If you just picked up ESO on steam or have been playing for some time, you may be wondering what zones should I play through? Well in this video I go over 5 zones that I think are some of the best zones in ESO to play through. These zones span from having beautiful views, challenging content, great rewards, or fan favorites. Leave a comment down below letting me know what 5 zones you would recommend to players.

I think starting on a starter island is most important. The quests will leed you through the different zones and the entire questline of the faction.
@superdave8248
@superdave8248 2 года назад
Agreed. I'm saying this as a ESO beta tester who played only a couple of months after release and has only recently returned to the game. The starter zones are small, tend to have a easily manageable number of quests, and all the zone content is intended for starter players so it shouldn't give anyone any trouble. They also have a consider number of chests and resources. The starter zones will probably be the only time you may need to buy lockpicks. The game practically feeds them to you after wards. First, I've got to applaud the creators for the level of content they have in this game now. As a hardcore gamer who is now purely a casual player I can honestly say it would take me years to complete all the content. For example, if you are a crafter, you may never acquire every single craftable item in this game for a given craft line. There are just that many. And if you think you are going to get those items on your own discovery, you are insane. You want to be a member in active guilds who have a very active guild store. Because that is the only way you stand a chance at acquiring "most" of the crafting things in game. Next, never leave a zone until you have completed it. I made that mistake. I do a quest, see another quest giver, take their quest, see another take theirs. Next thing I know I'm on a long quest line that has me in a completely different zone and I can't even accept another quest because my quest log is full and I have some uncompleted quests in 6 - 8 different zones. It just gets insane. Three, get a mount. Upgrade that mount ... every ... single ... day. It is only 250 gold a day. Whether you are PVPing or doing dailies or special events, having a fast mount with high endurance is critical to completing those goals. Most major cities have a stall. Visit the stall attender and upgrade the mount. Four, if you aren't a subscriber, space is at a premium. Upgrade your storage to max level. Five, do your daily PVP and dungeon runs. Massive XP, good rewards, and money to boot. Six, is theft. You don't need to pickpocket every person you see. Instead focus on home invasion and larceny. Find a house or houses in a major city that doesn't have people living in them. Open every container. Great way to get recipes and plans as well. Pawn your ill gotten goods at the local fence. You should be able to average 1k - 2k gold a day for a couple of minutes of work.

Don't forget that for the base Alliance zones, you have the old tutorial islands! Many overlook them, but I still really like the quests there. Especially if you like characters like Razum-dar, you meet him first there and without that context, Auridon's intro can be a little more confusing. Especially for AD, it also has big implications for the Silvenar and the Green Lady, a plotline that's later picked up in Greenshade and Malabal Tor. Khenarthi's Roost for AD, Bleakrock Isle and Bal Foyen for EP, and Stros M'kai and Betnikh for DC!

A tip from an adventurer : I've been at this game on and off for some time and still trying to find a way to stay with it. I too enjoy the exploring part of this game and this game makes it so easy as the zones don't throw enemy after enemy at you like in Guildwars 2. Which was the reason I quit that game. In my opinion, finishing a zone in ESO and going on to the next one is not a really good idea as it turns into a grind and loss of interest. Just focusing on the main story in a zone and doing things as they turn up is a great way to play the adventure part of the game. If you want a fresh pace, then just hop into another zone and try out the main story there. Finishing zones should not be a priority.

The way that you are dumped into a zone that is way deep into the story line does make it confusing, even if you can tackle the content. Yeah definitely a good tip. One road ahead calms the mind. But I don't want to 100% a zone from the get go like you, that is precisely what stresses me out. So players should know that all zones have a storyline main quest which will take you from the beginning of the zone to the next one. This main quest is what has the most worthwhile things you need for progression, as well as Skill Points and class appropriate rewards. I feel the BEST option for not becoming overwhelmed is tovuse the "Zone Guide" (Square on the map screen for PS4). This puts you on Zone Story Quest-path, which is the main story most often. You'll see entire zone but not every little detail and behind every rock. That's for later imo anyway. The next thing s what changes my beard from Frill to Chill: - Go to Options. - Go to Interface. - Change "Compass Quest Givers" to OFF. - Change "Compass Active Quests" to FOCUSED. After this your Compass and world icons will not clutter your screen and Compass, NPC's won't charge at you and beg for assistance every chance they get. Only give waypointa to relevant and current adventure and your will find things like wayshrines and landmarks MUCH easier. I feel relaxed with guys on. Try it if you are like me. 😁

