Maybe if they ever want to introduce him again they could probably use him as a teaching tool for children to teach them about non-verbal communication alongside another puppet that is well less monstrous and more like a little kid I think that would be a very good
(at least in my experience) a lot of autistic kids find stuff thats scary/creepy to other kids more interesting or run-of-the-mill, so i think itd be cool if they brought frazzle back to make friends w/julia considering the aforementioned point + they both communicate in “usual” but still completely fine ways :]
I agree, what amateur wrote that shit, anyway? Even the talents of Caroll Spinney couldn't save this out-of-tune, ridiculous headscratcher of a song performed to a mambo beat.
I loved how Gina was a "I can do anything" woman from owning a daycare to having a degree in veterinary care she was a role model for every little girl and still is
you know I'm starting to wonder if Sesame Street suffered from a mini recession in between seasons, because I guess sending Slimey to Space really ate up some money, considering so many characters and businesses were dropped which is why Gina's daycare disappeared and she went into veterinary medicine
I completely appreciate your attempts to please your audience by correcting mistakes and striving to do better. That said, please don't feel you need to apologize. These videos have been great so far! Keep up the awesome work! :)
Hope LaMond, also I did a whole series on my channel about reused puppets that appeared in the Happytime Murders! It is very interesting if you want to check it out!
Lefty sings a song called ,"Would you like to buy an 'O'" to Ernie that reminds me of Shere Khan trying to tempt Mowgli from Disney's Jungle Book. Riiiigghhtt!😆😆😆
@@viper575theviperiscoming4 I remember that skit as if it were yesterday! "You take the golden AN, put it in the tan van, give it to Dan, who will take it to Fran."
@@garthdavis4320 He had a female performer, but was usually referred to as male. (Though female pronouns are used in the 1977 song "Big Bird's Lullaby", that's the only time that happened)
Frazzle sounds like he has autism (like julia) but higher on the spectrum (as in while julia can talk, albeit with simple words while frazzle can only make grunts) that and the fact that he has a problem with crayons and Rabbits ears (probably due to sensory issues) I see him like this because I have the same problems (i talk better online than I do irl and I have some sensory issues)
Frazzle frightened me initially, but I eventually came to LOVE his song. This was thanks to the Monster Hits VHS that I, too, watched endlessly in preschool.
Roosevelt was played by the original Gordon Matt Robinson I think he was only on Sesame st for something like 3 seasons not sure whether he still voiced Roosevelt Franklin or some other guy did the voice of him a few years later after Matt left the show it'd be interesting to find out.
Oh please...without the context of the intro to Part 1 it wouldn’t have been as informative and you would have had an equal number of people complaining that characters weren’t included, or were included in the list and why, and why not...so in the end you’ve saved yourself a lot of time...keep up the great work. 👍🏼
I think it was important your intro for part one as long as it was. Without talking about the rules in part one there'd be more questions and complaints in the comments.
Your long intros are part of your charm in my opinion. You really don’t need to apologize! Thank you for also taking the time to give the humans a proper thank you as well. Lefty was such a great character! I’ll miss him a lot. I actually love the idea of Sesame Street having a secret dark side!
0:48 - Frazzle 3:05 - Harvey Kneeslapper 4:28 - Professor Hastings 5:22 - Herbert Birdsfoot 6:46 - Joey and Davey Monkey 8:12 - Kingston Livingstone III 9:54 - Lefty the Salesman 11:09 - Leo the Party Monster 12:16 - Little Bird 13:51 - Little Chrissy
I take the Golden AN, and I put it in the tan truck. No, that's not right. I always liked Lefty trying to sell Ernie an 'O'. It'll cost you just a nickel. And I still pronounce it "BA-na-nah"
I remember Herbert Birdsfoot. I loved Lefty, the salesman!! I especially loved the gangster/criminal skits as a kid, and always wished they'd done more of them.
Little Bird! I knew him from somewhere and was always having to explain who he was. He was on a pillowcase I had with lots of different Sesame Street characters
Frazzle was always my favorite one, even when I was little I liked the scary monsters: my favorite Land Before Time character was Sharp Tooth, my favorite character from Gremlins 2 was Mohawk (the scariest, most evil looking gremlin) & my favorite Sesame Street Muppet was Frazzle
Most Muppets performed by the original performers would be retired after they no longer worked for CTW since they would have to come up with new performers. Little Bird was supposed to have flown south and didn't return to Sesame Street, which happened early on. She was suppose to be a counterpart to Big Bird.
The Harvey Kneeslapper skit I most vividly remember is when Ernie is playing Robin Hood, and Harvey shows up to sign up as one of the "Merry Men". But Ernie finds him so insufferable, he decides to switch to "Robin Hood and His Angry Men" instead.
