The portrait textures for the HUD in this video (as well as small changes to Kido's skin tone and Dr. Riddles' eye color) can be found here for everyone to enjoy! :)
• Zatch Bell! English Ga...
• Zatch Bell! Mamodo Fur...
The intense showdown with Bari & Gustav served as the perfect wake-up call for Zatch & Kiyo... who realize now more than ever that their current level of strength will never win them the crown.
It's time for a new approach... and along with it, a whole new mission in the battle for king!
NOTE:
- Unfortunately, you DO need to be playing on Hard mode with me in order to follow this walkthrough. If you play on Easy or Normal mode, levels of the story will stay locked.
CLEAR CONDITIONS:
The only condition is that you want to try your best to get an A rank no matter what, because that will give you the points needed to strengthen Zatch and make the rest of the Story Mode less of a hassle.
- Levels 25 & 26 (Kido): You may find it challenging to get an A rank in this stage, mainly because there's no debris that can be destroyed to inflict gimmick damage on the opponent. Moreover, Kido and Dr. Riddles have a varied arsenal of spells that can be tricky to avoid in a map like this where trees and litter are strewn all over the place. The camera angle may also make it tough to know whether you're safe from Kido's attacks or not, and Dr. Riddles loves to cast his ultimate spell as soon as he unlocks it. Despite all this however, as long as you don't drop your book, get knocked over more than twice, and don't run out of power from within... you should be able to come out on top with some well-timed Zaker blasts and a whole lot of Jikerdors.
- Level 27 (Penny): This level is the first of many that will take place within a room inside the ancient Devolo Ruins. These rooms are FILLED TO THE BRIM with deadly debris, and you'll probably find yourself running into some of it and getting struck by a few pieces no matter where you go. This is great for getting the gimmick damage boost to your score, and luckily, this level is much easier in the English version because they changed the clear condition from K.O.ing Penny to knocking out Uri's book instead. Simply run up to them with Rashield at the ready, and then punch Uri 3 times with Kiyo. He'll knock out the book and you should clear the level with an A!
- Level 28 (Byonko): You'll fight Byonko & Alvin in the same room you battled Penny & Uri, so the layout will be no different... However, this time you'll need to win by knockout, so you may find it harder to get an A rank here when pitted against Byonko's slippery, lethal attacks. Fortunately, being knocked down by his Raja Nyulusen spell will not drop your score. When he fires that glob of green goo at you... any movement at all while inside its radius will cause you to slip and fall no matter what... and if you stand still, it does nothing to you and subsides after a few seconds. Blow up a lot of junk around Byonko and Alvin to get that sweet gimmick damage bonus, and as always, don't leave Kiyo too vulnerable, as anything that happens to him can drastically lower your score. Zatch has all that Defense Spirit for a reason, so make the most of it!
- Levels 29 & 30 (Victoream): I'm going to be honest with you... you are going to have a very unpleasant time trying to get an A rank in the 1st of these 2 levels on hard difficulty... It will probably take you several tries, and if you lose your book even once, run out of power from within even once, get knocked down more than twice, and/or lose more than 50% of your HP by the time you win, you might as well start over because it will always lead to a B. The defense stat for Victoream is twice as high as it was meant to be in this level, which was an exclusive change to the English version... and makes him far more difficult to take down than he was ever intended to be. You REALLY want to get gimmick damage on them here, and if it turns out all the columns are blown up and they weren't even hit once by any of the debris, just start the level over. It is next to impossible to get an A rank in this fight without inflicting gimmick damage, because you'll have barely any time left on the clock before they're defeated, and that hurts your score every time.
More detailed explanations for how to clear these levels will be in the comments section below! :)

