Just to recap: Normally the voltage comes from the USB port over the OTG cable but if you want to use the white connector (AV port) you must supply the 5vdc from an external source such as a battery pack or UBEC. See this video for more detail on the AV port:

So it's a OTG Video Receiver that can scan 150 channels of 5.8 GHz FPV frequencies.

You're the best Dave💖💖💖After "testing" the Rx unit for about 2 years... I must say it's a great product. Even with the stock antenna. My Tx antenna is the clover leaf type. IMHO the transmitting antenna is most important

I wonder if they have made any improvements in the video resolution over the last 2 years. On my PC and Mobile devices the video look pixelated compared to an analog monitor.

The new moniker (you taught me a new word) is much easier see I think. It also lends itself to becoming a sticker or nut-ball plane :-) That's my next project, starting with examining the good ROTG (black) and hopefully verifying the placement of the chip. Maybe I should make a video on How I fixed my ROTGut from China. Eachine if you're reading this please fire your quality control department... Oh wait, do you even have one?

I was thinking more outside the box. Like retrofitting an older car and using FPV cameras and this receiver for (front, side, rear view). Or inexpensive home security monitoring.

How do you change channels? Everything I can find says these automatically lock on to the strongest signal, but what if you need to view a different feed?

To move to the next frequency just short press the button. The ROTG02 has two buttons so you can go forward and backward through the detected frequencies where as the ROTG01 only has the forward direction.

I have the black one whatever it’s called. The reception on it is horrible. Even with the best antennas. Also even at close range video feed on gofpv is grainy as heck. There are way better receivers out there just cost a lot more. It doesn’t matter anymore to me since I’m being run out of the hobby by my local parks. I don’t drive and only places I can fly are parks and they no longer allow us to fly. Been fun while it lasted.

So sorry to hear about your predicament with the local parks. Our local parks and rec actually provides and maintains our RC field (mowing and such) and our club provides them with proof of AMA insurance. They also give us parks and rec cards for permission to use the park. So far it has worked out great but with all the anti-drone propaganda you never know what might happen. Hang in there and I hope you get something worked out.

Yes I decided to re-brand and use my name melded with RC. I kept the Productions for uniqueness because there are other Dave Merc's on YT. Change is hard but I'm giving it a shot.
