‪@ExtremeTurboSystems‬ does it again! They have an incredible Turbo Kit on the market for the 2022 WRX. Tuners and shops have been doing INCREDIBLE work with these kits early on to make a MASSIVE amounts of horsepower. The 2022 WRX has been surprising everyone with what it can take and the power it can make. Prime Motoroing has already shown that the engine is incredibly capable! I look forward to seeing how far tuners are able to take the 2022 WRX FA24DIT before we hit a cap. With some added fueling we will hit 600hp soon I am sure!

Former Evo guy here. I made around 620whp (limiting factor being stock cams) for 4 years on my higher mileage Evo X bone stock long block using a Garrett 3584. Partially daily driven and consistently weekend raced. It’s nice to see the Subaru community finally getting a stout motor to play with without having to fork out for a built motor. Not everyone has that kind of cash. Enjoy it guys. If it’ll take it SEND IT. Note: I recommend keeping the torque as low as possible for longevity but that might be difficult with 2.4L motor.

Former 4G63 guy here. With just an intake and 93 octane tune, my VB is equalling my 4G63 that had bigger turbo, injectors, supra pump and turboback exhaust. Only took 30 years, but Subaru finally made a decent engine. 😂😂

Guys, I have nothing but respect for you and what you do. My intake video I made about you guys was strictly informational because the community deserves a voice. I haven't ever reached out about working with you because of all that. I'd love to one day do a collaboration but idk if my car is ready for a turbo kit 🤣. I am actually doing a full rally build at the end of this year. Maybe we can do something on that? 👀👀

Stock block FA20DIT can make over 500whp too. (Jr Tuned did it) Is it gonna last? Probably not. This motor tho, with the better rod design should handle more then the FA. But no one is gonna daily a 500whp FA24

The Felix shop car is running the STI trans last I spoke with Anthony. He had also told me about head bolts starting to stretch at 450+. So something people would probably want to consider. There is a local guy to me who had his tune turned up after getting his STI swap and immediately ran into that issue.

@@stealthywallaby1392 The bolts that hold the cylinder heads to the block. They start to stretch, allowing the heads to lift a little. ARP Head Studs are the answer to this issue.

@StealthyWallaby id imagine youd reach the limit of the trans before you hit the need for head studs. But keep power to under 450WHP and there shouldnt be an issue with the head bolts.

So I contacted IAG and apparently ARP head bolts and head studs from the EJ20, EJ25, and FA20 are the same so they will fit the FA24. Hoping this helps someone out

Hey man, haven't seen you in a bit! The beauty of this kind of testing is it helps to know the limits and then dial it back a bit. Just like us, when we used to overclock our PCs till they blue screened ingame...then just dial it back a few volts 😂😂. So if the engines can take 50-60 wot pulls at 550whp then surely 350hp daily will be no sweat. 🤘

Looking around you can get uprated direct injectors for the FA20 and other engines, so sounds like it would be possible to go bigger for the FA24 as well. Might need a High Pressure fuel pump upgrade though. I know the stock ones on the Taurus SHO are silly expensive for HP pumps.

I'm curious if the 22WRX FA24 has the same internals as the one swapped into the Crosstrek? 🤔. I know the 22WRX FA24 has had extra work done to beef the engine up that Japan hasn't released exactly what they have done. Pretty badass regardless!!!

Allegedly it's the same engine inside out. The FA24DIT out of the ascent is supported to be identical to the one in the WRX and even the new Legacy.

My ‘19 already has 100k miles on it and I plan to 2.4 swap it whenever the engine goes. It’s been tuned thru drunkmann since 12k miles, and on e60 since 30k and it’s still a champ every day doing 200+ miles a day sometimes

Great video I’ve been looking at this turbo set up. So any information is helpful. Just wishing I would have seen this before I got the Perrin intake and Perrin charge pipe, because it’s looking like it will replace those parts.

I think the block will be fine. Looking at the FA24 tear down vids (there are a few out there) the block and rods are very beefy. I know the direct injection window is the limiting factor BUT would higher volume "larger" injectors be the answer? OR is it just too difficult to provide enough fuel pressure? I guess those are questions for someone like Graham.

Graham was saying that it's too expensive to develop direct injection injectors for reasons. The GR and BRZ use a FA24 but it's port injected so it makes it so much easier.

I’m about to do this at the end of the year but have the turbo modded with the T51R mod at Felix Performance!! They will have to send it in for me to get modded. I can’t wait! I’m going to have dmann lower the boost and have the head bolts done! I do not want 550 hp maybe 350. Yes James has The sti swap with an upgraded clutch.

Even if the engine can handle 500whp (which is very questionable), damn sure the transmission and clutch can't. Seems silly to try to make that much power in a $35k sport sedan. If you want a damn fun car, be happy with 300hp-350hp. If you want a track monster, start with a different platform.

That's a good question. I imagine that you'll have 2 intakes now. Since the one in the kit is technically different you'll want to just sell the old one.

Well most of the time back to back high load on the Dyno will give you more data than driving normal on the highway or slow back roads. Of course this is still all testing and early. It's still a great indication of where we are and where we can go when closed deck engines and fueling support shows up.

The GR is a NA engine with port injection. Our is the direct Injection. So it's similar but also different.

Yea its looking like 400ish tq is going to be the cut off for this transmission. Some people have gone higher but it's not gonna last. Same issue as the VA unfortunately.

I’ve been modding cars for decades and they don’t engineer 500hp engines and then sell them at 250hp.. I would say anything more than 20-30% more power than stock and you are playing with fire. It might hold together for a bit but you will drastically reduce its useable life.. get your 2022 wrx to around 300hp at wheels and stop there … if you want a 500hp car buy a 500hp car

Id say 330 seems like a good spot to be at. 300 is achievable stock and 330 with intake. Clear air limitation on purpose
