Between a mini split and a VRF, how do you decide as an end user, other than cost? The installers in my area (San Jose, CA) speak highly of the ease of installing and servicing VRF systems. And because there is only one pair of pipes going to inside of building, the installation looks much cleaner. But other than that, I don’t know how one system offers better experience for an end user. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
VRF systems allow for the separate air handlers to run both heat and cool simultaneously. Standard mini splits can only have all handlers do cooling or all do heating, no mixture of both.
Depends on who you have do it....Most companies will charge 35k for a job like this. We sold this job for 18k. They would have spent much more to try and install two systems here to cover both top and bottom floors. the current system they have only covered the top floor and did so very poorly....The real question is not how much more will cost but rather how much will it save over the lifespan of say 20 years? and while saving all that money how much better will your comfort be?
I'm planning out a install on a 3200 sqf home in Colorado mountains. Right now it's all baseboard heat. I'm planning on keeping the baseboard as a backup. Do you recommend zones in small bathrooms it just keep the doors open?
@@hijinks21 use this link and have someone come give you some on-site feedback...."elite" is highest rated Diamond contractor. "preferred" is next, and then diamond is entry level. Higher the level, the more knowlegable... www.mitsubishicomfort.com/get-started/contractors
no way possible the equipment and everything needed will cost 6k, not even if you ordered it off the cheap website with only 5 year warranty. You would still be into it 12-14k....installed, im at 17-19k, but ive seen bids for 40k on 7 zones before. Best to contact someone local and find out as i dont live in NY or anywhere close. Than come back and repost that bid so others can see....Goodluck
Literally having my 8 zone Mitsubishi system installed as I write this in upstate NY. for two Mitsubishi hyperheat 48,000 BTU condensers and 7 9000 btu heads plus a single 12k btu head, all said and done 37k. granted this is a massive system and like i said 2 of the biggest condensers Mitsubishi makes. Mitsubishi is the brand you want in NY, it is the best in cold weather, don't even look at other brands. it's an old farm house and no duct work so a ductless system is really the only way im going to get heat in every room. as the old adage goes, You can have it done right You can have it done fast You can have it done cheap pick two.