I started playing this game again this past week for the first time in years. I got it day one when it came out on Xbox, I had never played an MMO before. I started as a nord dragon knight in Ebonhart Pact, it was way different to any game I had ever played and was overwhelmed but the shear amount of content. I only got him up to level 10 before I started another character which I also only got to level 10 before I lost interest. Starting back up ~ 6 years later I didn’t expect to get far. I’m playing a Redguard Stamina Nightblade and loving it. Starting out on the tiny island of Stros M’kai (however it’s spelled) made it easy to get back into. I’m now level 30 almost done the main quest and about 1/3 of the way through the DC quest line.

on xbox open map and highlight zone quests in collection list and hold x button and it'll track the next story quest to do in that zone. when you follow these quest steps they will eventually lead to the next zone. it won't take you through all the stuff in the zone but it'll take you through each zone main story ark. after finishing main story i use this tool tip to go back and experience zone stuff now. also doing zone story questing leads to skill points. worth doing

I started in Vvardenfell, because Morrowind was my favourite Elder Scrolls game. Did everything in the zone guide, except the world bosses. I'll get those eventually. Even did some side quests, like getting the rubbings of all the ancestral tombs. Then I did the main story of summerset. I bought ESO Plus and wanted to do antiquities. Well, the best place to do that is Artaeum, which you get access to through this zone's main quest. I did complete the entire quest line, but haven't done much else there. I then went to South Elsweyr, because of the event. (Since you need to finish the 2nd main quest to get access to all the dailies) Still working on the rest of those. I plan on doing North Elsweyr next, just to complete Elsweyr, and then probably go back to Summerset and finish the rest of the zone guide. Although going to Stonefalls sounds like a good plan, too.

It's pretty important that you at least visit the first city in the first zone in your Alliance so you can start your Guild quest lines. That will have a large impact on late game play. Upon reflection, this sounds like fun. I've been playing ESO off and on for a while, but I've never taken a methodical approach to the game as a whole. I just started a Magicka Necro and I think I'll give this approach a shot, even using the flowchart. Thanks.

The sapiarch helmet is the best looking helmet in the game imo. I use it on my character since i got the motif. And it's true. The landscape and story of Summerset are one of the best in eso.

You mentioned Clockwork City, one of my favorite zones (I've decided one of my characters is determined to become an automoton because of that place) You mention Orsinium, one of my top 3 favorite storylines in the game. You mention Summerset, another of my top 3 favorites. Can we be friends? :p

I hear a lot of acclaim for Wrothgar, and one day I'll make my way there... But it's become something of a meme/joke for me, whenever I'm in a major city, whenever I hear Stuga saying 'Do you know how long I've been looking for you?', to which I just reply with 'oh, I know' and walk away. (It's a little thing, but it's always a little amusing for me. But like I said, one day I'll actually give Stuga a break and do the quests.) I've been visiting a lot of the zones lately. Been seeing various areas thanks to the gathering surveys. I find Rivenspire to be quite interesting, design-wise, and will one day do the quests through there to further explore the mystery of it.

Northern Elsweyr to start for dragon loot...big in the NA but not the EU server. Blackwood for crafting, because of the portal location. Gold coast for the Pickpocketing/Laundering. Bal Foyen for crafting needs. Auridon for the Dark Anchor fun. This is very good for 1-20 levels, needs for armor/weapons will move you on.

