Next they peel a battery to expose themselves to acid. Then after a minimum of 70 dollars labor in a developed country...... What the heck is going on? Lots of the use of No wire stripper, at 5 minutes it looks like some sort of torture device. Wait a minute. Welding two razor blades together? Be still, my beating heart. I must get back to work. But as I see shavings, it seems like a bomb may be built. I hope not.
Thank you for sharing this! It could definitely come in handy to know some time! And you did a nice job demonstrating your work so others could see how it’s done! But please - DO be more safety conscious! You don’t want to get seriously injured and have to deal with the aftermath, plus you never know if kids might watch and get hurt trying to do things the way that you did! Thanks again!
New sub here like the way you look at thingys , the carbon jumper on the failed LED in series with the others, fault rectified. I will never look at small disposable batteries in the same way ever again. Thanks for your time an ingenuity leads me to look outside the box more often in my home workshop.
Yes.. Thank you for your opinion. Please help me share this video so more people know. Don't forget to follow the channel to watch new videos! Have a nice day !
Unfortunately, in Germany there are no longer any carbon rods in the batteries. At least not in mine. I recently needed some for a great arc, but in every battery I sawed up there was only gel and no carbon. Coal is probably now too expensive for ailing Germany. ;)
Pencil lead is a mix of graphite and clay. When I was a kid I connected a 12v transformer to pencil lead and a piece of iron and got a lot of heat and possibly a small arc as l remember. I think the harder lead has less graphite than the softer lead.
The carbon rods are in what (at least in the US) are now called 'heavy duty' (aka carbon-zinc) batteries, rather than the (now) more common 'alkaline' batteries
I get you're trying to get more watch time, but with good editing this video could be 10 minutes and most people wouldn't click off, also wear protection when handling anything connected to electricity 😳 7:00
As an Electrical Engineer I love innovation, "hacks", & thinking outside the box in general. But you my friend are doing some very, very dangerous things in this video. So no offence but I'm gonna point them out, & hopefully some of your viewers are gonna be more careful than you if they want to try your "50(?) inventions" themselves. _(Where are the other 45 btw? 😛)_ - You are cutting wood with a saw for metal at 00:05, which doesn't even have a proper handle. - You are handling carbon fine powder without gloves throughout the video (& I think it's safe to assume no mask/glasses either). - You are bypassing the burnt LED at 10:10, thus increasing the current that flows through the rest of the LEDs in the chain. Best case scenario: they get burnt soon too, worst case scenario: you start a fire. - You are cutting towards your wrist at 19:12. 😰 - You are handling highly corrosive HCl (hydrochloric acid) at 13:38 without gloves, & no precaution in case of spillage. - You are casually working right next to foaming HCl while breathing its toxic Cl (chlorine) fumes. - You are using a red hot soldering iron right next to the flammable H (hydrogen) released from HCl. So, I suggest you be more careful with your videos. You are not putting only yourself in danger, but also many of the *1.4 Million* people that have watched & may try to replicate the things you do in this video. Remember kids, science is more fun if can you do it *without* mutilating yourself.
Excellent video Your ingenuity and intelligence coupled with some creativity resulted in these amazing simple solutions for what may be complex problems for most individuals grasp. You must have received your pHD from the famous McGyver University. Well done and really enjoyed watching video.

Protip: I searched for this exact video to watch it so that I don't have ads. Even though I have YT Premium, it will still play ads if you use the remote control on your Chromecast and play the video while you are connected via casting.

Well done. I'll try to build such a welding tool myself. :) But probably I'll just buy the flux... I figured out your DIY flux is zinc chloride (ZnCl₂). It is formed chemically when the zinc pieces (Zn) are decomposed by the hydrochloric acid (HCl) in that toilet cleaner. Formula: Zn + 2 HCl => ZnCl₂ +H₂. Dissolving the zinc pieces in a solution of hydrochloric acid and ammonia (in equal parts) is supposed to produce a very good flux (soldering water). *CAUTION: These acids are extremely corrosive and dangerous for people and the environment. Always wear protective clothing and keep away from children!* .
Thank for not having music in the background. I like the sounds of you working and even the family in the background. Have your wife come in with a plate of food, saying “stop playing with those stupid batteries for five minutes and get some food!!” If you need music have a friend who play an instrument next to you and have him or her get in the picture every once in a while - hand you a battery or tool or smile or say something sarcastic. Opening the same batteries does get a bit tedious, so a bit of editing might be welcome. 😊. Thank for your work and ideas. You are helping people all over the world. Jim
Thank you for sharing. You are very creative and insightful......however..... this stuff might only be needed if you have survived an zombie apocalypse or nuclear war. Otherwise a trip to Home Depot or Walgreens may save you all the time and energy you put into this.
I would not be surprised if the repaired, and freshly painted fan blade rips itself apart sooner or later, due to the eccentric spin, caused by the added weight on one blade.
The first experiment using a carbon rod as a spot welder is a dead short to a battery, the batteries are made to be shorted like that, they could heat up and leak or cause a fire.. I quit watching this
In the first clip using battery carbon for a spot welding demo, the wire showed a black and red rubber band alligator jaw, but while connecting to the battery, both wire were of black rubber alligator jaw. Request to check the videos before uploading.
