Go there at least twice a year. Gettysburg Campground had become our go to. We don't get sewer and just dump when we leave. They also have a honey wagon for $10. Some good tips. We had 10 ancestors who fought there and have located all there regiments on the field. Another suggestion for there is visit sites about the locals. Amazing what they went through. In fact Adams County is opening a new museum Beyond the Battle in April 23. You will have to go back.

Thanks so much for watching and sharing your story about your ancestors. That's cool that you have located their regiments.

We took our grandkids to Gettysburg last year and made all of the typical-tourist mistakes which included rushing through the site. Next time, I’ll make sure that we follow your advice. I especially liked the map tips and what could be better than finishing it off with fish tacos and beer. :-). Thanks for another great video.

Thanks for watching! We love history and Gettysburg is an amazing place. Antietam is also well worth the visit.

Great tips! Of course as a Texan I focused in on Hood's Texas brigade who fought fiercely on Day 2 along the Union's left flank near Little Round Top and Devil's den. To my knowledge they did not face the Vermonters on Day 3 during Pickett's charge. I guess we Texans and Vermonters can still be friends! Great video!

Thanks for watching! Of course, Texas and Vermont also share the distinction of being separate nations prior to being a state (Hawaii being the other).

Thanks for watching and the suggestion. We'll certainly keep that in mind as I would find the WWII encampment very interesting.

I bought a book by Elijah Hunt Rhodes about 2 years ago - still haven't read it. I am just not much of a reader. But I did see the movie numerous times. Favorite site? The Angle.
@LuvSubbin
@LuvSubbin Год назад
Thanks for watching! Gettysburg is amazing. The Angle is our favorite place as well for that is where the Vermont Regiments distinguished themselves against the Confederate Charge.

I love Gettysburg. Not sure what would be my favorite part of the battlefield, maybe the Devil’s Den. Safe travels

Thanks for watching! We left the bikes behind to make room for our portable washing machine. We have had bikes at Gettysburg before and they are great for touring.

Eisenhower had ZERO to do with Gettysburg. It happened 75 years before his time- sorry.
@LuvSubbin
@LuvSubbin 10 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching but respectfully, I have no idea what you are talking about. I am well aware of Eisenhower's place in history. However, his post war home was in Gettysburg and is historically significant as he hosted a variety of diplomats there. It was the only home he ever owned. It is an excellent National Historic Site and is often overlooked. I hope our video will cause a least one person to go there and learn more.
