I haven't studied French since high school (about 17 years ago). Got 31/50 so I suppose I remember some stuff! I feel inspired to start learning again.

Pronunciation : 7/10 Grammar : 10/10 Spelling : 6/10 Translation : 8/10 Conjugation : 6/10 TOTAL : 37/50 I really enjoyed doing this and found it very helpful. Thank you Dylane, this must have taken a long time to put together but it is very much appreciated, please do more of these if possible.

When I was 30 I started to learn English and I am happy with it. Now I am 50+ and I started to learn French this February hoping that it is not too late to try. :) I did your test and got 38/50 (6, 9, 5, 9, 9) and it gives me hope that it is not too late. Thank you. :)

I'm really surprised! I got 41/50 for the whole test, broken down like this: Pronunciation - 6/10 Grammar - 9/10 Spelling - 8/10 Translation - 9/10 Conjugation - 9/10 I'm re-learning French. I passed my GCSE 'O' level over 50 years ago but never spoke French again until about 18 months ago when I began to try again using the internet and CDs - but I didn't try very hard until just a few months ago. Thanks for the quiz - I feel much better about my progress now!

Hi, I liked the video very much. It has been years since I tested my French skills. My scores in order of your tests were 8/10, 8/10, 5/10, 4/10, 3/10. I need to understand the foundations again. Thanks for your nice video. 28/50 - I passed, but barely. I am not sure if I should attempt a course taught all in french or not.

Thank you Nancy for commenting your score. It's a tricky test, it's all about the irregular and exceptions so 28/50 is actually not that bad 😉 To answer your question for the course in French or not. I usually say that it's more about how much you can focus more than the language itself, especially to brush your foundations. If even in English you can't focus more than 30 minutes, then take a course in English. If you have a great attention span and can focus easily, then go for French. I hope it helps 🙂

@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane I do have good concentration. When I really want to learn something, I am able to put my mind into it. I listen to music on french stations, love French bands and singers. I would love to read a novel in French as well. I suppose the best way is to have my french/english dictionary handy when I read. Never too late to start learning.

A very good and needful test for me as a beginner. Though I scored 38/50, I discovered I need to review my lessons because I ought to score close to 50 as I have gone through all the aspects of the questions, but I have not reviewed most of them for quite a while and was not sure which option to choose. I found this video by chance. I have not learned french since 2 years ago. I wanted to see how much I remember. Pronunciation: 5/10 Grammar: 5/10 Spelling: 8/10 Translation: 5/10 Conjugation: 5/10 Total: 28/50 I feel embarrassed but there were some words I was not taught and therefore I guessed. This has inspired me to learn french again. I hope I can be good enough in some months to get all the questions right.😄

I got really lucky on the Conjugation questions. I'm also going to start checking my pronunciation. On Question 6, I couldn't tell the difference between the two options. I'm very rusty now. I made straight A's in high school. My results: p 5/10, g same sp 7/10 trans 7/10, and conju 2/10. Would love to improve. I'm in a state that is not a francophone. Instead they speak Spanish, but I just love French better. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these enjoyable lessons.

You did very well Campus! Seeing your results, you are probably B1 but that's not counting your ability to speak and understand. Try to read and watch TV in French as well. If you can find a conversation group that will definitely help :)

I am making little progress in french and now I know on which part I have to focus most SPELLING, TRANSLATION AND CONJUGATION here I come. .............. Really amazing test you must have to do such test once a month or two. So that we keep track our progress. Salut, Dylan, it wasn’t the ‘à that I had trouble with . It was the ‘ch’. My dictionary says it is pronounced like the ‘ch’ in chien but on the quiz the correct answer sounded more like the ‘j’ in jouer. My apologies, my keyboard doesn’t have IPA symbols. . Love your lessons! So clear, very helpful!.
