You don't have to apologize for your English, man. There's no way in hell I'd be able to do the same video in German. Just the act of making a video in another language is a win! Besides, you did fine.

One hint I saw somewhere: do 6, 8, 10 or 12 sets with the same number or reps, then come back in day or two, once you can do 12 sets with the same reps increase by one. One thing I did - in additional to that - allow more time between sets, e.g. splitting them throughout the day, so with enough rest you can do more sets. Not sure if that is efficient, but that really increases number of sets and reps you can do, compared to 1-3 min brakes between sets.

@MichaSchulz

that is super individual. Start with 3 each and then increase over time if you are unsure. Assistance work can be pretty close to failure. RIR0-2

if I can do 16 pull ups, should I add weight? And, is the overload with weights the same? It is probably slower.
@simplycalisthenics1412

Try adding weight(10lbs for example) and apply the same principles as this vid, if you get the same number of reps for any given sets increase the weight and repeat the process

@mudantos2

I need a suggestion. I do calisthenics and use a training program that consists 4xrounds of pull ups, chin ups, rows and curls on pull day. The problem is that i use too much energy when doing pull ups and then i don't have the energy to do more then 4-6 chin ups. I'll try to explain. First round i can do 12 pull ups, then 6chin ups. Second round i do maybe 8pull ups and then maybe 4chin ups. Third round i can do maybe 5-6 pull ups and then maybe 3 chin ups and the final last round i do 3-4 pull ups and barely 1-2 chin ups. What would you change to maintain a reasonable number of reps thru the whole training. Lower the max reps of pull ups thru the rounds? Take more rest between exercises? Pls help
@MichaSchulz
@MichaSchulz 5 лет назад
do you do your 'rounds' in circles?
@mudantos2
@mudantos2 5 лет назад
@@MichaSchulz Yes. One round consists of pull ups, chin ups, rows and then curls. I do this for 4 rounds in total. Between excersises i do 1min rest and between rounds maybe 2-3min rest.

Marin Marin this is a bad workout plan... should be starting with the hardest exercise and then going to easier ones not in rounds... if you want to get stronger.

Higor Arraes ReVeN transfer what you learned bro, instead of increasing reps, increase weight & you can use same principles
@mateuszha5076
@mateuszha5076 6 лет назад
Exactly, as Micha said. This vid is so universal. Lets say You can do 5x5 pull ups +40kg. ( 5 5 5 5 5). To progress, add 2,5kg and You will prolly do like 5 5 5 4 4. When u get 5x5, add next 2,5kg. Unless that 2,5kg is too low to feel and it doesnt fk up your form, add more at a time.

My max pullup is 18 and I have been stuck on this number for 6 months already. But I must say that the program you suggested for progressive overload at the beginning of the video will not work for me and I think it won't work for many others either. If I do my max reps , it will be hours if not a whole day before I can do anything even close to my maximum reps. The muscles require quite a while to recover. This was also true when my max pull-ups was 8 - 10 reps. After doing 10 I would be too fatigue to go for a max close to this. Another thing I think is missing from this part of the video is an advise from you how long to rest between reps.
@TheNoloRiveraChannel
@TheNoloRiveraChannel 5 лет назад
@Ploni what program did you use to go from 8 to 18 reps?
@patrickvanmeter2922
@patrickvanmeter2922 5 лет назад
Everyone is different. Some people require more rest between sets and reps than others. Experiment with it for what works best for you. Rest as long as it takes to recover enough to complete the planned reps. Don't worry about how long it takes. As you get stronger, you can slowly shorten the rest periods. This worked for me.
