Glad I checked out the comments before suggesting this. Since using Vaseline on my threads and caps, I no longer have trouble opening glue unless it is the very first time I open it.
Surely we have learned a lot and the recipe for beeswax with neutral oil is excellent and it is very simple and practical from Panama my most sincere greetings 👍👍😃
Great tips, thank you! I love your work and as an amateur hobbyist, I am constantly learning from your videos. Another tip I picked up along the way to avoid getting the lid of the glue pot stuck is to store the container upside down. Works like a charm for rubber cement.
Hey !
Great tips, how does Fiebings Aussie leather treatment compare to Saphir renovateur? I think its a similar product. Here in the US Fiebings is a lot cheaper. In the UK the french products may be cheaper. A question: your other video showed 1 to 5 beeswax to neatsfoot oil. This one you said 40% beeswax 60 % neatsfoot oil. Which one would you recommend?
Hi Scott, I'm pleased these tips are useful! I'm afraid I've never tried their Aussie leather treatment so I'm unable to help you in that. Regarding the recipe it really depends if you want a wax or a balm: the wax I make is 3 parts neatsfoot oil and 2 parts wax (60/40), and the balm is 5 parts neatsfoot oil and 1 part wax. Hope this helps :)
I really like your videos and have found a lot of useful info from them. But as a new leather crafter I'm not sure when you would use a leather balm vs wax vs Saphir renovateur?