*LEVEL 25 (Kido):* Here we find ourselves at yet another stage that is exclusive to story mode and Arcade Mode (still playable with mods though). First of all, this is very hilly, uneven terrain... so try to make sure not to cast *Zaker* or *Zakeruga* unless you're at a higher vantage point than the opponent. Jikerdor works in this stage and will either magnetize the enemy to a pile of barrels, or cause various pieces of metal litter to cling to them and slow them down. Kido and Dr. Riddles are experts at casting the correct spells to unlock their ultimate spell as quickly as possible, and once they have it, they are not shy about unleashing it on you right away! Three punches from Kiyo will knock out Dr. Riddles' book, so I recommend doing this whenever possible just to make sure they don't blindside you with the *Mikor Ma Zegaruga* spell. *Zegar,* *Zegaruga,* and *Ganzu Zegar* are all basic projectile spells and a rapid-fire projectile spell that aren't all that quick and are pretty easy to avoid. However, if you ever hear him cast *Koburuk,* GET IN FRONT OF THE MINI KIDOS AT A DISTANCE AND THEN CAST *RASHIELD!* I cannot stress that enough, that spell will track you down wherever you go, and you can't really outrun it because of how long it takes for the Mini-Kidos to go away by themselves. Your only option is to either jump up someplace where the Mini-Kidos can't get to you or Zatch, OR cast *Rashield* to block their path and destroy them before they can get near you. If you do get hit by the onslaught of tiny marching Kidos, you will take significant damage and get knocked over every single time, so it is the number one Kido spell to watch out for. Lastly, his *Zeshield* spell isn't anything to worry about... it's just another frontal defense spell like most characters have. One last thing to be wary of is that Kido is very protective of Dr. Riddles. If you start attacking the doctor, Kido will do his best to smack you away, so be very careful! When dealing with this team's long-range attacks, just hide Kiyo behind any of the trees when you're in dire need of Spirit Energy. Unless they cast *Koburuk,* he should be safe there from anything else they throw at him (unless they go around the tree of course). *LEVEL 26 (Kido):* The clear conditions for this fight make it so you don't necessarily need to play this level the way that I did. All you need to do is hide Kiyo behind a tree and cast the brand new *Rauzaruk* spell (which costs nearly ALL of your Spirit Energy). This will give Zatch a yellow, electrical aura for about 5 seconds and will make him completely impervious to any attacks in the meantime. During which, you'll want to immediately switch back to Zatch and then run as fast as you can toward Kido. Kido and Dr. Riddles will try to run away from you, but you should still be able to catch up thanks to the frantic "Zatch run." Once Zatch makes physical contact with Kido while in his *Rauzaruk* state, the level win end and you will most likely get an A as long as you took no damage and never once ran out of Spirit Energy throughout the battle. *LEVEL 27 (Penny):* We've finally reached the Ruins stages... This time, both the opponent AND this stage are unplayable in VS mode (but have been made playable thanks to mods). Moreover, almost every room in these ruins will contain some kind of debris that you can destroy and inflict damage with, and NONE of these rooms will be compatible with your *Jikerdor* spell because there is no metal whatsoever. The clear conditions of this level basically make it almost as easy as the first Kolulu level. All you have to do is run up to Uri and punch him 3 times with Kiyo. This will knock out his book, and that will clear the level. Penny has 3 spells to watch out for in this fight, and each one of them is pretty tough to deal with... First is her *Akur* spell, which fires a stream of water that somewhat homes in on the target! Simply veering away from it will most likely cause it to still hit you, so you're going to have to jump over it, dash away from it, or block it with another spell if it comes toward you. Her 2nd spell is *Ashield,* which creates an enormous, circular shield made of semi-transparent, sparkling water. It has a gigantic hitbox, so this shield isn't just good for stopping your attacks... it will also keep you at bay for a few seconds until it disappears. Penny's final spell in this game is *Akur Kiro* and it's unbelievably deadly. Penny fires several water blades in a cone in front of her, and they can inflict damage multiple times in a row. It's tricky to jump over this attack because they just keep coming, so blocking them with *Rashield* or dashing away from the edge of the attack is the only way to get out of there unscathed. If you're lucky, you can cast *Bao Zakeruga* and knock out Uri's book if the AI was controlling Penny at the time that you cast it, but this is all up to chance. Your best bet is to just run up to Uri as Kiyo and beat the heck out of him until he drops the book... with either *Rashield* at the ready, or after casting *Rauzaruk* to protect Zatch from any retaliation.

