanks for the insightful video.
Hi, I put the chicken breasts in WHOLE. They are boneless, skinless, and it's important that you do it when they are warm. Cold chicken won't shred near as easy. Glad you liked the video!
Thank you Shelly! for sharing these tips! although the $$$ for these attachments, for me, is not worth the trouble it takes to set up and clean up,, you have inspired me to dust off and try out the disc slicers that came with my Kitchen Aid mixer. Love the recipes! thanks again!
I'm a big fan of using what you have too! It's always a balance... Do I want to use a gadget to make my cooking process quicker (then I spend more time cleaning) Or, do I want to take extra time cooking and have easier clean up. :-)
Great question! Here's a few ways: 1. You can get a splashgaurd for your stand mixer. KitchenAid makes one, it's just a plastic cover with a pour spout. It's not very expensive. I have one, but couldn't find it when I shot the video! My kids put it in the wrong spot, LOL! 2. Drape a towel over the top of the mixer, so it is covering the top part of the bowl too, that will catch splatter. 3. If you're making whipped cream, start it on lower and turn it up as it begins to thicken. Hope that helps!
I have finally decided to buy a kitchenAid and looking at reviews here on youtube. I just found another channel and the youtuber had so many negative things to say about it-- I was surprised because most people say they LOVE their kitchenAid. May I have your opinion on the KitchenAid. Do you have the Matte white? I love all the colors, but still considering getting a white one--but I see there are so many different whites. Matte white, plain white, white on white
Hi Bee, I fall into the LOVE my KitchenAid camp! Mine wipes up just fine, but it is an older model. It's about 20 years old. they certainly didn't have the choices then that they do now. I've never owned a 'matte' one, but maybe stay away from that if people are saying they are hard to clean, unless you really like it. I find that the mixer part of mine (not the bowl) really doesn't get very dirty. If you can get one with the splash guard, or add it, it's nice tool for keeping things from splattering.I know there tons of options, not only on color, but on size and model too. I hope that helps! Best of luck choosing!! No matter what you get, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
My kitchen aid isn’t tilt head and it’s having a burning smell lately. I don’t know what’s going on?? I have loved it for 7 years now it’s red and the bowl sits on pegs and it does fall off on occasion?
I thought I replied to this, but I don't see it showing up! I would definitely reach out to KitchenAid on this, that's not right. I've had mine for over 20 years.
@@veronicapatrick1011 how frustrating!! What did you decide to do? I had a Bosch mixer but because the KA was my go-to and I already had invested in attachments I just didn’t use it much. But maybe a consideration for your needs? I’ve heard good things. I’m so sorry about your experience.
I thought you meant things you can do with just the mixer - not having to buy multiple expensive extra attachments which is pretty obvious if you buy the grater attachment then you can then use it to grate!!! Misleading in my opinion.
This one certainly has gotten some mixed reviews. After this one, I created more videos showing ways to use the attachments that came with it. Check those out!
Thank you for your video. Mine is the stand mixer and love my KitchenAid and use it often. The problem with doing what you demonstrated is, the KitchenAid attachments are not affordable to many of us, so we use old school methods. My manual cheese grater is 50 years old, is in great condition. Even new, the manual graters and other tools are a mere fraction of the price and usually affordable for those who don't have deep KitchAid pockets. Just my opinion and not worth much, but I think KitchenAid needs to understand that.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It’s totally a personal preference. The attachments are definitely not cheap, but can be convenient. The video is just meant to show a sampling of other things that you can use it for. I don’t work for KA, I just love mine. I appreciate your opinion and especially the kindness you used in sharing it. 🙂 I’m working on more videos with just the attachments it comes with.
@@ArtFromMyTableI was going to purchase a Food Processor as my 30 year old one broke, and I loved that thing so much. The alternative and cheaper way now for me is to buy the attachments for my Kitchen Aid. Can’t wait to buy the grater and perhaps pasta maker….
