Please be aware of the need to mask up indoors or, preferably, outdoors when you use acrylic spray paints. They are made of plastic, which is not biodegradable, and the spray, when inhaled over time, leaves a permanent film of microscopic plastic particles on your lungs. Artists using sprays with no precautions over years have found they had to rely on portable oxygen tanks in order to breathe because their lungs were so constricted by the build-up of those microscopic particles.

I had so many art teachers in the 1990s who had just learned of the danger they had been putting themselves in and were hoping that they had not done themselves too much harm already. Not to mention infants or toddlers near or in areas where sprays are being used over years. Each one teach one!

Being in the medical field I strongly urge you to wear a mask every single time you are spray painting all these projects. Even the smallest cancer causing particles can accumulate in your lungs over time. I know it’s a hassle when you tell yourself, “ It’s just small paint job” but consider this divine intervention for your well being. I love your channel and you influence so many people who also want you to take care of yourself first. Keep up the good work!

Before I saw your comment I posted a similar warning. Artists using acrylic spray paints overtime have had to use portable oxygen tanks to breathe because their lungs were constricted by the build-up of a permanent film of non-biodegradable microscopic plastic spray particles.

@@starrbowie8649 Yup and what’s so concerning is that most people will use spray paint for a project here and there but the risk is multiplied for Liz and other RU-vidrs who paint many items year after year as part of their livelihood for their subscribers. Our diminishing health as we age makes us yearn for the feeling of invincibility in our youth for a do over.

I LOVE Dollar Tree DIY’s!! With inflation, the economy, and other factors I don’t understand well…the Dollar Tree has become a primary source of many items I’d otherwise spend MUCH more on at Target, Walmart etc. Your ideas and creative suggestions really help decorate my home without breaking my STRICT budget and limited funds. You make seriously inexpensive projects have the luxurious look of MUCH more expensive items. You’re creative talent and ability to teach others is so enjoyable!! To do the fluid pours and to get the paint to move you need Floetrol. Mix the paint, Floetrol and bottle water to the consistency of honey. Try that technique and your fluid pours will turn out amazing every time.

I like to add a little bit of water instead of the floetrol. The wt helps the paint move around too and the painting turns out matte instead of shiny.

@@maryellenbirch2076 you will need to mix the Floetrol and paint first. Check the consistency to know how much water to add to a consistency of warm honey. Use bottled water instead of tap. Mix one color at a time. There is a book on Amazon by Marcy Ferro that if full of information.

@@maryellenbirch2076 you’re welcome. I have done fluid pours and love it. Marcy’s book is on Amazon and it’s loaded with information. She does have a channel called Mixed Media Girl. Go back about 2 years and you will find tutorials on how she mixes only those 3 ingredients to get cells. Having a color wheel is very handy as well. Knowing a little about color theory helps not to make mud.

The frosted glass with wood accents...it might be a good idea to coil the wood pieces while they are still damp with stain and let them dry that way. Then when you cut the length you need and glue them to the container they will already have a curve to them and they might stay in place easier. These are cute!

The Dollar Tree nearest to me has almost nothing like you are able to find. Makes it hard to source pieces like you can get but do the best I can. I'd go nuts with some of the stores you have acess to!

I use the half circle labels that come with the pizza pans and pie plates, make a sturdier template by tracing the half circle (and turning so you get a whole circle) onto cardboard and have a more or less permanent template for future trays.

String your beads onto a string and horizontally stretch the string with the beads pushed a little apart to spray paint them.

Great video! I particularly like that you supply the links to the products you use. Very few crafters seem to do that. I don’t understand why that is so. I for one could care less if they are affiliate links. Why not? You are providing your talent and time so I”m glad to be able to have a chance to say thank you by purchasing products via affiliate links. I sure hope they are affiliate links! I’m always saddened if I buy a product I discovered as a result of a crafters video and they receive no credit.