*LEVEL 28 (Byonko):* Just like in the previous level, this opponent and stage are unplayable in VS mode (but are thankfully playable thanks to mods). Byonko fights like no other character in this game... His first spell is *Raja Nyulusen,* which has him shoot a large glob of green goo at the target. Once the goo makes contact with anything, it bursts open and spreads into a whole mess of slippery green bubbles on the ground. If his opponent tries to move in any way while they're standing within the bubbles, they will slip and fall down, taking damage in the process. As you can imagine, this can get really troublesome, since it hinders your movements and makes it difficult to fight... If you manage to simply stay still the entire time that the bubbles form around you, they will disappear on their own after a few seconds... But since Byonko and Alvin can rush at you and attack while this happens, I don't recommend it if they're anywhere near you. Byonko's 2nd spell is a basic shield called *Gigano Nyushield,* which generates a giant green slime shield in front of Byonko to block attacks... but his third spell is nightmarishly powerful. *Gigalolo Nyululuk* extends Byonko's arm out, allowing him to smack you down with it and take out pretty much 75% of your HP in one hit. If you're ever stuck in the slippery mass of bubbles and he runs toward you, he will most likely try to get you with this move, so your only option is to just slip under to avoid getting hit by it. While controlling Zatch, try to just use *Rauzaruk* again and knock over Alvin and Byonko as much as possible. Cast the occasional *Rashield* whenever he casts *Gigalolo Nyululuk* and don't bother using *Rashield* on *Raja Nyulusen,* because the bubbles will still form around you and congeal after your shield disappears. Your goal is to build up *Bao Zakeruga* as fast as possible, because Byonko is a very tricky opponent to defeat on the battlefield unless you get really lucky. Getting in the guaranteed damage with the ultimate attack is always your best bet at taking him down. *LEVEL 29 (Victoream):* This is widely regarded as one of the hardest levels in the entire game, and for good reason... Victoream's defense stat here is higher than it was ever supposed to be, which makes him a much more formidable opponent than the programmers even intended. Firstly, there is no safe place to hide in this level... all of the pillars can be destroyed and Victoream's attacks go right through them. Victoream has 2 spells that he'll use... *Magurga* and *Magur Yo-yo.* *Magurga* comes out really fast and goes through *Zaker,* so the best way to fight him is to always wait until after Mohawk Ace has cast his spell because he won't be able to cast one again as quickly as you can retaliate, so reaction timing is important. *Zaker* and *Zakeruga* do practically the same amount of damage... so just don't bother firing *Zakeruga* at all because there's a high chance that he'll just block it. As soon as Victoream shoots *Magurga* at you, dash either left or right; Zatch should follow. Then, immediately target Victoream or Mohawk Ace, and then immediately press the spell button to fire a *Zaker.* This makes sure you don't run out of Spirit Energy too quickly and it also keeps chipping away at his HP. Slow and steady is the best way to beat this guy... If you see them run after you, it's because they want to cast *Magur Yo-yo.* If you ever see Victoream cast *Magur Yo-yo,* dash out of the way to dodge him, and then DEFINITELY target him and fire *Zaker.* He'll be stuck in that same animation, swinging around his yo-yo arms at nothing... leaving him wide open for a few seconds. Try not to drop your book, and if you think you can spare the Spirit Energy, cast *Zakeruga* at him once you dodge his *Magur Yo-yo.* It will take a long time to unlock *Bao Zakeruga* if you only stick with *Zaker* and the occasional *Rashield,* but if you mix up *Zaker* and *Zakeruga* (again, only use *Zakeruga* after you've dodged *Magur Yo-yo* or at Mohawk Ace if he's running after his own book), then Bao should appear quicker. Use *Bao Zakeruga* on him whenever possible. If you keep doing this, his health will eventually whittle away to nothing, and you might have about 12 to 15 seconds left on the clock before time runs out. *LEVEL 30 (Victoream):* The second Victoream level is MUCH easier to clear than the first one. All you need to do is cast *Bao Zakeruga* and you win. Victoream will have 3 new spells to use against you... The first is *Magurga 360.* This causes Victoream's head to de-tach from his body and fly up into the air... where he will spin rapidly and repeatedly fire a barrage of *Magurga* beams in every direction, draining his Spirit Energy in the process. This will continue until his Spirit Energy has reached empty, and there is a possibility that he will hit himself by accident. If you attack his head in the air OR his body on the ground when he does this, you will cancel the attack and his head will reattach to his body. The 2nd new spell is *Chagur,* which will simply make the green orbs on Victoream's body glow brightly. Once *Chagur* has been cast 5 times, he will unlock his ultimate spell automatically... and the final new spell is *Chagur Imisdon.* Depending on how many times Victoream has cast *Chagur* in the battle, an enormous "V" shaped energy beam will be fired and pretty much wipe out all of your HP in one blow. This attack can be blocked with *Rashield* or avoided with a dash however. Don't even bother trying to hurt Victoream, and knocking out his spell book doesn't help because of how the *Chagur* spell works. It's always better to just cast as many spells as you can during this fight instead of pre-empting Victoream from attacking. This means that if he does end up firing *Magurga 360* on you, don't interrupt it. Just cast a bunch of *Rashields* in order to further build up *Bao Zakeruga.* On hard difficulty, it can feel like an eternity before you unlock *Bao Zakeruga,* but it will eventually come as long as you don't ever get your book knocked out. Once you cast it and complete the command input, you'll win the level regardless of how you do in the attack and defense inputs.

I wish Penny and Byonko were playable on the gamecube disc of the game It's really nice to see Belgium E.O. and Dalia with thier real colors

Yeah, Byonko's really funny to play with and Penny plays like a slightly faster Laila with fewer spells. Thank you, I'm glad you like my Belgim E.O. and Dalia retextures! :D I've been teasing the Four Supreme Mamodo retextures since January of this year, so I'm really excited to finally release those to the public in the next Mamodo Fury video!

Absolutely! I always found it strange that Kido has *Mikor Ma Zegaruga* as an ultimate spell instead of *Raja Zerusen...* You only end up fighting him as Zatch, so it would make more sense that way. lol

It’s hard enough to beat this game on easy. These extra levels and characters are gonna stay locked if I have to beat it on hard 😩

You can do it! All it takes is a little luck and a lotta practice :)

I'm playing Zatch Bell through PCSX and when I get to the part where I face Victoream, I can't advance because I can't use Bao Zakeruga. The option to use the spell simply doesn't appear, preventing me from continuing the story, as I need to defeat Victoream using the Bao. Do you know how I could solve this?
@XZatchBellGamerX
@XZatchBellGamerX 6 месяцев назад
Hmm... Try using a combination of Jikerdor and Zakeruga. Avoid Rauzaruk, and cast Zaker from time to time too. Only use Rashield when you really need it. You'll eventually unlock Bao Zakeruga as long as you don't lose your spell book. Let me know if it works
