The portrait textures for the HUD in this video (as well as blue Demolt ruins, accurately colored Demolt & Vile, and optional black pupils for Zofis and fierce eyes for Zatch) can be found here for everyone to enjoy! :)
• Zatch Bell! English Ga...
• Zatch Bell! Mamodo Fur...
After a long and perilous struggle to overthrow Zofis and take that huge step forward toward becoming a kind king, Zatch and Kiyo have finally reached the end of the line.
An enormous beast unlike anything they've ever seen awaits them in the hauntingly dazzling room of the ruins where the moonstone is kept. Can the duo defeat the dastardly chess master and overcome the personal demon sneering smugly at them from within the shadows?
NOTE:
- Unfortunately, you DO need to be playing on Hard mode with me in order to follow this walkthrough. If you play on Easy or Normal mode, levels of the story will stay locked.
CLEAR CONDITIONS:
The only condition is that you want to try your best to get an A rank no matter what, because that will give you the points needed to strengthen Zatch and make the rest of the Story Mode less of a hassle.
- Level 36 (Demolt): This is a very open area with few places to hide, so you'll need to play very carefully (unless you decide to just run all the way to the back corner of the steps that Vile is standing on). No yellowtail will spawn at all, and some of Demolt's attacks are lethal. You'll need to avoid getting hit by his trails of fire as you take down the giant stone of moonlight above your head. Be careful not to run out of power from within, don't get knocked down at all, NEVER get close to Demolt, and don't lose your book (which will likely only happen if you get hit by a falling rock or shards of the destroyed crystal that fall down from above). Getting an A is SUPER easy if you follow my second Demolt strategy.
- Levels 37 & 38 (Zofis): This is the final level of the ruins, and we're up to the final battle stage and mamodo team of characters that are unfortunately unplayable in VS mode (but are fortunately playable now thanks to mods).This stage has a ton of debris lying around, so if you can either trick Zofis into destroying it when he's in front of a rock or fallen pillar, or just aim for it yourself and destroy it with Zaker, Zofis and Koko should end up taking a lot of gimmick damage to boost your ranking. Just don't get knocked down, don't lose your spell book, and don't run out of power from within. If you're lucky, yellowtail may appear to give you an HP boost. Have Rashield ready to go at all times, and for the second battle, just run around and hold them off until you unlock Bao Zakeruga. If you get hit by Rond Radom (purple energy trails) at all, just restart the level, because there's no way you'll get an A rank with the damage those things to do you in a single blow.
- Levels 39 & 40 (Zeno): We're sent to the place in Holland where Rops met his end at the hands of Zeno and Dufort. There's a high chance that yellowtail will appear if you blow up the crates right next to the large building with the orange rooftop right behind where you spawn in the first of these two levels, so try to keep those intact until you need them later. It's difficult to pull this off, but if you can destroy the windmill while Zeno and Dufort are in front of it (which takes 2 projectile shots on the windmill blades), you'll get them with some great gimmick damage that will really boost your ranking. Otherwise, try to get them with the debris of the destroyed crates... because other than that, there aren't many destructible objects in this stage that will inflict any damage, and you're absolutely going to need the gimmick bonus because you won't have much time left on the clock when you finally take down Zeno & Dufort. Don't let Zeno knock you down more than once, don't run out of power from within, don't lose your book, and don't lose too much HP... Level 39 is a challenge but level 40 is a bit easier, just restart the level if Zeno ever casts Zeo Zakeruga. I wanted to get footage of it in the gameplay, but winning with an A rank after he does that is absolutely impossible because of the metric ton of damage it will deal to you.
More detailed explanations for how to clear these levels will be in the comments section below! :)

Thank you so much! I knew this video would be the high point of the Mamodo Fury walkthrough (at least until we get to playing as NPC characters with mods), so I wanted to give it everything I had... in texture modding, gameplay, and even the thumbnail. I'm glad you enjoy them! :D

just finished rewatching this series. i had a blast. thank you for showing all the cutscenes and amazing gameplay makes me appreciate the english dub even more. i'm probably gonna move to mamodo battles next since its the same case with skipping cutscenes there. also i loved the way you put some nice touches, like showing zatch's front when activating rauzaruk for the first time to make it look more iconic. thank you, not many people do content like you, especially not people playing the zatch bell games also a cool thing i noticed, in the final battle against zeno, both the avatar of zatch's healthbar and the stage ranking section goes from his cheerful face to a more serious face.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and got as much out of it as possible! :D I do remember doing some cinematic touches, like making Zatch and Kiyo walk through their Rashield after casting it against... Rops, was it? The Rauzaruk thing was a lot less subtle. Most of the time, I just tried to show everything the game had to offer. This happened the most against Demolt, Baltro, and Zeno I think.

