This video was great for me. I play Dante, Doom, Dormammu. And my buddy I play with plays Strange anchor on every team he plays. I have a lot of troubles with this match up. To the point I’m just snapping in strange right away every touch 😂. Any tips to win the Dorm vs. Strange match up?
@@KazPvp it's a hard match because he can put some real durable projectiles out and you cant punish with chaotic flame. You have to be a little more aggressive and play more of a neutral game of disrupting them from getting projectiles set up rather than trying to throw dark matters and pillars a lot.
I left a lot of this video because I was sticking to 5 tips/areas of discussion - few easy tips for you to add in: - Kill as often as you can with stalking flare, it gives you maximum frame advantage and time enough to get 2 spells, lay flame carpet and then get a 3rd spell. I recommend 1R2B for the meteors, drop them on top of the opponent and this gives you time to hard tag to a character who has good mixups, while having time to call an assist and mixup your opponent most of the time before they are released from the blockstun from meteors. - Lay Flame carpets and defend that position. If opponents try to jump into or over your carpets, teleport behind them. If they tried to jump into it the teleport can make them block it wrong, but also allow you to hit them this a high for an unblockable or an awkward to block moment. - jump mediums are excellent for checking airborne approaches, use them liberally, they are less committal than cr.M and st.M I'm sleepy now I'll add more if I remember later! Great breakdown, another good tip if you haven’t mentioned it before is that you can keep track of the amount of charges he has based on the size of the 🔥 on his head
Ammy w/Cold Star was always a fun combo to pair with Dorm and Point Magento. Cold Star gives mid screen pick up and funny THC follow-ups. Don't think it's his best assist by any stretch and definitely a lot of hard work, but so are characters like Dante (who low-key Jam Session might be Dorms best non-beam assist, and possibly best Partner overall not named Doom). I really like Ammy for Dorm (problem is that if you have an Ammy, then Doom/Ammy is just sooooo much better). But cold star is really good for runaway and for pressure, and her THC is great too as a win more thing of hitting their last char with THC xx XF
@@SpartanThroneTatsu seems like it should be really solid for Dorm, but Lariat just seems to do everything it wants and better. Point characters I could imagine working to varying degrees with Dorm/Akuma in the back would be: Wolvy Firebrand Magneto Spencer
@@sickabyss2 I agree, I'd Shuma and Firebrand to that list as well. Also your content is awesome, I still go back and enjoy some of your older Dorm vids from time to time. Special mention to Point Dorm with Morrigan in the middle. Bonus meter, complimentary keep away chip styles, TAC options, decent defensive DHC synergy. Probably Doom Missiles on the back for most optimal, but you'd have some spicy options like Shuma as well.
Hey!! Thanks for this video! I’ve been learning mvc3 more recently and I’m a big fan of Dorm, any tips for a Chun/Dorm team? I’ve been experimenting with flame carpet otg to chun lightning leg kicks to continue combos and maybe get a spell(idk) Thank you for the amazing content!
I've never played chun/dorm before, but I think legs will get you both an OTG and a spell before a relaunch. Who's your third?Chun would do really well with Missiles and Dorm likes that too.
@@flint9064 I'm super unfamiliar with Chun routes but she is flexible enough so I'm sure there are good routes incorporating Dark Hole /Missiles, the thing I would hope is that she can do her big fireball super and then DHC to stalking flare to get the 1d/1c extension. I also want to know can her legs assist extend for dorm at high HSD 😅🤔🤔
I main Chun and used Chun/Dorm in vanilla and early ultimate, just revisit it occasionally in the lab as a 4fun team. But yes, you can get spell charges with lighting leg assist mid combo, I have a few examples in the link below from another channel I've used, around the 1min 42sec mark. I always keep Hawkeye as my Anchor! I just won’t give him up lol 😂 But when I run Dorm I make that exception and run; Dorm x Strange x Spencer Dorm x Skrull x Deadpool
@@SpartanThroneDorm is already great at covering the entire screen. Horizontally and vertically. So Hawkeye isn’t needed. At that point it’s more of combo extensions. Spencer & strange have great chemistry so i allow them to be great together and let dorm do his thing. Occasionally, come in and help out with the extension of combos and setups. As far as making Dorm point, it just depends on how you’re going to play him. Aggressive x Counter x Keep away . So it just depends.
Lit video I was curious do you think you can do a Magneto guide at some point you have a lot of tech for the character but I think an encompassing tip video like this but for Magneto would be sick. Keep up the good work big dawg.
I certainly could. I'll pop it onto my list and see if I can think of a meaningful set of areas to focus on for him. Might not be so soon but I'll ponder it for sure!
How do you talk about fiery normals and showcase Dark Hole and Purification in the intro without talking about METEORS???? Clearly the solution to all your (Solo Doom) problems is to just dump more meteors on everything.
Might be weird to say, but despite the amazing and crazy stuff Dormammu has, I think he’s one of the more honest characters in this game. He has strong af strengths but also reasonable weaknesses like size, close range options, and okay movement.
Been neglecting this game because of street fighter 6. While i havent had my fill with the game, i am ready to get back into other games. And getting back into this this game, i decided i want to learn dorm. Not really a probelm, just a lot of ideas in my head involving dorm/vergil. Then i also like the idea of wolvy/dorm, as well as dorm/dante. I even like spencer/dorm (i almost want to use mag, spencer, dorm). Lots of ideas with dorm. Glad i came across this and your older videos as well.
@@riotv6 just about functional. Bolts is an interesting assist for Wolvy, you need to be very mindful that they can just crouch underneath them and play around that. Condition them to not push buttons, punish them for trying to jump, throw/cross them up if they try to sit still.
@@riotv6 he likes assists that can start combos or extend them, but needs 1 or possibly 2 neutral assists. Some assists he likes are: Plasma beam Mystic ray Rising Fang Tatsu Unibeam Jam session Daggers Dark Hole Rapid Slash Rocks Log Trap Spitfire Twice
I started getting into MvC3 last night, and just watched your newest tier list (mainly to get an idea of how each character works). Decided on Cap and Dormammu (no 3rd yet lol). This video could not have come out at a more perfect timing.

@@TechhToo Cap benefits a lot from a Beam, as he has a very horizontal focused approach with limited mobility in the air. And Dorm loves having a full screen beam to mix up with Dark Matter and Teleports. Doom, Magneto, Dr. Strange w/Bolts are the ones that most immediately come to mind. Doom is ez pz, good DHC synergy with near everyone, TACs, but some bad anchor match-ups. Magneto is solid all around, pretty good x-factor Anchor, good match ups, amazing beam that lets you relaunch. Dr Strange is probably the most volatile you could choose, but Bolts is absolutely amazing for both Cap and Dorm, giving both of them some insane combo extensions while providing horizontal control with a mix up window. Strange deffo wants x-factor and meter if it comes to him, as like Doom he also has some bad match ups, but similar to Vergil, if you are loaded on resources sometimes the ending just becomes a gimme because Strange does so much damage so quickly and can blow you up from anywhere if you hit a bad button.
Sparty, a team with Vergil/Doom/Dorm, which order do you think is the best? I know Dorm can be played as a point (Noel plays it for example), but as i do not play phoenix and he uses him just to build bars, i think mid/anchor is going to be the best option. But, would you play Dorm mid/Doom Anchor or Dorm anchor? Thanks!
