Best way to keep your tools from getting hot is having two of the same clipper and trimmer. Just do half the cut with 1 then switch to the other. if you cant afford two machines each.. What i used to do back in the day is do one half of the cut put the clippers down for a while and get rid of all the debris from the blade and spray it with cool care. Pick your trimmers up and start doing the line up on that side of the haircut with the trimmers. The trimmers shouldnt get hot and then your clipper because you let it cool down and the cool care cooled it down and dries it down. Your clipper shouldnt get hot for the rest of the cut. Another tip i have is to try to do the skin to the half part of the haircut asap cause thats when the blade will be actually touching the skin and cause discomfort if its hot. If you have a guard on your clipper the client is never going to feel how hot the blade is.

Retired barber, my clippers are the best and are power operated, never had a problem at shop, Now at home the blade gets hot enough to burn skin after few min of use

Taking a closer look at that clipper motor.... that thing is about as ancient of a design as they can get. THIS in itself is probably one of the biggest improvements that can be made, as a more efficient motor means less energy is rejected as heat and instead is directly channeled into the cutting blade head. Reducing the size and increasing efficiency could be done by miniaturizing the yokeless axial flux motor type that YASA Limited has popularized (and that Mercedes Benz now owns), down to the size of that which is needed for clippers. They are some of the lightweight (power dense) and torque dense of what you can find in terms of electric motors, are extremely simple, easy to cool (and can be oil cooled), and can be as high as 95% energy efficient, compared to say the motors you'll find in most clippers which can be as low as 70% efficiency or less. Mind you, that's still pretty high, considering even the most efficient internal combustion engines cant even crest 50% energy efficiency... however, 30% of 60 watts is still enough to seriously heat up a pair of clippers. So, more efficient motor means less heat in the clipper chassis. The other area of improvement would be in the controller chip / driver modules. Making these more efficient will also reduce heat produced by computer chips and power electronics like DC rectifiers, voltage boosters, transformers, capacitors, and so forth. Finally, regarding the battery, the clipper design industry ain't going to make a breakthrough in battery Technology. This will be the companies behind the battery cells themselves, like Tesla, Panasonic, SK, LG Chem, Samsung SDI, CATL, Farasis, and so forth. Many of these organizations have already produced batteries with way better performance, and endurance but the main issue is affordability. Clippers are anything but a high volume product, so they are already expensive as is. Introducing cutting edge battery tech will come with a hefty price. HOWEVER, there is a solution here, and that would be hot swappable batteries like you'd find in a cordless drill, and to have a special charger dock where a barber can charge multiple batteries at once throughout the workday. And regarding heat? Just have a blower fan directly driven by the motor (with air flow slots on either side, just like a cordless drill) that is easily serviceable so as to clean it out when hair trimmings inevitably get gunked up inside. Quick review of ways to cool off clippers: -more efficient motor -make the clipper chassis out of a low heat conductivity material (like carbon fiber / soft touch plastic or other composite materials, for instance) -connect the motor to a blower fan with airflow slots -make the batteries swappable (as batteries can actually generate A LOT of heat on their own as they rapidly charge and discharge) -use higher energy density, higher quality chemistry lithium ion batteries and higher efficiency power control electronics that control the clipper motor and battery charge These would easily make for a much cooler running set of cordless clippers

You my friend sound like a future engineer for the next generations of clippers. You should seriously consider it

@@SooMajor If only I had the capital to do so 😂 there are SO many random projects like this that I would do. I just see a lot of places where we can improve existing designs.

@@scenicdepictionsofchicagolife That’s smart, a lot of ppl focus on inventing the “next new thing” instead of improving something thats already proven to be good and take it to great. I hope you get the backing and funding needed to attack your goals man

@Mike-hy8cs
@Mike-hy8cs Год назад
Depends how it is nobody can really tell you from a comment. The only thing i can say is hair fibers with some hair spray to lock it in. It will last the whole day and not come off easy.

Oven mits WOW I’m sure almost positive that if I need mits what will my clients wear to protect them from the other exstremely hot blades that will leave permanent lines and another nine scars that come along with it and I just think you might need some guidance as a new barber 💈 blessings