18:30 and 22:02 Wow. I did not know you could go to the roof of those houses... I guess there really are "unlimited possibilities", huh?

Yup! Can you tell I played this battle and stage nonstop when I was a kid? lol That orange rooftop is my favorite spot in the whole game. I pretty much know this stage like the back of my hand, and when I discovered that you could do that one day when I was battling Zeno with Zatch in VS mode, I was floored. You just need to get your human partner to jump on top of the tallest stack of flour sacks and then jump up again as you clip through the lower roof and can just jump onto the next one from there. If your mamodo fails to follow you, it's super easy to get a mamodo up there by switching to them and then using their higher jump, and voila! I've always wanted to fight an opponent mamodo team on top of that roof with me, but the AI sadly isn't programmed to do that kind of parkour.

NOTE: Don't be confused if you don't end up seeing the cut scene at the end of the first battle in this video. It's only available after clearing story mode on normal difficulty, but since I don't plan to re-do the story mode for this walkthrough, I figured here would be the best place to show it. *LEVEL 36 (Demolt):* Demolt plays much the same way as the armored Baltro from way back in level 16. He has multiple targeting points, no Spirit Energy. and even has a human partner (Vile) who controls him from atop an inaccessible platform just like Steng did for Baltro. Naturally, this titan is not playable in VS mode for obvious reasons, but he differs from Baltro in a handful of important ways. He only has two spells and lets his fists do the rest of the work for him. Demolt's first spell *Zemoruk* causes him to slam the horn on his forearm into the ground as it extends outward, which emits 3 fiery trails that travel forward in a three-pronged path. He has that in common with Baltro and you can stand in the gaps between the trails of fire to stay out of harm's way because he is not good at repositioning the attack. However, what makes him different from Baltro is the fact that if you try to get close to him, he will cast a close-range spell called *Diolem Zemoruk,* which ignites his entire forearm in flames and causes him to swing his fist down toward you. If you get hit by this, it's a near-instant K.O. no matter what. *Rauzaruk* can protect you from this, but if Demolt sees that he can't harm Zatch, he will instead jump all the way toward Kiyo and try it on him instead. There are a handful of zones in this stage that Demolt can leap toward, and he doesn't like it at all when the opponent gets close to him, which will either cause him to leap away to a different zone or smack them down with his fiery fist. Demolt's other two moves are simply beating his giant wings to push you away if you get too close (which leaves him wide open from a distance), and a dodging technique that makes him lumber around and stomp on the ground in a frenzy, allowing him to usually move too quickly for your projectile attack to connect unless you get lucky. Another thing of note is that Demolt will rapidly recover HP no matter what kind of damage you inflict on him, because he is being healed by the stone of moonlight hanging from the ceiling above your head. You can target various limbs, but his weak point is definitely his head. Lastly, if you try to cast *Bao Zakeruga* on him, it will have absolutely no effect for some reason. So your only option is to target the stone of moonlight and destroy it before you can take him down with reasonable difficulty. To do this, get somewhere safe where you know his trails of fire won't reach you. Then, target him and nudge the control stick to the left repeatedly while you hold down the targeting button. This will allow your target selector to cycle between all his limbs one at a time before you reach his head and then, finally, the glistening stone of moonlight above you. Fire three *Zakeruga* blasts at it *(Zaker* won't be able to reach it), and don't let go of the targeting button or else you'll have to struggle to target the moonlight stone all over again. Once the giant crystal is destroyed, simply run around