@@ColCoal - Actually my point is more solidified by the fact that modern technology has only made it quicker to realize that an epic scale fuckup has occurred. The fuckups are still happening of course, all the time, it's just now there's a certain level of instant gratification in knowing that a fuckup has happened. In ye olden days, with ye olden technology it would often takes weeks or even months before anyone realized just how badly something was fucked over. Probably the most epic scale fuckup of all time was in the Vietnam war when the deforestation agents we used (like Agent Orange) turned out to cause massive and horrific birth defects... for DECADES! In fact they're ~still~ trying to clean up that shit! Oh, also, the use of depleted uranium rounds in the Gulf war, which were safe... in theory... but no one bothered to realize that when a depleted uranium round is blasted apart against a target it releases vaporized uranium dust which in turn causes Gulf War Syndrome among other horrific things. Really, as far as scale, technology, information, etc... the USS Liberty incident is like worrying about a leaky faucet when YOUR WHOLE FUCKING HOUSE IS BEING FLOODED!

Extra Credits: fall from grace (or did they even have any grace to begin with?) Reason I what this one made, 'cause there is NONE articles at ED about them. At least Enter made a decent pair of videos about them, and provided som juicy details at the end about an alleged fraud fundraiser.
They have a handful of good episodes in the beginning. But like most media, it seems they simply wanted to build a following before slamming the Kafka trap once they had the illusion of moral authority.
Not only that, the bulk of it wasn't very entertaining. The best of it occurred when people like Metokur and Destiny were involved, or when shit like the Tonka/Andy episode went down. Other than that, it was usually a three hour snoozefest consisting of boring spergs stuttering at each other over shitty laptop microphones.

General decline in writing quality as different writers were brought in who couldn't piece together a decent narrative to save their lives, instead relying on uncreative what-if single episodes. The commie horse who was defeated in a surprisingly [Matrix reference involving a pill that's red] episode was "redeemed" and became a main character which proved extremely divisive for the fanbase. In season 8 it started preaching multiculturalism by having a multi-species "friendship school" going against actual prior canon, and Haber (imagine triple parentheses) tried sneaking in lesbian ships (didn't get his way as much as he'd like, though). The finale actually went against everything the show stood for as it perverted justice: the "villains" including a FILLY were petrified rather than given a chance for redemption while Discord who peer-pressured them into mischief goes off scot-free. Applejack, one of the few positive portrayals of rural America and Southerners in television, was secretly hated by the writers (no surprise there), wasn't even shown at her own brother's wedding (spoilers), and didn't accomplish any of her life goals. In G5 they'll be turning her into a ghetto [female black person] voiced by a vulgar talentless hack. Oh, and the entire fanbase agrees that the new "Pony Life" shorts are abominable. Not everything has been horrible, though. The "MLP Movie" was actually quite decent though not [classic 1915 movie about the Civil War] levels of storytelling and [Matrix reference involving a pill that's red]. The manga was released and like the comics is better than the show. Basically the entire production process of the show itself, including drafts, scripts, and communiqués, was leaked which really shows the cancer of the nu-writers and Tara Strong (imagine triple parantheses). You can find it on /mlp/ or on its less-censored alternative /mlpol/ (yes, it exists and it's as autistic as you'd expect it to be).
