@@plant-basedmd7891 Why didn't you say that to start with. it sounds like they have addressed the problem and you are making an issue after it has been taken care of.
Almost 3 years late to this, but I just signed up for my first week of thistle. As somebody who is disabled and struggles with mental health issues, these Pre-prepared meals should really help. Thank you for the comprehensive review.
Just started my first week of Thistle! I’ve enjoyed the meals so far. Just need to fine tune the multiple deliveries per week. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you for the Thistle review! Wow, 500 days! I have also tried Thistle. For anyone interested: my Pros and Cons: PRO: very convenient, fresh, nutritious. CONS: too much carb by way of grains for my diet, many of the dishes are too tart/vinegary for my taste. However, my husband does like the tartness, but he's Filipino and puts strait vinegar on everything so let that be your guide! I also don't feel like there is enough variety in their entree choices. The salads are quite yummy, but I would add more fresh lettuce or something to bulk it up and stretch it into 2 portions. The grains to greens ratio seems off in most of the salads, too many grains for my taste. Overall: couldn't do it every day, but not bad a couple times a week.
Hi David, This video was well done and well researched and thought out. After 500 days of using the product it sounds like it is working for you. Since you probably communicate with Thistle more than most I would say one thing they can do to help potential customers and help the company grow is to offer a double or triple portion of meals at a slight discount so people with families can try the product without having to spend a ton to feed a family. I say this because I think the cost is prohibitive for a larger family and there should be an easy solution for that. For someone who is single or a busy person or even someone who does not cook a lot this is a good way to eat much healthier. You covered a lot of things and again I thought the video was well done and you did your prep work. Thanks! 😀
My ONLY issue with it is the single use plastic :( otherwise - I truly enjoy the meal service. I like simple food, and I'm single with no children. So the other cons aren't really that apparent to me. I've always struggled with nutrition and being able to cook my own meals. My biggest limitation is that I don't have my own kitchen (it's shared). So I don't ever have space in the fridge for loose ingredients and it's often being taken up by everyone in the house anyway with containers, left overs, meal prep (yes, they suck lol, I literally bought the fridge too) or someone is always cooking their food and I just don't have the time to wait on them to eat. I have a poor diet because of it. I'll end up eating whatever there is or fast food, or stuff I can just shove into my mouth. This helps majorly with that. I probably won't stick to it in the long-term, because of the single-use plastic, but in the meantime, it was a great introduction to meal delivery services~
YES! I completely understand and what is nice I know the company is trying to work on it. This is a struggle for a lot of these companies - overall, I've tried a few and it seems they do it the best overall... but still not there YET!. Thanks for sharing :)
AVOID THISTLE: I tried it for 3 weeks. Thistle food tastes like s**t. Vegan does not have to be bland or monotonous but the chefs at Thistle don't seem to know that. The salads are primarily quinoa, salad greens, carrot chunks, old tough raw green beans with a vinegar (not vinegarette) dressing. They also add one ingredient to justify the title of the meal. The presentation is horrid. The meal arrives as if it had been dropped on the ground and someone scooped it up and put it in the container. The customer service wins an academy award for worst performance.
If you find value in this video, let them know that you got a referral (David Iskander) and I would appreciate it a million. You will still get the promotion or any other promotion you use!! Thank you!!
So like do they taste good? I tried skipping through the video and he talks about sooo much but none of it seemed to be the information I was looking for