Demolt a few feet away from him. He will usually need to turn around to get back into position, and that's your chance to blast him with *Zaker* right in the head. *Rashield* will protect you from his trails of fire, so focus on casting *Zaker* and *Rashield* for the final stretch, and he'll be down for the count in no time. *Zaker* tends to do plenty of damage by itself. Be careful though, because sometimes his defeat will be delayed by a few seconds. Do NOT automatically assume you're safe the moment his HP reaches 0 because he can still get you with one last attack before a cut scene plays depicting his literal downfall. *LEVEL 36 (Demolt) easiest strategy:* Make Zatch and Kiyo run all the way to the back of the room, right against the back edge of the steps that lead to the platform Vile is standing on. Demolt is completely unable to reach you with his attacks here because the platform is indestructible, and he does not consider you to be close enough for him to cast his *Diolem Zemoruk* spell on you. Simply target him and then keep tilting your control stick left to eventually target the stone of moonlight above your head. Fire three *Zakeruga* shots at it (there is a chance you might get hit by the falling shards of crystal, but it won't do much damage at all), and then aim at Demolt's head. Wait for 2 seconds after he casts his *Zemoruk* spell on you and then fire *Zaker* at his head from your safe spot. This will usually be a direct hit because he will be bound to his recovery animation after using the *Zemoruk* attack before he can do anything else. A few well-placed *Zaker* blasts are all it takes to topple him over and earn an easy A rank. *LEVEL 37 (Zofis):* Second only to Laila & Albert, Zofis & Koko are the most shocking mamodo team (as well as the stage they appear in) to not be playable in VS mode (but are thankfully all playable thanks to mods). Zofis has a seemingly simple set of spells, but his 2nd spell actually breaks the game because of how powerful it is. His 1st spell *Radom* is a low-level projectile with seemingly infinite range that starts out slowly as a twinkle of light from Zofis' hand, which then shoots forward at a breakneck speed before bursting into an orb of pink energy on contact. This is a very good 1st spell to have, because while it may be easy to see coming, the speed of the projectile is so fast that dodging it is still rather tricky (much like Belgim E.O.'s *Gigano Ryusu* spell) and it will always knock you down if it hits. His 2nd spell is inaccessible to him in this level and will be discussed in the next level, and his 3rd spell is *Rond Radom,* which fires 3 copies of Fein's *Oru Wigar* spell at you all at once. They fire in a confusing and unreliable pattern at a moderate speed, but if you get hit by any of 3 pink energy trails, you will take a ton of damage and definitely get knocked down from it. You can stop both of Zofis' spells with *Rashield,* but be warned that he will almost always run toward you before casting *Rond Radom* in order to make it harder to avoid. All you need to do in this level is survive for 3 minutes. The stage is designed in such a way that you can easily just run around the perimeter of the platform as Zofis remains on top of it and keeps trying to fire spells at you in vain. I was confrontational with him in this video to be entertaining, but you should just keep casting *Rashield* when you need it and run the rest of the time. If you do this, chances are that Zofis will blow up some objects around the room when he takes aim at you, hitting either himself or Koko with them and giving you some free gimmick damage points toward your ranking score. The only other thing to warn you about is that the AI aggressively likes to run up to Kiyo and try to knock his book away, following each attempt with a *Rond Radom* spell. If you get too close to Koko, even if you don't hit her, Zofis will smack you down just like Eshros did when you got too close to Shin during the schoolyard level. If you want an A, it's important to not get knocked down too much, but blowing things up with *Zaker* can also get you some yellowtail that spawn at random, which is always helpful in any tight spot.

