surprisingly good and useful video. Nothing too unexpected, but a good overview and reminder. Even some new insights. And most importantly, you didn't destroy its cohesion with irrelevant tangents telling us what you hate so much about bad players. Maybe because the whole video was about common problems of average players? Either way, you found a good compromise between what I assume are your audience retention methods and the actual content, and your points seemed to have been well-developed thoughts.
When i first play dota "2" i started as a carry player my mmr back then was 2800 then i keep on playing till i reached exactly 2k then i switched to supporting from 2k i reached 4500 then switched to mid cause everygame my mid fails and destroy their items and i climbed immo rank 2000 in 3 years pretty cool from 2kmmr to rank 2k immo im happy with my current rank :D
These videos are very helpful!! I started playing dota this year when corona started taking over countries :/ I'm 1.5 k mmr now and learning more everyday
I was just playing support and I needed about 120 gold to finish vessel. I went to jungle and killed one camp, I even did that 15 sec before respawn so my Sven could farm, and he started pinging at me, I was like “Chill dude, they will respawn” and he replies with “anyways you’re support, play support” and told me to leave top jungle. What’s the most ironic he got jumped by LC and Mirana right after I left
If you ask I think It's fine but honestly, as a carry It Is extremely annoying when you get around to jungling and the camp Is cleared because you're freaking support just nuked it.
@@liamnissanS2K but he was in a small camp and I nuked the big camp in the middle, it respawned while he finished medium camp. Like I literally don’t see a problem here. You might, why u didn’t put wards, I’ve been buying them whole time while out pos 5 undying is rushing aghs with aoen disk
I`m a core player. I tried smurf playing on crusader rank as a support. I was trying to say to my team and other supp to come with me as shaman and i need to use my ult everytime. but they didn`r listen and I guess the biggest thing holding them back is fear.
The smoke example is actually a good example for how simple the game is. Don't get me wrong, it's a complex game in general, but I wasted so much time thinking through every bit of this game until I found out, that I was so busy thinking about everything that I forgot to actually do it. Do what needs to be done. It doesn't help to know you should smoke or switch treads or use more clarities etc. JUST DO IT! Nice video again, Speed! Keep up the great work!
Bad habit #0: Dying. You'll win 90% more games by dying less, and 95% more games by helping your team die less. This is just as true for supports as it is for carries. I'd dare say that most of what sensei Speed says can be tied into this. Why do you leave the lane as pos1 when the offlaner hits a spike or is pressuring you too much?.. so that you don't die. Why pull creeps? So that you can kill them in a manner that does not lead to death. Why flash farm? So that you can level up and afford more items that lead to... not dying. ;) After you master the not dying, then you get to move onto the gutsy+confident plays that really snowball games.
As a pos 5 player I reallly appreciate this kind of content, one thing that I constantly do as a pos 5 and was the first topic of the video. I often get caught thinking "What should I do now?! Everyone is farming", It's like there's no space for me in the game at all.
I like that you gave a shoutout a SirActionSlacks. Hoorahing the team really is sooo crucial. Even tho it’s a meme, RTZ’s PMA approach changed how I view pubs
Hai speed, i'm one of your fans in youtube, and i will just tell the other fans something.. I am a support player, and i just get to the immortal bracket this month,,, and everything that you said in this video is true ,,, :D
Loved the last one, haha, really depressing. Great vid and info as always, would love to see a video about meta heroes power spikes for example supports, offlaners, cores. From watching all videos, already learnt some power spikes like treants lvl 3 , free mmr:D
I play support way too often that when I get a core role I accidently buy support items like smoke or sentries, busy dewarding, or even pull creep camps...
They should add eachothers smurf and queue simultainously, to get into a game on opposite teams, so that we can finally see how to handle the enemy smurfs. Also it would be quite entertaining
I had a game I was pos5 doctor and a riki was with me. He tried to fight early too much really, when I hit my spikes he just stopped trying and went to jungle and let me die. We had a lot of counters so I couldn’t solo kill but if riki only uses the silence....
