CORRECTIONS
The price in the video for Xenogears digital is incorrect. I say the correct price which is 9.99, but the video shows 14.99 by mistake. Tomba 1 is also incorrect, it's weirdly more expensive then 2 at 9.99.
The 3rd entry in the Parasite Eve (The 3rd Birthday) is available only in the PS3 store now that the webstore is closed. Only the Vita version is unavailable because of that. I will correct this further by including this game in my next video.
The price for Klonoa: Door to Phantomile physical complete is much more than 100 bucks. That's the price for a PAL version I mistook for a North American one. The only cop of Klonoa physical right now is priced at over $1900! However I think this price is inflated since it's the only one available and it comes with a bonus CD. Price Charting puts the CIB price of this game at around $300.
There is a working emulator for PS3, although 40% of the catalogue doesn't work properly yet. I will also correct this further in the follow up video.
I apologise for these mistakes.

@@ru_gamerandotaku2431 RPCS3 is a very good PS3 emulator that also supports Vulkan. If you have a good CPU, there are several hundred playable PSN games. but u will need a guide on how to set it all up.

tell That to the entire gaming community who apparently are buying into pc standards like complete tards seriously,everything they demand now is frames and engines and dlcs and here i am wondering why the fuck can't it be like the good old days,buy a game once and that's it,you own the entire thing the same goes for digital nowadays they trash talk about disc formats like if everyone in the world had a decent internet connection and crazy storage... besides money to burn because fuck,no store guarantees you safety after the anonymous hack,neither sony,Nintendo,steam or xbox gives you guarantee on your private info and everything comes with licenses that they can disclose whenever they want...it's on their terms of agreement,checknit out fuck that,i still have all my cartridges and discs,from nes,trough playstation,trough dreamcast all the way to ps4 and yeah,i still own most of this games,a thing the community has so much filled their mouths saying "they'll stop working overtime" almost 20 years playing and still working

This is an incredible video. So many obscure titles, great footage, voiceover script and input on different versions available. The amount of hours you must have put into price research for physical (and digital) is highly appreciated. Personally though, not many of these titles are for my taste but I'm glad to broaden my horizon and knowledge of old titles.

I would also recommend Persona 3: Portable on the Vita digital store because that’s the most refined Persona 3 experience and has the most replayability by far. Physical copies on PSP are also crazy expensive, even just the disc. Great video, btw. You’re doing God’s work.

I grabbed LSD Dream Emulator and Einhander but I'm sure I'm missing several others. Great idea! I'm seriously considering it. Not sure if I will make an entire video about games only in the japanese store, but certainly at least will make a list that includes some of them. Will also probably have to explain how to purchase games in the JP store since people will need to purchase yen PSN cards. So yeah, in one way or another you can expect a video with JP exclusive digital games.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I know about modding the classic mini consoles, but am not familiar with modding a fully fledged console like the PS3. But yeah, that's a way to circumvent the closing of the stores, for sure. But it's not something that a lot of people are inclined to do, more because it would take some work and knowledge on their part... cool of you to point this out though! Thanks again!

I've actually been considering softmodding my PS2 recently, given I've an Action Replay MAX, meaning I can do the PS1 game exploit if I can get ahold of the AR disc, as well as a compatible thumbstick drive. I originally started looking into softmodding it so I can play the recent PS2 fan port of Mario 64, given I don't have a computer capable of running the PC port ATM. But now that you mention it, that would also be quite useful for playing digital PS1/2 games on native hardware.

@@eareboucas Sim, isso aconteceu ontem. Os 4 jogos do Arc the Lad, Gaia Seed e Tomba 1 e 2 foram retirados da PS Store do Vita. Sem previo anuncio diga-se de passagem, bela sacanagem. Mas pelo que pesquisei foi decisÃo da distribuidora desses jogos e não da Sony. A Atlus começou a retirar alguns tambem, mas nenhum dos que eu coloquei na lista por enquanto. Mas melhor correr pra pegar os Personas... No Ps3 pelo que eu to vendo no meu aqui, esses jogos ainda aparecem, mas como eu já comprei, nao consigo ter 100% certeza.

Actually, the third entry in the series is still available on the PS Store (depending on region) . Remember, the title of the third game is called, "The 3rd Birthday", and it was exclusive to the PSP.

