The bullpens at Am Fam Field is by design. The Brewers wanted seating away from their bullpen in left field so fans wouldn’t distract the pitchers, while fans are close enough to the visitors bullpen to harass the visiting pitchers.

Oakland Colesium could be so good with a major renovation. Tear down Mount Davis, make some party decks, make less foul territory to bring the fans closer. Will never happen though.

The stadium is nearing 60 years old. There's no worth to saving it

@@sportsmaster1364 Fenway and Wrigley are over 100 years old and are the best stadiums in MLB. It could be done, but they would have needed to keep up with it through the years. It's been neglected too long.

The thing about wriggly and Fenway is that the owners actually took care of the stadium. So that it could last as long as it did. They made the commitment to make that park the best it could be. No one gave a crap about the coliseum and so it stood there rotting and now it’s pretty much unsalvageable at this point. That’s why the A’s are leaving for Vegas and the Raiders left. That stadium was bad for both sports and adding mt Davis did not help expand the stadiums life and in fact it shortened it by years.

As Raiders run off to Las Vegas, they leave behind $65 million in debt in Oakland.... Still paying off Mount Davis. Meanwhile the Raiders have tripled in value by moving to Vegas. Why Cities should stop funding these things.

I mean I kind of like mount Davis, makes it unique. I’m the new park they should make really high seats in center as a mini replica of mount davis

First, also how can you have t-moble park...the Pen is one of the main features of the stadium and is an awesome spot to watch pitchers warm up and a great spot to stand and watch the game too...plus it's the only place that allows hard liquor in the entire ballpark

I actually like T-Mobile Park’s bullpens. You are literally 5 feet from the pitchers when standing in that area

As a former pitcher, the worst bullpens are the ones situated in foul territory instead of beyond the fences. Everything else is a distant second.
@darkrider962
@darkrider962 8 месяцев назад
It's downright dangerous with the pitchers being completely exposed to any errant foul balls, many of which are hit very hard! Should be completely banned for all MLB parks!

Oracle Park messed up when they designed/built the stadium. They forgot about the bullpens. So centerfields was the only place they could have put them.

Thank you again for pointing out Comerica Park who IMO have one of the worst overall outfield designs. The double padded walls is so cheap that now extends to right center field. Also when they moved into the fences in 2003, 4 years after the park opened, that space was empty in left field for two years!! Wasn’t until 2005 that they invested about a million dollars to moving the bullpen from the original spot in right field, filling that empty space with seats and moving the bullpens to left field that takes up the entire left field. As I’ve said Comerica Park is one of the worst outfield views, fans are not close to action, at all, in right field the fence is like 12 feet high, such a drastic difference from Tiger Stadium where the place was double decked all around, with right field upper deck having a 10 foot over hang, the fences were about 8 feet high, having the fans close to the action, still remember Ken Griffey Jr.’s fantastic catch in right center in 1998 leaping over the wall to rob Luis Gonzalez of a home run with the fans right on top of the action. Another side note about Comerica is the statues in left field for retired numbers, well only for the first 5 retired numbers in franchise history, no planning went into space for future retired numbers and if they get a statue too, the team has since retired 4 more numbers since the park opened in 2000, and all 4 were players who retired or left the team in the early to mid 90s, meaning this should have been planned with the design, so now the team has 9 retired numbers plus a statue for Ty Cobb mix in they have 3 more likely retired numbers once Jim Leyland (2006-2013), Justin Verlander (2005-2017) and Miguel Cabrera (2008-2023) enter the Hall of Fame with all 3 likely wearing a Tigers cap on their plaque, only Cabrera is a sure thing. I say this because making the hall of fame and playing majority of your career and wearing the Tigers cap on the Hall of Fame plaque is a lock have your number retired by the team.

TBH it sounds like the best thing for the Tigers organization to do is to demolish Camerica Park and build something new from scratch! Renovations can only do so much, and Camerica Park has so many flaws that I would just move on with something new and state-of-the-art instead of wasting tones of money slapping on duct tape and bandages to the existing slab.

Depressed Ginger has clearly not attended T-Mobile Park recently if he thinks it has one of the bottom 5 bullpens in all of MLB. The 'Pen is one of the best areas of the ballpark to hangout in and watch the game for sure!

Hopefully my guy here will lay off Comerica and it’s “double wall cheapness” if he reads his comments. From the Detroit News: Noticeable and significant upgrades are coming soon to the ballpark, Ryan Gustafson, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Ilitch Sports & Entertainment, recently told The Detroit News. "Absolutely. It's a huge priority for Chris Ilitch, and he's communicated that to all of us about investing in the ballpark, investing in the ballpark experience," Gustafson told The News earlier this month, while attending a wrap-up party for the Tigers' first season of its Play Ball Detroit initiative. "We're finalizing some plans for next year. We don't have anything to share today, but it's gonna be really exciting for fans when you show up for Opening Day. "There's gonna be some really significant changes that are gonna really impact the fan experience in a positive way."

I never understood the design of comerica. Tiger stadium was classic with the short porch overhang in right, and 440 to dead center. They should’ve just built an updated version with modern amenities.
