With the success of my last Tips & Tricks video I thought I would take it up a notch. Hope you enjoy this type of video, if you want to skip to the blueprints you can do that here: 16:52. Twitch Stream: / boyert Twitter: / theboyert
By the way, there is a trick to avoid breaking lockpicks. When you miss 3 times, cancel the action before lockpick brakes and get back to to it. This way lockpick HP resets and you can attemp to unlock over and over again.

Here's a little pro-tip regarding camouflage and visibility that I discovered recently: You probably already know this, but you can actually almost always camouflage yourself completely AND simultaneously prevent Kyle from smearing guts on his stupid face and obstructing his/your vision lol. Here's how: Press and hold the button to camouflage like you normally would, but watch the little circle gauge closely and release the button as soon as the gauge is full instead of holding it through the entire "smearing" animation. That's all there is to it. It works because of a confluence of three facts. 1. The "smearing" animation Kyle does with his hands actually lasts longer than it takes to completely fill the camouflage action gauge. 2. The "face smearing" portion of the animation doesn't start until after thr gauge is actually full. 3. When you release the camouflage button the animation cancels immediately. So if you ignore the animation and only go by the circle gauge, and release the camouflage button as soon as the gauge is full, the _vast_ majority of the time you can cancel the "face smearing" part of the animation and stop Kyle from smearing any guts on his face. This preserves your full vision aside from the orange tint, which is fine. It sounds like the kind of trick that isn't all that useful, but it actually is extremely useful, especially for nighttime or dark places where visibility is already poor without camouflage guts in your eyes. This trick works for me probably 95% of the time. Give it a shot next time you think of it.
Either that or just don't use the camouflage and instead go after the cloak potion that the witch gives you even though it's a little more difficult to craft it's a lot better than using the camouflage.
I saw another video where this trick was explained differently, so having more things to time the release is good. In that video, it showed the moment you bring your arms up into the screen, and start to run your hands together, is when you release. Even if you don’t get it perfectly, you spread far less guts on your screen.
I’ve been wanting to play this since about 5 years ago, I finally got the game yesterday on my birthday party, thanks for this, I’ll be sure to keep all of your tips in mind and get every blueprint
@@mistrjt9213 I know right? The core gameplay loop is so fun, it does get a little boring after 10-15 hours in but hey, just take a two or three day break from the game and keep playing. I love this game and will be always one of my favorites
You can farm medikits from the tower. just go to sleep and wake up in mornng, go to quatermaster and collect medikit. he also gives crafting supplies too so you can craft 2 or medikit free easily. you might have to farm for like 5 minutes and you'll get like 20 medikits
For those playing Nightmare Mode, Night is twice as long and zombies are about 3 times as hard so what I recommend is going for perks that are an instakill or try to avoid fights entirely with the vault perk
I agree with this and the Korek machete can't be used either on nightmare mode so you can't cheese it. Also there's the problem with vaulting, sliding in any other ability now uses stamina including the stomp ability, and any takedown ability, so you can't use that stuff as much. Plus the last perk on the power level skill is changed so you don't have infinite fight stamina.
*Beginners tip:* at the start of the game before you have the drop kick ability and you want to disable your opponents, DEFINITELY get the slide feature, because you can sprint and slide into your opponents which almost always trips them for a good five seconds and during this time you can go Ham on them with any weapon- maybe even chop their head off 😬
I used to be so concerned about losing my lockpicks while lockpicking so avoided them, but once I started cracking them they got so fun and now the very hard locks looks easy to me.
Also you realize you can get such good stuff out of the harder locks. I've gotten orange tier weapons and weapon mods through the very hard locks. Definitely worth it if you can get to the locks without getting attacked.
I just started playing this morning so if anyone has any amazing, must-do things to do first, let me know! 🤓 This game is so fun! Not sure why I waited six years to play this!!
I recommend trying to get combat and agility as fast as you can, because they make you untirable from combat and parkour, also, there's a few duplicate glitches, not saying it's needed, but if medkit looting is too annoying,it's easier to just do a dupe.
As soon as you get in old town get the quest from the gunsmith. In the end you will get the angel sword 🗡 blueprint. The angel sword is awesome. You can also get the blueprints for the excalibur in the slums. It has only seven hits but what for a hit. The Koreck sword is on top of a roof. On the map the building looks like a C but one side is longer then the other. On the roof in between sand bags you will see a tool box. You have to kick it over and over and overand over eventually it will open, over 70 kicks I think, and you can get the blueprint. The Koreck can not be repairedbut it is very strong.