*LEVEL 38 (Zofis):* Now that we're in the final showdown against Zofis, he has unlocked his missing spell, and man is it a nightmare whenever he has an HP bar... Zofis' 2nd spell is *Gigarado Shield,* which functions less like his disc-shaped shield from the anime and more like the defense system that his Milordo-Z helmet gave him against Brago and Sherry for a short while in the anime, allowing him to repel any attack with a forcefield. Zofis generates a large pink forcefield around himself that nullifies any attack (but it's buggy against some other characters' spells for some reason like Brago's *Ion Gravirei)* . It wears off after a while and normally wouldn't be too bad if not for one thing: he is completely able to keep casting spells while the shield is active. This means he can freely cast *Radom* and *Rond Radom* while he is momentarily invulnerable to any attacks. He also makes sure to stay close to Koko, so it will be difficult to target her as well since his shield will get in the way and absorb the damage. Fortunately, this shield also has one other property that helps get an A rank: it will automatically destroy any debris on contact... which means if Zofis decides to run into a pillar or a rock while *Gigarado Shield* is active, he will almost certainly inflict Koko with damage from the shrapnel of the destroyed objects. Your main goal here is to simply cast *Bao Zakeruga.* In order to unlock *Bao Zakeruga,* you'll need to use more than just *Zaker* and *Rashield* this time... You'll have to cast the occasional *Zakeruga* and maybe even *Jikerdor* every so often, even though *Jikerdor* is useless in this stage but very good for building up the *Bao Zakeruga* spell. Simply survive and fend off their attacks as you cast spells at either Koko or the debris around her. Don't bother trying to cast spells on Zofis, because he'll likely deflect the damage with his maxed out defense spirit stat, which buys you no time at all. Eventually, you'll have *Bao Zakeruga* ready, but make sure Koko doesn't sneak up on you and knock out your book, or you'll have to start all over again! *LEVEL 39 (Zeno):* This opponent and stage are both playable in VS Mode, but his stats are all maxed out to the breaking point in this level, which makes defeating him with an A rank quite challenging. We're just lucky that this windmill stage is so open and filled with large structures, making it easy to run and hide when you need to recover your Spirit Energy. You know what's up Zeno's sleeve, every single spell that he has is a mirror copy of Zatch's spells but colored blue. However, what's very important to mention is that there is a strange bug (or perhaps an intentional edit made to the English version) where Zatch's *Zaker* spell is able to break through Zeno's *Zaker* spell. In any other mode, the two spells cancel each other out, but in this story section, Zatch's *Zaker* overpowers Zeno's *Zaker* every time. Take full advantage of this fact, because it is key to defeating him. The stage offers some cool gimmicks that make your battle all the more interesting, such as destructible crates, sacks of flour that produce smokescreens, a way to actually get both Zatch and Kiyo on top of the roof of a building, and even 2 windmills that can topple their blades on top of the opponent if the opponent is near them when you hit the blades twice with a projectile attack. *Jikerdor* is useless in this level unless you want to use it to build up power for *Bao Zakeruga,* but it's worth mentioning that the only spells Zeno will use here are *Zaker, Rashield,* and *Zakeruga.* He doesn't bother with *Jikerdor* or *Rauzaruk* even though he has them available, and he of course won't use his ultimate spell *Zeo Zakeruga,* because he wants to toy with you. Zeno and Dufort usually know when to pull back until they're ready to perform a counterattack, but aren't very good at moving around obstacles to find their target and will often just fire lightning toward you even if you're behind something indestructible. They know that it doesn't matter if you cower the whole time, because they'll still win if the time runs out, so you have no choice but to go out and fight because time will certainly run out before you can muster *Bao Zakeruga* enough times to K.O. them from the safety of your hiding place. Yellowtail will be hiding in the crates that you can destroy, so try to save those until you actually need an HP boost. What you really want to do more than anything here is similar to what we were doing for our Victoream strategy. Get close to Zeno and Dufort and then dash to the left or right as soon as they cast a spell at you. Then, strike back immediately with a targeted *Zaker* attack, preferably on Dufort. Only use *Zakeruga* sparingly, because Zeno loves to just absorb its damage and Dufort has a better dash than any other character in the game, allowing him to breeze through most projectiles with ease. They do not run out of Spirit Energy at all and seem to have a nearly endless supply of it, so don't rely on them to ever be low on power. You're just going to have to time your *Zaker* attacks carefully so that they blow through Zeno's *Zaker* blasts, or you hit Zeno JUST as soon as you finish dodging one of his spells with your dash followed by an immediate target selector. *LEVEL 40 (Zeno):* At long last, we've reached the final level in the rather extensive story mode of Mamodo Fury... This level is definitely easier than the previous one because of the objective: cast *Bao Zakeruga.* The only thing you need to be warned about here is that Zeno WILL cast his *Zeo Zakeruga* ultimate spell on you now once he unlocks it, and if you get hit by it, it's an instant K.O. if you perform badly at the defense inputs, or an absolutely lethal blow if you do well at the defense inputs. You can't be struck by this spell and still get an A rank, it's completely impossible because it does insane amounts of damage that you cannot bounce back from. Your goal here is to fend off Zeno and Dufort with your spells. Don't just hide behind a building and cast spells at nothing to try and build up the *Bao Zakeruga* spell safely, because Dufort can cast spells much faster than Kiyo can and they WILL get their ultimate spell before you do. Just like the second battle against Rops and Apollo, it's a race to see who can get their ultimate spell first. Since it will take 6 book swats to knock out Dufort's book, I don't recommend even attempting it... You just have to keep him and Zeno at bay by firing spells at them and not giving them enough time to continuously cast attacks. If you're applying pressure, they'll usually run around more often than they would if you're just hiding behind an indestructible wall. Dufort almost never sits down and rests unless it's after he can be sure he's protected by his *Rashield* spell, so patiently waiting for their *Rashield* to go away and then trying to cast *Zaker* at Dufort is usually a decent tactic. Don't bother with *Rauzaruk* unless you decide to only cast it ONCE, because it will take up way too much time on the clock and give Zeno and Dufort ample time to catch up to you in the race to unlock the strongest spell by casting spells of their own even though you're invincible in your *Rauzaruk* state. Try for a few *Jikerdor* spells if you want, because those are good for building up *Bao Zakeruga* all the quicker. But what you really want to do is primarily focus on *Zaker, Rashield,* and *Zakeruga.* If you can get on top of that building with the orange roof, having the high ground will usually disorient Zeno and Dufort a bit. You'll be hard to hit as long as you can maneuver on top of the roof and you'll be able to cast spells at them from a safe distance that they can't do much about. Fight carefully and you should be able to unlock *Bao Zakeruga* before they maim you with *Zeo Zakeruga.* But it may take a handful of tries before fortune decides to smile on you and bestow you with the golden key to victory.