When i play as pos1 sometimes i actually get tilted because of my supports like some of them are just sapping exp and do nothing like casting spells or trading hit with the enemy support sometimes they are just standing behind creep waves. You can havr an impact as pos 5 its like baby sitting your carry and helping your team and buy some fs or glimmers to save them from clash not aghs rush. And also Everyone should try different roles not sticking to one because in everyrole there is a different mindset and ive played someone before he always play pos 1 and when he play pos 5 he always buy dag or aghs and have low impact in the laning stage because they dont knoe what to do.
lol if a pos1 player pos5 and goes for dagger and aghs then he is just an idiot... As a pos1 player u definitely should know what ur carry needs in the laning stage...
After several weeks i now look at minimap every 5 seconds and it really made my game better spexually in teamfights And bruh i have more winrate as a pos4 rather than core roles donno why but it's much easier for me to rank up as a pos4
supports wont gain mmr solo queue. thats very true. i win 50% games as pos4 and 5. thats i always stuck, but when I started playing pos3 i am winning 65%. what i leart fron gameleap is that dying is not really bad as pos3. as a tank, i keep pressure on offlane with constant push and create space for others. in many games i have beeen blamed as feeder but later it only helped my carries and ultimately winning the game. SPACE CREATED is very underwhelming and unpopular.
Speed's content is very helpful. Im here as a testimony. I always watch his video about supporting when I was 2k mmr and now i reach 4.5k mmr. How amazing is that? Just by playing pos 5 and believe me or net i only play one hero reaching 4.5k mmr. Yah
Im a 5k support player. I can win easy MMR as carry in 3k bracket, but if I wanna win in 4-5k bracket, support is actually the easiest way for me to win MMR.
Why is it bad when loosing to just sit behind cores while they farm, wont you be able to turn tanks against the opponent while scaring your core at the same time? (This is from the perspective of a pos 1 player btw)
Also it happens below 3k pos 5-4 awesome players 1,2,3 terrible even with all the recommendations in video. 0-3 water in mid lane by WR. Dusa with rapier 3rd item.. Unknown offlane with zero impact. It's not excuses. It's just reality. It doesn't happen always. I got better with speed's advices tho. I was nearly herald and I'm closing to 2000k 👍
i have low mmr...... i despise supports that nuke the lane creeps for farm in laning phase and have the nerve to blame me for not having items and hit my timings and say im just support blah3.......i dont meet them every game but from time to time......i mean at least please..... be logical!!! ...... and im more afraid of meeting great supports than great carrys......cus carry heroes are relatively weaker than supports in early game as they need items......but most support heroes can actually dictate the pace heading to the mid game....and i hate their contant ganks...
Please speed dont say that about smokes. I had a mirana who just walked me and randomly wasted a smoke. PLEASE PEOPLE LOOK AT OTHER TEAMATES RESOURCES BEFORE I can't gank with 5% mana and 200 hp when I am walking to base to refill my bottle.
What if noone listen... What if you get an offlaner who is more focused to farm creeps like magnus, dk... When the game is going bad noone listens really, everyone thinks others are trash, and disregard their advice and consider it flaming even if you are advising... At that point its all about the fault of your stars if you win or lose the game...
I'm sorry, what? #1 has me face rolling. "Position 5". Position numbers dictate farm priority. A position 5 should never have more farm than anyone else unless the rest of the team is just terrible.
Stack. Few simple stack can earn you so many commends and if you lose its you security because they cant report you, they wont report you if you stack for them.
Seriously? This support is harder to gain MMR is real. You mention Cr1t and Sonneiko as example, 2 of the best support pros, seriously? I can write a long essay to explain why that's such a poor attempt to prove a point. Here let me break it down to you. IT'S BECAUSE MOST SUPPORT HERO DESIGN IS NOT AS COOL NOR AS SATISFYING TO PLAY AS THEIR CORE COUNTERPART. And that believe it or not, will have an impact on the players performance playing it. That's why people rushing to play MK when the pros showed he was viable as a 4. Because he looks cooler and fun to your Average Joe than a friggin crystal maiden (disclaimer I loved playing CM) No one ever notice this seriously? In my 15+ years time as a competitive gamer from Dota, LoL, Overwatch, Valorant you name it, it's always the same fucking thing. They design most support hero with this lame look and passive gameplay. Most people who invest time and effort to get good at competitive games wants to SHOWOFF, that's just the nature of things, thats humane. And these dev keep making supports (mostly) lame and un-fun to play, it's getting ridiculous.