Just found out an easy way to level up power. When I was going for the blueprint on the bridge there was so many zombies and what I did was gather them around the oil on the ground then thrown a fire cracker. If you throw the fire cracker on the oil it will light it up and then I was just allowing the zombies to walk through it. There was so many 50exps showing up and I leveled up super fast. I would do that or I would just gather up a huge group then hit them all with a molotov.
I did something similar with this. There is a power station where the zombies just respawn everyday and its next to a safe house. So I just camp there at night and throw molotovs at the zombies, go to sleep, camp, rinse and repeat
I like to farm power and money/small loot on that bridge too. My favorite way is to stand on the hood of a van (not the rood, but the windshield area,) and kick zombies in the head using the "finish" stomp. After you kill most of the zombies in the area you can get on top of the van and jump up and down and it'll draw more of the zombies who haven't come over yet. Once you kill them all, just run to the other end of the bridge and there'll always be more. By the time you kill all those zombies, the zombies on the opposite end will have respawned.
I had dying light on my old xbox and decided to get it on pc now and im still loving it. One thing you can do to get easy Survivor points (Especially early game) is doing the stuffed turtle quarantine zone in the slums. You can get some decent weapons and its about 20 zombies, a bomber and a viral spawn which are easy to deal with if you have firecrackers and molotovs and best thing is you dont even have to get all 5 crates, you can get the 1st three then leave and go back in and repeat as the 1st 3 crates have no zombies in them, just an electrified floor which you can turn off by jumping on shelves to avoid the floor then turning the power off and then collecting the crates. Its an easy way to get survivor points and I recommend it to new players or players in the early game.
I just bought the ultimate version of this game and I'm so impressed by it. Some of my favorite youtubers were talking about how amazing it is so I decided to give it a try. Thanks for the tips! I'm actually gonna start over and use these tips to have a better play through
Great story, no? I like how the main character is not just an average Joe and you get zombie bit right from the start. I like how there is a suppressant and most of the survivors are infected, so there's hope, but time is running out for them. I also like that the zombies don't seem to be the main villains. Seems like the bad people during a zombie apocalypse are the real threat. Rais, and even the GRE turned out to be bigger "monsters" than the zombies.
WE APPREXIATE YOU! even though this has little views, know that the small amount of us that bought this game during the sale really appreciate videos like these an will always support them. THANK YOU!!
I’ve just purchased this game today, somehow RU-vid said I’m gonna need help and your video pops up. Very detailed and easy to follow, thank you brother.
fun fact, the day night cycle actually does kick in during the airdrop mission, but the time progression is just slowed down but then sped back up to nighttime when you get to that par in the story.
Just started playing this again because, the 2nd dying light impressed me so much. What great tips. Cant wait to get the grappling hook to feel like I'm in attack on titan lol.
This is super helpful. I had started Dying Light a couple years ago and fell off completely, but tried picking it up again recently. I incorrectly assumed that I should spend more time on the ground and kept dying as a result. Treating the ground as lava makes perfect sense.
I originally binged Dying Light when it was released. I redownloaded it with all the DLC’s last night though. This video reminded me of some old tricks & even taught me new ones. Thanks!
thank you for your help! very useful! I've had dying light on my back burner, but i've started to play it recently and still in permanent day cycle, I watched your video for tips and found it incredibly useful, also thanks for the blueprint locations, I think this game should have had an actual quest to run around check on locations/get blueprints because this really helps to get used to game parkour mechanics
Absolutely! First time I played it I wasn't into games much, so I didn't think much of it, but I just bought it for PC & haven't slept the same since lmao. Top 3 games of all times imo
A handy thing to know is how much experience you get for each action. You can tell when you killed an enemy after getting 200+exp from a swing/attack, it’s very useful on higher difficulty
after reading many positive reviews about this game, i finally bought it on a big discount on steam. thank you for this very informative video my man! looking forward to another beginner guide once dying light 2 finally drops
Great video. Though you missed to praise the power of ever kicking Crane's leg. It can easily kick some asses. In fact, it's one of most powerful "weapons" in the game.
