@@aqua_wt7472 Them being connected physically has nothing to do with the name United States. They're called United States because the states are part of a union. The term contiguous is used when referring to the 48 states that are all connecting.

My us history teacher said that Texas was the only state that was a country and I corrected her because Hawaii also was its own country but she said she forgot it existed and then said it didn’t count so apparently Hawaii is invalid
In fairness, RI's borders were not properly drawn on the map. Actually most of Southern New England through the Mid-Atlantic States were warped/inaccurately drawn.

why is everyone forgetting about Michigan? She pointed at wisconsin like it was actually Michigan, she even looked at it and said, "we are the mitten". We seriously need a rep who KNOWS where Michigan is.

On behalf of the state of Michigan, we NEED a new representative, she has disappointed in every single video. She said we are the mitten and literally pointed at Wisconsin. How? Edit- someone in this thread did make a good point by saying that she’s getting a lot of hate. We can also just hope she missed the state with the pointer. With that said, we could still use a new rep.

@@coryjones8066 I would not be able to accurately pinpoint Israel on a map but I know a bunch about their politics. You don't have to know exactly where something is to know about it, also Maryland in that map was partially cut off

@@levistokes3960 It's the second biggest, which is pretty well-known in Texas expect for the fact that we sometimes forget about Alaska... lol not a lot of people there compared to Texas so it's easy to forget sometimes

She pulled out a map and showed me where Washington state is and where Washington DC is and then asked which one I lived in. I insisted both! I've lived in both! She was convinced I was too stupid to understand her when she insisted on them being two separate places. She called my mum to tell her I would need to have be told by my parents once and for all WHICH Washington I had actually lived in. My mum told her on the phone: Heather knows. She's lived in both! Teacher was then super embarrassed.

Michigan did that cause some people like to put the pointer under something theyre pointing to. She even specified “the mitten” so she definitely knows where it is she just either pointed to the one next to it on accident or likes to put it next to the state instead, not realizing it looked like she was pointing to wisconsin
@@veganmocha Rhode island is fairly small... but she was quite off. There's a big difference between the DC area and Rhode island. To be fair though, the map was so weirdly shaped that I think it cut off the cape and most of RI
i don't know what to put here, my bad But Wisconsin isn’t underneath Michigan it’s to the left of Michigan so she just didn’t know where her own state was.
