Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ru-vid.comUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

Unfortunately today we live in what i call a plug and play society where we use something until it breaks and then we throw it away and buy a new one. Plus the products today don't have the same requirements as they did then. Companies are more interested in making as much money as possible instead of producing the best product possible.

A new Toro 33522 Brush Cutter BRC-28 is $7500 list, it's about this size. Restoring this machine for $500 would be one heck of a bargain. I was 12 years old when this mower was made. Now you got yourself a "new" machine, that is as valuable as the work it can do. Great video.

it is good to see a proper restoration here. There are so many false resto's on fb, with just a pull down, quick spray paint, then put back together , with no new bearings, seals, valve lapping etc. Spray painting with no masking.. Just junk, put up jobs.. This is a proper restore.. well done .. And thank you

That differential reminds me of one that my dad got from an old mower at the scrap yard years ago. He made a three wheeled bicycle, and use a petrol bike engine on it, but he wanted to make sure that power went to both wheels, so he utilized the differential on it. It turned out nicely for him. Incidentally, if you ever need to make a rotation reverser for, say, a steering box, simply remove the sprocket, and apply mounting brackets in it's place. Turning the wheel to the left will turn the box to the right.

It amazes me how well these machines were built back in the days of old. Anything made now lasts maybe 5 years before it needs replaced or completely overhauled, which costs more than a new one. This machine is no different, some time, knowledge, and new parts and it's clearly still ready for action and real use. Well done!!!

I have many restorations.. generators, air compressors, riding mowers, push mowers, most any 4cycle engine you can think of, I have a storage unit or two full. once I've rebuilt, I don't want to get rid of them. I'm not fond of 2 cycle engines. occasionally I will repaint or powder coat, some I leave original patina on. I'm 64 and been repairing and rebuilding since I could hold a wrench. I've never bought or had the desire to buy new. I enjoy your videos and watching a fellow restoration activist in action. Good day.

In 1978/88 i worked as a foreman gardener and inherited their ancient so it seemed to me Hayter Condor, self propelled ride behind ( with cast iron rollers and non-suspension seat above). It was very similar to this machine,it had a Briggs and Stratton 5bhp petrol engine, corded pull start motor with two circular cutting discs fitted with four blades each. It looked ungainly but was in fact very comfortable to use, very reliable and made a good cut. On average i cut about nine acres of lawn every week.