Wow! Great video! Quick shots of gameplay knowledge espresso! Great presentation and I love how it's all focused on Quick digestible bits. Well done. 🤓👍🎮
GREAT video and still useful today!!! Just busted this out finally and this was very helpful after dying 1000x quickly. Appreciate your work and subbed!
Wow I finally got all of the blueprints Holy, its currently 2:15 in the morning and I'm going to bed,❤ THANK YOU SO MUCH❤ for all the hard work and effort you put into making this video, it has been a somewhat difficult but also really fun journey and for thank you have thanks. Goodnight✌
Your video is definitely underrated man.. amazing content and well put together. I just recently got a new PC setup and went on a steam game haul due to Black Friday and I really wanted to experience this game on PC rather than PS4 and I wanted a more strategic play through this go around and your video is filled with very useful information. Thanks so much!
Cool content for dying light, I played it back when it came out and never got to complete it so brought it again on the Xbox series s yesterday so I’m smashing it out 😊 🧟♂️
The dying light community is amazing on my 1st day this end game player joined my session and dropped 80 med kits 30 king upgrades and a legendary weapon
I've played through dying light many, MANY times (best guess is just over 100, it's like comfort food) I've never really watched RU-vid content around it, it's fun to know we tackle it about the same!
As someone that has put in almost 300 hours of dying light I would have to say that I disagree with only two things on this list and that is avoiding the ground and turning off community events. One big thing a lot of community events have is extra XP sometimes it's only 2X and sometimes it's 3X XP and those are extremely useful for leveling your character up quicker yes some of them might be more difficult but I would look them up and see what they are and if they have two or three times XP you absolutely want to take advantage of that because it'll take forever to max legend level without it, and I would not avoid the ground as much because in order to level up your power level you need to fight zombies, one big tip I have is fight zombies close to spiked traps and use kicking to kick them into the spike traps, just starting in the game I've been able to kill a whole giant hordes just from kicking them into spiked traps or unlocking the grapple early and grappling them into the traps. It helps tremendously with XP and you can loot their bodies at the end to get a ton of useful stuff right at the start, that's just what I learned, and if you go after the expcaliber and korek machete right at the start you'll have an absolute Giant advantage right at the beginning (except for nightmare mode, you can't craft the korek and I'm not sure about the EXPcaliber) and it really helps, there's also a location down at the bottom right of the map where you can pick up a free handgun which would be very useful as well. Another amazing hint you can use as well to level yourself up very fast is to grind out the stuffed turtle quarantine zone, that's how I power level, and when you get to legend points switch over to nightmare mode and you'll level that up very fast too. Hopefully this helps people as well.
Great video. Ive made good use of the perma daytime at the start of the game. Im a wuss so i dont think i wouldve been able to collect all these things in regular game play. I had some issues climbing down from the bridge and died but since it was the start if the game i didnt lose much.
I bought dying light a few years ago and couldn’t get into it but recently bought it again cause I knew it was my type of game but it is a adjustment/ learning curve when starting but once you get the hang of it the game is fun as hell
Tip about the quarter master: if you sleep he resets, so if you're early game you can just farm him to get a good number of medkits and stuff, might take some time though
I can give you guys an advice, to quickly get survivor levels you can do the quarrantine zone in the supermarket. the quests name is turtle smth, if you only get 3 packages and not continue and just leave, you can repeat this. From 30 packages (10 runs) i got 108k survivor xp. All you have to do is enter, get 1st package, turn off the electricity and get 2 more packages. then you just leave and repeat until you have a lot of these crates. then return to the quartermaster (i go to the tower's quartermaster the most) to turn them in and you get survivor xp. this also gives the legend xp but you dont have that unlocked early in the game like me
Very good vid. Extremely helpful to myself as I absolutely suck at this game. I really like it though so hopefully you're advice should help me not suck quite so much
Tip: stop holding v right after the end of the camouflage timer to not get the stuff that blocks ur vision. If you do it wrong, it either cancels the camouflage or leaves a smol mark.
I swear night lasts an hour! lol thanks for the video I came to see about the grapple hook. never played this and it was super cheap since the new one is out.
Thanks! Quite new to the game myself, but maybe another tip for getting some exp in early game, if you stand on the hood of a truck, you are low enough to hit zombies in the head but they do not seem to be able to reach you (at least thats my experience) :) If you are at Rais' place, there is a blue truck at the front where you can do this at night for even more exp. Once you attract volatiles you just hop back over the fence, ending the pursuit, and you can repeat this til night is done.
