Load/Reload is the obvious one for most of us I guess! Took me over 10 years to finally start enjoying them for the masterpieces they are.

Stuff I loved but now hate: - Afraid of Heights by Billy Talent - Got Your Six by FFDP Stuff I hated but now Love: - Just all of MCR (didn't appreciate them until they split up) - amo by BMTH (don't) -

I remember Kerrang scoring Ænima 3/5 on release, and I very nearly swerved listening to it because, to me, 3/5 means “average but good in places”. It wasn’t until later in the year when all these artists were saying it was beyond incredible and it was their album of the year that I went in on it. How different my life would have been if I’d only gone by the Kerrang review. They did go back and re-review it on one of Tool’s later albums where they then gave it 5/5. Obvs.

I hated the last danzig album, but hell its really grown on my. Would love an episode on your tattoos btw.

I spent years thinking Deftones were terrible. Turned down seeing them at festivals several times. Couldn’t have been more wrong! Now I listen to Diamond Eyes every other week. I also remember thinking Fever by Bullet was incredible when it first came out 🤦🏻‍♂️

when I first heard Gallows and Grey Britain I didn't get it and I put Frank into the wrong box in my mind. One day I said fuck it, sat down and gave it a crack on Spotify and immediately realised what a very silly boy I was. Fuck it, might jam it now tbh those riffs are undeniable

for someone who reaaaaaally loves pop punk and a wide variety of it too, i didn't get into new found glory, fall out boy, and blink 182 until 2013 when i was in university. dont ask me why they never clicked with me before then, i have no idea

Grey Britain is a definite 10/10

Had Architects' The Here and Now in my top 10 of the year it came out. In my defence I was a teenager blindly in love with them but yeah, definitely not worth that. Other side of the spectrum, for a long time I thought Dillinger Escape Plan weren't very good; obviously it was actually just my ears that weren't very good.

If I had to pick a best 21st C power ballad I'd go for Moving On by Asking Alexandria. It would have been massive in the late 80s.

Wow, those last two should be enough to end a reviewers career!! Only joking! :) I think my biggest mistake was thinking Fear Factory would write a different riff at some point and I ended up with way too many FF albums before I stopped buying them.

I won't say but didn't understand the love of and that was The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me by Brand New.. Years later that is my favorite album OF ALL TIME!! I used to love Memphis May Fire and now I SOOOOOOO REGRET being in that scene!!

Revolution Revoluçion: not a 10 but bloody good

Mine would be the linkin park remix album reanimation. I did not care for it when it came out but upon rediscovering it in my 20s it breathed new life into Hybrid Theory for me.

Meliora has been a brilliant listen from the get go! Prequelle has taken time to grow on me.. wasn’t too keen at first other than song Rats

Biggest clunker for me was Metallica’s ‘Load’. I was a huge fan of everything that came before and Load, at the time, was too much of a departure for me to get my head around. But it grew and grew on me. I like it so much now that if I had to choose between it and the self-titled (Black Album), I would choose Load.

Behemoth 'The Satanist' didn't get it at all.....listened to it a few times still nothing. Got convinced to listen to their new album ILYAYD and still wasn't overly convinced.....then saw them live at Kentish Town Forum and loved every minute of it. Now I listen to them albums and have a little laugh coz there fantastic 🤘

I felt like such a poser when I got into punk because I didn't like black flag, bad brains, or sex pistols when I first tried their music.

When I first got into Avenged Sevenfold I listened to Waking the Fallen and thought it was rubbish, it's now my favourite Avenged album. I also used to really dislike Coheed and Cambria because I thought Claudio's voice was really annoying but now they're one of my favourite bands. When it comes to things I used to love but now hate, I loved Temper Temper by Bullet For My Valentine when it came out, fuck knows what was going through my head at the time, also used to really love Black Veil Brides, and that was before they even released In The End or Heart of Fire which are their only good songs.

I thought Iowa by Slipknot was absolutely unlistenable when I first heard it. Now I think it’s their best album and I’d give it a 10/10. Yeah.

In the late 90's I hated everything that was going on in metal. So when Slipknot came out behind the hype of being Ross Robinson's latest discovery I took one look at the promo pic and dismissed them instantly as another shitty gimmick nu-metal band. It was only years later when I rented the DISASTERPIECES live DVD when it suddenly all clicked for me.

if it makes you feel better, i would have given Ill Nino 10/10 at the time.... I saw them on tour with Machine Head, met them befor ethe show and got my picture taken and album cover signed..... Jeeeeeeeeesus!

So it pains me to say it as now the Menzingers are one of my absolute favourite bands. But when I originally heard On The Impossible Past I thought it was okay... Just okay. If I could go back and slap past me I would. I also told myself that I loved Uno! From Green Day when it came out. I thought that was 10/10. It is not 10/10 though is it? I was just being am eager beaver for new music. Still stand by that it has a few good tracks on it. But it's hardly a solid album. Ouch.

Mentally I know I did not like Metallica when I first heard them, I learned that I was very wrong LOL.

I went through a stage of liking 5fdp now I think they are the worst band to ever walk the face of the planet!