Lara Jill Miller's recordings got really screwed by whoever handled the audio for Fury. For years I've actually wondered who voiced Koko in this game, because other than Arcade Mode, all of Koko's lines are so scratchy and muffled. Same thing with Robbie Rist's audio for Eido. I actually thought Eido sounded more like Scott Menville (Eshros' VA)
@XZatchBellGamerX
@XZatchBellGamerX 2 года назад
Oh, absolutely. Whoever handled the audio for Mamodo Fury shouldn't have even been paid for this job.... The compression was so bad you would think that they were hard of hearing despite being in the sound engineering field. I'm pretty sure all that compression was done to make space on the disc as they prepared to port the game to Gamecube (which the Japanese version does not have), but it's SO bad that for the longest time I thought the audio for their performances was recorded digitally online from a horrible computer microphone. But there are a few sound clips in the game that were left-over by accident and feature the dialogue in perfect quality, such as Robnos and Ruku's lines. We could've had something with so much more quality if that person hadn't botched the project... It's probably for the best that we don't know their name, honestly. As for Koko's voice in this game, I think that's also partially the voice direction at work. The way she delivers the spells sounds so much more violent and visceral than how she sounds in the anime or Mamodo Battles. They really wanted to drive home that she was deep into her cruel personality and I actually didn't mind it. If only it didn't sound so dang compressed... Eido was strange, too, yeah. I used to think that they couldn't get his voice actor and had to use a stand-in, but that's actually not the case at all according to the ending credits.

LOL! I'm positive that's a bug in his dialogue. It seems to cycle between the usual "Go, Zatch!" and "I'm sorry, Zatch, I'll help you right away" and, for some reason, the dialogue he's supposed to use if time is running out or you get blasted by a deadly attack. All I know is that Kiyo REALLY thinks we need to defeat Zofis as soon as possible apparently. lol

The game requires you to be playing it on hard difficulty in order to get past Demolt. If the game is only letting you reach Demolt and Zofis blows up the staircase after that, then it means you're playing on normal difficulty.

Unfortunately, Zofis is not a playable character, probably because he only has 3 spells. I will upload a video in the future that shows you how to play as any non-playable character by modding the game, but that could be a while from now. If you'd like to try and figure it out for yourself before then, you can learn everything you need to know from this video made by the Mamodo Fury modding legend himself: Superrsonic. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-atjIu5cNXNc.html
