I would put the lot survey out here so people know exactly what you are working with and can advise off the numbers. You need a really good professional plan to move forward without allot of hard work and money going into band aids. I would like to see plans and ideas rather then work at this point, I think it is needed before you move forward.
You mentioned in an earlier video that you would move the main door back to its original place. Can i suggest making the "mud room" the bathroom and combining the current bathroom and bedroom into one.

I’m a new one I’m very interested in young people, mowing, restoring, and remodeling, and even building container homes. To see this is very heart warming with all the dedication you all put into it! Do not take to heart to what the negative comments say, even if there is only a few positive comments, those, those are the ones you need to focus on. Haters are always gonna hate, but that’s their problem not yours.
here is my advice. you are apparently living somewhere presently, that is good. fix up the house and sell it with the lower property. buy and move a used doublewide to the "pasture" and fix it up to sell also. you should be able to double your money on the present investment in a relative short period of time. rinse and repeat a time or two, then build what you want and be a young debt free homeowner! (one of very few)

You had mentioned that you need to work on the roof. When you do, on the side of your home that is a lien too, I would put a new roof line on the house. Raise your roof so that your back area of the home has Head Room. I believe that would add a great deal of value to your home. Just a suggestion, love watching your channel.

My husband and I and our younger years used to be like you doing tons of projects together, but we have reached the age where we can’t do them anymore so watching you do them it’s extremely interesting and fun. You are doing good. I started my channel renovating homes to show people you can do things yourself since so many people feel like they will never be able to afford a house of their own. There are tons of ran down homes across the country that people can buy and slowly fix up to make their own.

I sure can relate. I've made a lifetime of doing things that other people thought was way to risky. But, I do what I know. Some works and some doesn't. Since 1980 no one has fired me. I work for myself.
I did exactly the same in my life two times, two houses that i was fortunate enough to acquire. And i have lived in each one for the bulk of my life. Started in my late 20s now im 64. You look very similar to me; you work alone. After i found that its dam hard work, and it requires alot of time, i didnt want to sell either one, but lived in each, one after the other. Perhaps you will see this too. Wake up every morning, seeing how important the build has been and what you did with both hands. Hope that you inspire other young people to do this and good luck. This comment is very encouraging! You sound just like my grandpa. He’s 82 and still wants to do everything around his own house, and does still handle most of it. We just take care of the stuff up high now. He’s built two houses by himself including the two story house he lives in now.

7 year ago I overpaid (that’s what everyone told me) at 79k. It needed a lot of work and still needs work. Problem I have is as a widow of over a decade I can’t hire anyone. Nobody to hire. Needs new windows. It’s old 1949 with single pane original. Well n septic but has access to city if someone wanted, .75 acre corner lot in good area. Fast forward I have lived in it and Zillow says 190 something and based on what’s around me selling 250 even as is . Point is, I bought beneath my means what I could afford and did a lot of work myself back then first year but can’t now. Might sell like it is and go to different area where I can afford better now (if there is such a thing).. I don’t want to, but it needs work and nobody will do it, too busy. I didn’t have this place surveyed or inspected or anything, bought for sale by owner. That was 7 years ago. People can say what they want, but everyone has different life experiences and expectations and unless you’ve done it, some don’t know. You’re on the right track

You could do with sponsorship of local hire company and builders merchant. Maybe log cabin company or eco home company could partner up and help you out to do it yourself home build would be like gold to go through the process. A bit like building a boat.

I really feel like people that only watch short form content on tik tok, etc. aren't actually interested in the videos they comment on. Your hot water tank originally had to be a short 30 or 40 gallon tank in the CRAWLSPACE. No one designed a house with waterlines across the walls. A lazy plumber refused to remove the crawlspace door and get the new hot water tank in there. That's how those lines got all over the walls like that. My house was like that and the short hot water tank was in the crawlspace. There was a 3 foot X 5 foot hole for you to stand in there and the tank was sitting on cinder blocks on the "dirt deck" the waterlines in that house are meant to come up thru the floor not down from an attic or across the living room walls.

There are a lot of people who like seeing properties like yours getting fixed up. I'm one of those people. You come across as someone with a good head on there shoulders and know what needs to be done. You may not know what the outcome is at the moment, but you are moving in the right direction. They aren't worth wasting time and energy on. They're strangers and their opinion really doesn't even matter at all. For these days, you did good at that price. You're young and you can do it. You have a great investment at your age. You’re doing it right. Septic first and retaining wall. You have a plan for the foundation and that’s the first best step then remodel on that. Maybe before you do any work to the interior wait until you can replace the roof and raise it at the same time then that will set you up for how you want to remodel the rooms. Will be watching. @@marchingmoto I know what you mean, it’s a lot of money raising the roof along with putting a foundation under the house, especially where it’s located. You just might be able to get everything you want in a house if you built new up in the field. Maybe the shop too if there is room. Then maybe take down the house and make a big patio area with a fire pit. Or leave it empty. Lot to think about but you’re lucky to have these options to consider. No mater what you’ll have a great investment down the road. Will be watching! Take care! 👍👍
We are here for your videos cheering you on. I think most people are good and just want the best for you and like me so proud you went for it and bought you a house. I hope you live there 2 years. If you stay 2 years you can then sell and pay no taxes or rent for passive income then move on to the next better home but you do you. You can't lose either way we're here.

Stop saying that house is horrible,I have seen far worse and yes people lived in them. For a young person to be willing take on a project and film it and share your passion for projects and life. Keep up up the hard work. Keep a positive attitude . This house can become a key to your future. This house can be easily made into a nice two bed 1.5 bath house with a nice shop. A shop added will change your attitude. I encourage you to see what kinda small loader tractor you can find to help the projects easier.
