Have you traveled in the US? Although we have a wonderful woman (gluten free watchdog) who works hard to change laws, the laws pertaining to gluten free restaurants are still very slack. Restaurants can say they have GF options, but when digging to find out how they keep things Celiac safe, you find they have no protocol or knowledge of Celiac. Also, many restaurants will not let you bring your own food in, so when my friends want to go out to a certain restaurant, I am sitting there watching them eat. I eat before going and work hard to enjoy their company, and I do, but not being able to enjoy the food with them, well, it's just not very fun. I truly hate Celiac.
I have not! And to be honest, I feel very put off from everything I hear coming out of there 😂 but maybe New York one day, definitely would take more research than most
@@howtocoeliac I live in California + we have TONS of awesome, GF-specific places out here! Just don't try to get french fry's from a US Macker's lol ;)
Just got back from a holiday in a wonderful country where they just didn't get gf.. Multiple vomits and embarrassing moments etc despite excellent translation and much effort. Self catering next time.
