Hey? I had a question. I live in Delaware where you give 60 days notice to move out. I’m currently on a month to month after being on a lease for 6 years in this unit. On the 7th of this month I wrote this email to the leasing office, Hello, I Would Like To Submit My Notice To Terminate My Month To Month Under Del. Code Ann. tit. 25, §§ 5106, 5107. The New Neighbors Upstairs Are Really Making My Stay Uncomfortable With Very Loud Speakers! I’ve Never Had This Issue With Previous Tenants. I Was Initially Going To Submit My Notice In July But I Want To Submit It Now. I Feel Very Afraid Of My Upstairs Neighbors & Wouldn’t Want Them To Know That I Mentioned They Blast Music So Loud My Walls Vibrate At Midnight. I Have To Now Sleep With Earphones. They wrote me back saying I should leave in February instead of March and said that they have a tenant moving in here and the reason I should leave in February is because I have never made a complaint before. I’m not prepared to leave in February but made plans to leave in March. Isn’t this illegal? What can I do? They say my move out date is February 28th.