I found Skyrim story to be really cool and when you first go into blackreach its pretty awesome. Though so far all the stories have a similar premise, I've done fighters guild, Skyrim, morrowind, dark brotherhood. And they all have one character who betrays you at some point, and you can see it coming from a mile away, does this happen in every area? xD

Having done all the zones, just a few things to point out for newer players: - Decide what race/class you want. In general, it is better to play through the zones of the faction you are in based on your race. For example, if you are khajiit then Aldmeri Dominion is going to be far more lore-friendly than anything else. - That said, based on quests and zone design, my favorite faction zones are Daggerfall Covenant. My least favorite is Ebonheart Pact. - Although the base game zones are easier, you generally get better loot in the DLC zones. For example, many quests in base game zones give non-set items, which are effectively useless except for training up crafting. In many DLC zones, more quests give you set items. You can very quickly get 5 pieces of a set in those zones. Greymoor and Elsweyr are particularly good for this. - You can do Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood at low levels. However, they are far less frustrating if your character matches any of the following: Khajiit or Wood Elf, Nightblade, vampire, medium armor. If you are a high elf sorcerer, for example, you are going to have a hard time sneaking around without specialized equipment. Once you hit the equipment cap (160 champion points), it is easy to buy armor sets that help you sneak, otherwise you can try farming them yourself in Stormhaven and Deeshan. - Orsinium is designed to follow the main quest. You can do it before then, but a lot of what NPCs say makes less sense. - Never mind what you do, the lore will get messed up just because there are so many alternative zones. For example, there is a point in the main quest where someone dies, but you can still find them in another zone. You can even have weird situations where your quest log says "find person X" and you can find them in a DLC zone, but that is not what the quest wants so it does not recognize that you found them. Just don't get hung up on the lore. - Don't fall for one of the level up fast schemes that people talk about. You can level up to 50 really quickly if you really want to, and that might appeal to people who want to skip the main course and go straight to dessert. For your first character, explore and do quests. One problem with quick level up is that you will not have many skill points, so you are then going to have to go find skill points that the person doing quests would have already found. It's like a tortoise and hare situation: race forward then race backward, or just go forward at a normal pace. There days, I don't even touch XP boosts given out by login awards or events because I do not want to level up quickly.

How do you tackle all the base and dlcs zones on multiple characters? I completed Cadwell’s Gold on three characters before One Tamriel and haven’t played since 2016. I now have 8 max level toons. Does anyone really run all the dlc zones on all toons? Feels more like a job then. Are you penalized by not running all zones on all character? Thanks

Great vid. I wish the scaling hadnt been for all the zones. Maybe several groups of zones for different levels ranges. There seems to be less challenge as a solo player (can''t play that much) so everything has a "sameish" feeling. the story is good in most zones so that keeps me innterested but there is no feeling of danger or triumph in finally finishing a zone because you leveled.

I was adjusting the positioning of "The Armory" in my apt in Sommerset when I was suddenly teleported to another land! So I made sure the quest was set on one for the Sommerset land and went across the land I was on and went to another land then another by boat trying to get back to Sommerset! Then I got killed and had to rescue the prophet from this games version of "Hell" NOw I'm in another land that's virtually impossible to cross still trying to get back to Sommerset! QUESTION: When I played years ago there was a way to see all the maps at once! I figured if I did that I could see my apartment and click on it and teleport there! Maybe you can't see all the lands at once and pick one to go to now; I don't know! I also want to know how to avoid teleporting away when moving furniture in my apartment!

1. Summerset (Great dailies, environment, mobs, quests, and mats) 2. Clockwork City (Unique environment that captures steampunk, robotic/shadow mobs) 3. Southern Elsweyr (Easier to navigate than northern elsweyr, dragon spawns are nice, amazing questline fights/environment) 4. Blackreach (the surface is a carbon copy doo doo of Skyrim which disregards time but underground has some cool vampire asthetics and a castlevania-like court) 5. Rivenspire (One of the better questlines from the base game zones) 6. The Rift (I just like that autumn feel and its a better realistic redesign of Riften)

I wished I had played through all 3 Alliance zones before going to fight in Coldharbour that way I would know all of the characters in Coldharbour and they would know my character. Especially since you get credit for them with Cadwell's Silver and Gold. I'm planning on doing that on my next toon, especially since I have no desire to do Cadwell's Silver and Gold again lol.
