I listened to the whole album last night and I completely agree with you when you explained that it made you feel how you did when you heard Vol. 3. Some songs and the interludes have an atmospheric gloom and doom to it that make you feel it but with being said other songs on this Album are straight up balls to the wall HEAVY! Great flow throughout the Album.

Solway Firth is enough for me to buy into the Iowa hype. The half time is so sexy on that song with the bends on the guitar adding the perfect tension release. I cant wait to hear the rest of the record!

As a fan since 2000, I can relate and absolutely connect when you describe how you felt when you first heard Vol.3, Beez, and the absolute EXCITEMENT I received hearing those curveballs for the first time. So hearing that this album is just as new and groundbreaking for them as that album was in 2004, your review and description has me entirely excited!

This is the first video I've seen of yours and I gotta say the way you review these songs is awesome and I completely agree with you. I cant wait to see where they go next I'm excited for the future of the knot. Vol.3 was my first LP by Slipknot. It's still to this day what I consider their best record, in terms of approachability and outright quality. It goes a million directions and does so confidently, the production of the album is amongst what I consider the very best. If this album can capture that kind of magic, I'd be stunned and over joyed.

F13thvoorhees i can see why, but thing is i concider every album very very similar to each other, but still very different from each other and that’s one of the many things why i really love slipknot, bcs they are still Slipknot, you can recognize it in every song, and still every new song is so different and has something what will be in your memoy for loooong time (for example Virus of life or wait and bleed in my case)

From what I’ve heard of the 3 tracks, I get elements of Iowa and All Hope Is Gone too. I think though this’ll be very different from what they’ve done already

I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time man. Great review as well! Fun fact/thought, Sid actually graduated from my alternative school (way before me sadly), but he was always in art class, and I heard he was really good. Makes sense to me, his new mask is so cool.

Gotta give this guy his dues. He has me fucking sold on this album when I've not dug them since Vol 3 diverted from my personal preference to Iowa style bleakness. I've come back around because Solway Firth actually had a rawness (vocally) that I've not heard from them in a looooong time. But this guy has me feeling for this new album. Can't wait now lol

I’ll always have Iowa and Self Titled at 1 and 2, but WANYK easily took the number 3 spot with Vol. 3 right behind. I love that we can hear more out of Craig and Sid, it’s heavy af, dark, experimental, and Orphan sounds a lot like Heretic 🤘
