I've also noticed that Bindi is the smartest dog out there: not only has she been the only one to deposit her kills in the bucket upon command, but she's also figured out that pulling up lumber flushes out rats! At least 3 times in this video I've seen her pulling planks with her jaws when things slow down, looking to flush more rats out! With Boss on cleanup and the smaller dogs on dig-and-slaughter duty, they really are an un-stoppable ratting team of dogs. So impressive to watch.

I think all the dogs use their bodies based on their size. Boss is a big dog = Slow, lumbering, longer stride I'd bet Boss is fully aware of his own size, and if he has to chase, he's got the stride to do so.

Thank you for posting. I used to keep poultry and had a Jack Russell border Collie and a couple of ferrets which I used to keep the rats under control. The dogs always knew what I was going to do when I got the ferrets out. Puts me in mind of how they all worked as a team and they’d rather go for the rats than the poultry. I lost my last dog a few months back no longer have poultry, can’t walk dogs any more, but I got myself a couple of ferrets. Love the channel reminds me of the fun me the dogs and ferrets had.

Bindi's is an example of directing the pitbull determination properly and its wonderful to see. She has that grit and focus to a fault ie pulling up boards with her teeth when she shouldn't cause she could hurt herself. Cleaning out the shed more would mean the rats would be flying all over, escaping, if no dogs were there to catch them. Having a person to pull out planks and stack them up on something outside (off the ground, to keep the escaping rats from hiding in the stack) would be helpful, if you could fit another guy in the shed.

These dogs probably have better medical care than most of us, are up on their vaccines, get "paid sick leave" whenever they're under the weather, get plenty of exercise and healthy food, and have an owner that spends many hours a day watching them and will notice any issues. Not least, they love their job so much that every day is a trip to Disneyland. I'd say they're probably healthier and happier than 99% of dogs that have never gotten a single scratch or bruise.

I know you've been conflicted about making Gypsy an official part of the pack given her weaknesses in speed and agility, but she absolutely killed it this run (ha!). She's got a slender enough build that she can wiggle into tight spaces and just pick off one rat after another, and her senses are spot on. I wouldn't pass up on that talent if I were you. Put her in the right situation and she is a fun-sized thompson submachine gun

I've a soft spot for Leroy. In the first videos on the farm, he was really obsessing over his catch. But in the latest videos, after working with the other dogs for a few hours, I'm impressed by how quick his behavior has changed. He's still once in a while holding onto a rat but more often than not now, he kills them and drop them to go for another target. Atta dog!

as a vet student, also interested in training dogs, this is actually so amazing to watch! the dogs get to use their natural instincts and hunt as a pack. It's perfect presentation of how the dog's mind work while catching prey AND working with their owner. It's just admirable how, even while chasing a quick, small prey, they still listen to your commands. I suppose they were bred for this, but just wow. The way they're always looking around and listening to every sound in case some rat ran out, and how they corner their prey, it's just so entertaining to watch. The only thing I'm worried about is if they get proper vet checks and I hope they're vaccinated, because they're exposed to many possibilites of getting some illness, but I'm sure that is taken care of as these dogs look happy and healthy :)
@Koselill

Ive been watching this channel for around 3 years and he's been going at it for around 7-8 years and he's never talked about the dogs getting sick. He's also mentioned that the rats in his area doesnt carry the diceases that people are most worried about in the US. I mostly watch the ratting videos, but Ive watched some training videos and his training and care leads me to believe that those dogs get the utmost vet care in the world 🥰 He gives the dogs breaks and water when its sunny and hot, and breaks for Bindi the puppy, and even brought one of the dogs older puppies to one of the locations so the dog could take a break and feed the puppies in between the vicious murdering lol When he got Bindi he met all the puppies and tested them in the forest to see which one would have the best adapting abilities for hunting. He even trained an argus monitor to hunt mice, but gave it away because he didnt have the time or space for it and was worried for its health when it started hurting its tail turning around in an enclosure that was too small. There's a toooooon of small details about Joe that I love about him and how he loves and respects his animals and the animals he hunts and if you were to look around, Im sure you'd find a video of him detailing vet care

I've never seen anything like how many rats came out of that floor and I don't think they let hardly one escape. Having various size dogs is perfect. Your minks would be perfect for under the boards. Never knew rats could jump so high. It was running away from Bindi. Then it had boss right in front of it. So it jumped straight up. Thought the dogs would collide. But nope. Bindi crouched down. Boss went high. Bindi nailed it while Boss went over her. Awesome! 🙂🦋

Imagine a world where you are paid for recycling. All materials that are bought/transported are in some way recycled. You get a tax break for planting trees, how much you recycle, and how sustainably you live. It might actually benefit people (most importantly farmers, and land owners) , expand parks, protected forests and natural landscape. Radical. Even more wild, what about cities with green space, vertical and roof top gardens. Apiaries, arboretums, fountains, ponds, cultivated gardens, community gardens etc. more people could live in the city, and would want to if they were nicer to live in.