Harvey: Knock, knock Harvey's victim: Who's there? Harvey: Dionne Harvey's victim: Dionne who? Harvey: (slaps a capital D on victim's sweater) "D on YOU!!!" 😆🤣😆
I Love Linda Bove, She was Born Deaf and taught me Sign Language, plus her and Bob were an Item on the Show, don't Believe me just watch the Christmas Special where Cookie Monster eats the Tree, and Big Bird gets Lost.
This video is full of things I didn't realize I had forgotten! Little Bird was my fave featured in this video. BUT Lefty cracks me up, and I remember his "o" song on a s. street record I listened to. Thanks for the nostalgia trip!
Little Chrissy is almost like a Muppet version of Little Richard! And I remember Kingston! His song “Be Yourself” is one of my favorite Sesame Street songs from the past seasons!
I did a drawing of Little Bird when I was 3 years old, and I never understood why he disappeared so soon? Oh! I remember Little Crissy! I miss him so much!
PRESUMED NEXT ONES: 1: Preston Rabbit 2: Shelley The Turtle 3: Maurice Monster 4: Professor D. Of course I'm patient. ;)
It MIGHT be that Lefty was an homage to The Race Tout from the old Jack Benny radio shows from the 40's. Might be worth a listen. Thanks for these look backs!
I remember Joey and Davey being seen on "Elmo Says Boo!", and Lefty the Salesman being seen in "The Monster at the End of this Book". For some reason (at 24 years old) I still have them both.
Little Chrissy and the Alphabeats! Their songs were awesome and so was his voice. Loved singing along. And Lefty the Salesman! Loved that guy! One of the sketches I always looked forward to. "Wouldja like to buy an "O" circular and neat, looks almost like a doughnut, almost good enough eat!" Lol
Okay, my family owned that Monster Hits VHS too! Admittedly I was scared of Frazzle as a kid, however seeing how cuddly he is personlity-wise as an adult makes me think bringing back Frazzle would be a GREAT idea now to help kids not be so apprehensive of people with deformities or whatever-Frazzle never chose to look like that, did he?
I've just watched a Banjo-Kazooie Did You Know Gaming right before this. I picked up your use of the Click Clock Wood music starting at 12:18 for Little Bird's segment. Good choice!
Ahh, Frazzle, Little Bird and Little Chrissy... I only largely recall Harvey Kneeslapper, Professor Hastings, Herbert Birdsfoot and Lefty through "The Muppet Alphabet Album," which I had on cassette as a kid.
Over the summer, I worked with our childcare center's toddlers. By the end of the day, it was just me and one little boy. One of his favorite things to do with me was watch vintage Sesame Street clips. The Frazzle was actually one of his favorites. He loved going "BLAAAHBLBLBLAAA" with him.
Right now is November, 21, 2019. Harvey kneeslaper, roosevelt franklin, Don music, Sherlock Hemlock, Captin Vegetable, Kermit The frog, Forgetfull jones, Lefty The Salesman, Little bird, Betty lou, and biff and sully, lella Maria and louis's daughter and miles Gordon and Susan's son also but had their growthsperts have returned in sesame streets 50th anniversary celebration. but betty lou, Little bird had cameos.
Yours are some of my all-time favorite series ever on youtube! Really well researched and put together, thank you very much for doing these :) I have a deep dive coming out this coming Monday that digs into and imagines what a new Sesame Street Toy line COULD look like. Dives into what ALMOST was as well with the Palisades line. I have a feeling you will probably get a kick out of it :) Thanks again for being you, appreciate all the time and dedication you put in
I loved Harvey Kneeslapper. Reminds me so much of Rip Taylor! I vaguely remember my younger cousins watching the monkeys, but they were decidedly after my time. I also remember Lefty The Salesman and Leo The Party Monster. Little Chrissy was incredible. I miss him terribly. He's right up there with Don Music for me.
Harvey Kneeslapper reappeared in the 50th anniversary special, with Eric Jacobson essentially using a shrill version of his Grover voice. Interestingly, I thought he also did Lefty in his cameo since he sounds similar to another of his characters (Bert), but as it turns out, that was Ryan Dillon (Elmo).
Don't forget Roosevelt Franklin, The Amazing Mumford, Slimy the Worm, Sam the Robot, The Two Headed Monster, The Honkers, Barkley, the Yip-Yips, and Simon the Soundman...
Pretty much what happens with most popular shows or studios when the Creator dies. When Walt Disney died the company started making box office bombs, and when Stephen hillenburg died Nickelodeon started making spin offs that they knew what upset hillenburg if he was still alive, and flanderised the SpongeBob cast until they were just OneNote shells of their former selves.
Apparently Lloyd Morrisett, co-creator of Sesame Street, died recently. He was 93 years old. He and Jim Henson deserve to rest in peace after what they created, and how it touched the lives of many, many children over the generations.
