Hi guys, it’s Holly … back again with another video for the channel! As an environmentally conscious individual, I wanted to share 50 ways in which you can be more sustainable and eco-friendly to help save the planet. Please remember that nobody is perfect, but with small changes we really can make a BIG difference!
To help spread the message further, be sure to share this video and get talking about it with your friends. Actions also speak louder than words, so you can simply start by just setting an example to others with your re-usable water bottle, cutlery, thrifted mom jeans and plant-based packed lunch (obviously after lockdown is over!).
Let me know down below if you have any specific Biology topic requests for further videos, and stay tuned for my final video of the week coming on Sunday!

Could you, or someone else on this channel, make a video for how to start a compost bin? It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time but there’s so much conflicting advice online that I don’t know where to start.

Hi! You should check out Gittemary Johansen's channel, she does incredible videos on sustainability and recently did one on how to compost in your apartment! She's a queen! :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QhUWOiEc9I8.html

All the development is on one side, and our environment on other. Forests are the treasure we all should save and cherish. Those who agree.. Keep the pre existing plastic bags which u already have in your cars, scooty so that whenever u go out u can use them. ● Store that RO waste water and use to wash clothes or water plants, or fill in the washing machine or even mop the floor, For 1 litre of drinking water, 3 litres of waste watsr is produced. Those who are buikding new houses should connect the ro waste water to the toilets. ● Its high time we start recycling plastics friends! ● and the most often heard... plant a tree. Most of u cant due to lack of space or u r too busy to help save planet. U can at least donate to the organisations! A small amount of 100 rs. Also makes a difference! ● Put indoor plants in house instead of air purifiers if ur air is not that polluted. U can put snake plants which are approved by NASA and they dont beed fertislisers, and water is only needed once a month at maximum. They are a little expensive, but thats a one time investment! There are several other plants also which are of no maintenance. ● Dont think that caring for environment is uncool or who cares and stuff. This generation may die happily, but the coming generation will starve to death! ● EVERY EFFORT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. Every drop of water saved adds a day to someone's life. Every tree planted adds to someone's breathe! PLS MAKE A DIFFERENCE..... WE NEED TO SAVE THIS PLANET! pls take this comment to the top. Amd spread the message.

What I find difficult is dealing with all the stuff in plastic/made of plastic that I’ve ended up with throughout the years. Now I’m much more aware and really try to do many of the things in this video but I just have so much stuff from before.

If you’re from the uk home bargains do reusable cloths that remove your make up by just putting them under the tap, there about £2 and you get 3 of them and you put them in the wash to get them clean again. Home bargains also do face cloths for about 30p each. Over the past year or so I’ve become a lot more aware of the amount of plastic I buy and yes I still purchase things in plastic but I’m more conscious about it like only buying things in plastic that I can’t find it without, before the pandemic when I’d go out to restaurants I’d always take a metal straw with me and the amount of times I’ve asked for no straw with drink but they’ve still brought me one kind of annoys me

Let's also remember that disabled people need single use plastic for many reasons :)

Hi Holly! Thank you for sharing these tips 😊 I was wondering, as you live in the UK... Why do you eat as much mangos and bananas eventhough they are not local ? When you were in Australia it was of course different but now ...? Please don't take this the wrong way, I just want to know your opinion about it :) have a good day!
@HollyGabrielle
@HollyGabrielle 4 года назад
to be honest, and as i said in the video, i am not perfect and nobody is. i try and do my best, but obviously i have my weak points (i.e. mangoes and bananas 😅)!

@@HollyGabrielle Thank you for replying! I personally don't eat a lot of tropical fruits at home (I live in France) but still, I eat "French bananas" produced in the Caribbean from time to time as well. As you lived in Australia, you probably noticed how delicious mangos were overthere, and I think eating local fruits and vegetables should remain a joy of travelling, that is to say that we should eat these mangos only in tropical countries. This reflexion came to me when I met a young girl in Mauritius when I lived there, who told me one of her dreams was to visit an orchard and eat good apples one day. That is when I realized how lucky I was to live in a European country where it is quite common to eat very tasty apples ! It may sound simple, but keeping these 'tastings' occasional, makes it even more unique and valuable. That is why at least reducing your consumption of these products is a first step. However, I know it is easier said than done !! Primarly because we are all included in this process called globalization which makes it easier for us to get anything we desire at any time (i.e. by going to the supermarket) and it is rooted in our society now. The system has standardized this way of thinking. Anyway, I am addressing to anyone here, don't be discouraged by the global situation (lol) and don't minimize the efforts you've already made to change your habits ! Holly, for example, you are vegan, that is awesome ! I don't blame you, as that is already a LOT in itself ! :DSo, what we can do is finding our own balance and as you said, help each other out to get better at acting and raise awareness about global warming. Thank you for you who read this comment entirely, thank you Holly and the Study Tube Project to make content and good luck to anyone with the Covid-19 lockdown situation. I hope this message gave you hope, stay safe xxx

Who can save YOU? HERE IS THE MILLION-DOLLAR QUESTION: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here’s a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God’s name in vain? Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But God is not willing that any should perish. Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as a free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you.

Dear Holly: Why do you not eat more seasonal food? You mention it in the video but you don't really implement it in your daily life. I've watched a lot of your videos on your other channel and I've mentioned that a few times before. You have the possibility to buy local grown, seasonal food, so why not doing it? Sure, there are also other ways to be more sustainable. But you could combine as much of them as possible and start living what you "preach". In your video on "how to make the perfect green........" you add strawberries to your meal (not frozen ones) and you advertise almond milk. Have you ever considered that, even though this kind of drink is vegan, it is by far not sustainable!
@HollyGabrielle
@HollyGabrielle 4 года назад
as i said in the video, i do my best and i'm not perfect. in my current living situation, where i don't have full control over everything that is bought in the house, i just try to do the best i can!

Not to be like this, but Holly you flew from the UK to New York for a weekend last year and then went on another flight to France and then flew to Australia, so I find it somewhat difficult to see you make this type of video. To achieve proper differences to global warming we need deep structural political and economic action, but on an individual level reducing the amount we fly makes the largest difference. Larger than going vegetarian or vegan. There are carbon tracking websites which show you where you can improve. I don't want to hate on you, I've been watching your videos for 3 years, but I believe in leading by example
@jasminelizabeth96
@jasminelizabeth96 4 года назад
How do you know she didn't carbon offset every one of those flights? It's easy to put people down for every choice as soon as they mention sustainability - nobody on this planet is ever going to be perfect, but making an effort to reduce your impact and spread the word, thus encouraging other people to take action in their own lives, will have a markedly bigger impact than staying silent until you can be deemed 'perfect' by never flying. When it comes to climate change, we need everyone to do as much as they can. Don't put people down when they are trying to help.
@HollyGabrielle
@HollyGabrielle 4 года назад
the total GHG emissions from animal agriculture are far more than all of transportation combined. however yes, i have taken quite a few flights recently which is not the best at all, but i am human and can only do my best. i do not think there is anything at all wrong with spreading the message and encouraging others to do their bit for the planet even if i am not always 100% sustainable myself. of course, that is the mindset i adopt, but again, i am not perfect!
