In this video Jack gives us 5 tips on how to prevent your watch from being stolen. As we have seen covered on other channels, watch theft has taken a dramatic upturn in the last few years. These ruthless criminals have devised methods of separating us from our watches. Luckily this can be prevented if you take a few simple steps to make sure you are using common sense.
In no way do we wish to discourage watch collecting, in fact its an extremely safe hobby if you know how to navigate. Using these tips will provide an added layer of protection to our everyday lives.

Sorry another tip, try to carry a cheap watch too (invicta is a good one), so if you feel unsecure, chance the watch you are wearing and the thieves Will get the cheap one. It has worked for me a couple of times

For anything over $10k strongly recommend watch insurance. If you can afford a $10k or higher watch you should be able to afford the insurance.

Great tips. Also don’t wear your expensive watches when flying. Guy lost his Rolex to thief on motorcycle, was being threatened with a gun.

He means dont go abroad with your expensive watch. I use my Grand Seiko watches when travelling.

I wonder where the threshold is for what they think is worth stealing. Would they go after a Tudor or Longines? Are they savvy enough to not be fooled by an homage?

Good question. We think that wearing a homage can be just as risky because the thief may think you have the real thing. Some lesser known brands may be a bit safer to wear.

Tudors are shitters and thieves dont care about Longines (lovely watches😊). No thief will bother unless its a mugging and you are in a blind alley. Why would you be there?

Had my Jeweler engrave this on the inside the back of my Datejust with black diamond dial/Fluted ... If not (My Name) Watch is stolen Would never sell - Reward (My Number) (My Email) Guy got in my face, another guy pretended to break it up, watch smoothly taken off wrist. 3 days later a Jeweler called me and said "Saw the engraving inside the Rolex, was it stolen?" I said yes! And told him to call the cops, he did and I drove three cities over to get it back. He refused the reward.
