Steve DOES I have as well door sensor for my main door so if a person opens my door I put a false message spoken through the Alexa Dot to warn intruders that police on their way with a fire alarm sound. If person rings the bell it temporarily turns off the alarm for 20 minutes. Best thing of all it is not against my rental agreement because it is not a true house alarm system

I found the tips in your video very useful. I use a wheelchair and it’s good to know who’s at the door before I open it. I have an Echo show 8 linked to it but it doesn’t automatically show the camera when the Ring detects movement. Is there any way this may be achieved? Thanks.

Thank you for answering my question without even knowing it. I was trying to see is it worth it to purchase a chime but you made me realize, if I'm going to do that I might as well get something that I can play music from from time to time when I'm in the shower or something🤷🏾‍♂️

This is great. I wanted to know if any of the systems or parts of systems were interchangeable. I have wanted to get a ring doorbell but, I also wanted to get a camera for the garage area which faces a different street than my front door. So, I can see with the Arlo camera that this will be possible.

Thanks for your great videos ! Is there a way to set a different volume to the skill ? I have my echo dot set to go off with the ring doorbell, but had to raise the volume a lot to hear it. Now everything else echo related is too loud. Independant volume control would be nice.

#1 is it possible to select which alexa devices the ring notification goes to? I don't want them all to ring as some are in kids bedrooms.

I have a Ring Video Doorbell, but what sucks is I can't use it with my google home hub. Nest only works with Google home hub. I really hope they add the ability to have Ring Video Doorbell to work with Home Hub!

I have a ring doorbell and a Smart Things system. I can control my porch light switch by using Smart Things. I have, as suggested in your video, set up an IFTTT to turn on the porch light by ringing the doorbell. I am unable to find a way to set it up to turn off the switch after a few minutes, and also not to go on in daylight hours. How did you do that?

Hopefully they've fixed the volume on those things in the later versions. I remember being able to hear my neighbours 2 houses down the streets doorbell when someone rang it.

I’ve had our ring doorbell for over a year now it is really cool technology and the fact that I can talk to somebody through my phone to the ring doorbell is really cool. However it seems when somebody comes up and doesn’t ring a bell it seems like it takes a little too long for it to come on and by the time it comes on they’re leaving is there anyway that I could make it turn on faster on the motion sensor?

We don't have alexa or echo devices. We have smart phones tablets & a smart tv. Is there a way to connect our ring to all our smart devices? I also see we can utilize old phones as security cameras. Is there a way we can link it to out Ring Doorbell 2 app? Disabled & retired so another ring is not feasible currently. Thank you in advance.

That's now a old trick...most porch pirate's can now jam and black out those doorbell devices remotely 30 feet away.

I have no echo, etc., but my "ring" is set to record motion at my door area. Is there any app that can cause the motion to send a sound to my iphone? I never know if someone has tried to pick up a package until AFTER it has happened. They don't ring my doorbell, but their motion does cause my ring to record them. If I could get a notification sound on my iphone, I could react.

Trying to figure out how to connect the ring to my CCTV NVR?? Maybe a Raspberry pi set up to monitor live view and use the video out to my NVR, but don’t know where to start any help??
