Congrats on starting your RU-vid page !!! I am at the other end of life - almost 64- and am thinking about starting my own RU-vid channel about decluttering one’s life of clutter- of stuff, relationships, “shoulds”, expectations. You are my inspiration!! What hit me about your video was the word “perfect”- you didn’t know yet how to create a “perfect” capsule wardrobe. Gosh, I have used “perfect” like a whip to try to beat myself into submission, if I could just do “it” perfectly, I would be enough. If I could just figure out the perfect plan, the perfect routine, the perfect exercise … then I could start. And then I would be good enough. I hate how I abused myself my whole life that I couldn’t enjoy life or be proud of my accomplishments unless they and me were perfect. I just subscribed to your channel and sharing on facebook!!! Congrats- enjoy the journey and adventure of life - it’s soo much better without the word “perfect” to beat yourself up with or stop you from trying. I am going to declutter that word, that expectation “perfect”. Perfect is a soul sucking, happiness sucking word or goal. There is no such thing as perfect. And there is no failure, it’s just information. We can’t know the perfect path, the perfect routine because with each step we take, we get new information that we need to use to advise us of the next step. Just take a step and everything else is figure-out-able!! Good enough to move on- GETMO

Thank you so much for your comment!! And thank you for sharing on Facebook!! I absolutely think you should start a YT channel too. I really like the idea of de-cluttering the word 'perfect'. I agree with everything you said. The first step is the most important step. I recently finished Marie Forleo's book Everything is Figure-out-able, and I repeat the phrase "everything is figure-out-able" to myself on a daily basis :)

Thanks for the tips - i've been trying to be more of a minimalist. Good to know that it's a journey and to be kind to myself. I do have a husband that likes to keep stuff, so any tips on that situation?

Hi, thank you for the comment. I would recommend for now, focusing on what personal de-cluttering you can do. It is a good reminder to know that we can only control ourselves, and not other people. I understand the frustration of convincing someone else to get onboard the minimalism train :) - I think it is awesome that you have taken steps towards de-cluttering. Leading by example is a great way to start! One step at a time.