Great video got yourself a new subscriber I brought another ps3 last year and the only game I was committed to getting was life is strange Was a bit expensive but it's one of my favourite games Even in 2020 I had a feeling that they were going to kill off the ps3 PlayStation store

@@FromTheVoidGames Oh yeah, I was involved in the whole video game trading/collecting thing from 2006 until about 2018, so I know how lucky I am to have complete copies of every Suikoden game, Vanguard Bandits (plus a second disc only version and the hardcover strategy guide), and the Wild ARMs games. I had no idea Front Mission 3 was going for so much these days though.

Probably just a big campaign so everybody buys in panic games from the store; and before the due date of the closing Sony says "nah, people want to have that store and we won't close it" - and made millions in the process.

I actually bought Black Rock Shooter years ago because of the song in the Project Diva games. A hidden gem indeed. I still have my physical copies of the PS1 versions of Xenogears, Silent Hill, MGS and Parasite Eve. Good recommendations all around IMO. I would highly recommend Corpse Party and Fatal Frame 2 as well. Also if you’re into the bullet hell genre I would suggest the Gundemonium games.

Just bought Silent Hill 1, Infamous 2 with Festival of Blood and all it's Dlc's, alongside New Goblin's playable character for Spiderman 3. It wasn't that cheap, since I had to buy a 20 dollars card because I ain't from North America... was it worth it? yes.

I got on my ps3 (still have 3 of them working). Put a few of them in shopping cart. Only 1 I missed was blackrock shooter (have a PSP also) since I couldnt find it. Sad times for many of us. I remember back in august of 2009, I'd just got my 1st HDTV (still have that too) knowing my PS3 (got it next day) would be my 1st and for a few years only source of HD anything (though I did get HD channels on cable a few years later). Even now though I've got a PS4, the PS3 is still a great source of fun not only for games but for watching the piles of bluray movies n dvd's I've got. In the 11+ years I've had it there hasn't been more than a week straight that I've not had my PS3 on n that will continue so long as I have at least 1 working.

Thank you for putting this all together. Very informative and full of heavy hitters. I'd like to mention that although Steam has most of the Ys series, Ys Seven is not there. It is available on the PSN store for 14.99 as of right now. Must have imo if you are a fan of the series. In keeping true to your video, the going price for a physical copy of Ys Seven for the PSP is well over 100.00. *Edit* I was wrong about Ys Seven not being available on Steam. It is indeed available but note that it's 24.99 on Steam vs. 14.99 PSN. U.S. region. I cannot speak for other regions.

Good video -- not a whole lot of exclusive digital games per se, but a lot of good recommendations on games that are rare or hard to find as-is and will only become more prohibitively expensive over time if people are left with no other options (sans emulation). It would be a crime to, at the very least, not get Black Rock Shooter (an interesting PSP exclusive) and Oreshika (an awesome Vita exclusive). Oreshika has the luxury of an uncommon English-Asian physical version and no really worthwhile DLC, but it might blow up like A.W. Phoenix if left unchecked.

For sure, physical games will probably become even more expensive... it's like I said in the video a lot of people would rather never resort to piracy, and they are moraly correct which is great. Do you advise spending money on all these old games?What if they need patches from store?Are you going to buy new hard drives to store all these games?

It really is up to each individual. I prefer having games through legitimate means. And these games I included here, however old they may be, are some of the best times you can have with video games, on par with anything from the more recent generations in terms of fun to be had. And since they are on the cheap side, many are 6 bucks, I would say it's totally worth it. Don't think they will ever need patches. What can happen is in the future sony shutting down the internet access as a whole for the PS3 and Vita, and you can't even download the titles you own. To have all games downloaded, I spread them around my PS3 and my 2 Vita memory cards, and still have room to spare. Many of these are very light in terms of store space.

If you've got a PS3, you should still be able to grab the original Crash and Spyro games as well as Legacy of Cain. They can be transferred to Vita too, or at least I did.

Great games for sure. I contemplated all of them. Didn't include Spyro and Crash more because of the remakes, but your point is 100% valid, there is a lot of value in preserving and having the originals. Will consider this for the follow up video. Legacy of Cain also almost made the 1st list, but it is on steam, although right now it is removed by Square Enix, which is super odd. Ill also consider for the 2nd list ;)
