Thanks for showing the Yarn Barn! I’ve been in a lot of yarn stores in many places and this is one of the best ever! I could not afford such luxury when I was in grad school back in the early 90s in Lawrence, so I had to make myself not even go in. Happy to say, that is no longer the case and I indulge every time I get lucky enough to visit Lawrence! 🤗
Every time one of these videos goes up, I am renewed with overwhelming envy of working in a yarn store. Such a wonderful thing. Thank you for your videos Natalie 💚
My first Yarn Barn experience was at Stitches West in Oakland in 1996. I am from Montana/Idaho and had not been to many yarn stores. My husband and I moved to the south bay area of San Francisco in 1991 for him as an older student to attend graduate school at Stanford. There were several yarn stores and I began knitting socks and learning about different fibers. But nothing prepared me for Stitches West and Yarn Barn. It was always on the top of my list to shop at the Yarn Barn booth, which covered the largest area of SW in the 1990's. Soo fun to see owners and their current store.
Really enjoyed this podcast on the yarn barn in Lawrence Kansas. I have been there many times and since I’m two hours away in Wichita, I usually just order by phone. They are very helpful. They will look things up. They will cake the yarn. They package it nicely… They do everything.
I remember going to the Yarn Barn when our son started at Kansas nearly 40 years ago. It was fabulous then and obviously, is still mind blowing. So glad you picked this wonderful store.
Really enjoyed this video! I live in Lawrence but I’m homebound so it was nice to get to see a tour of my local yarn store even though I can’t actually go in person.
Thank you ,thank you , thank you for the wonderful tour and taking us along with you! My order arrived a few days ago from the yarn barn and I can say I am beyond pleased and extremely happy. The service and attention to packing my items was above par. The tour of the basement was a special bonus. To hear that the owners are planning on bringing in yarns from Denmark is exciting. I will be ordering more from the yarn barn in the future.
Love your vlogmas episodes. But I must say, I was pretty excited when you endured coaching comments and learned the correct way to say 'calliope'...way to go!!
It's so much fun to see the online stores I've purchased from and to get to know the people behind them. You two and Toaster🐾 have been working so hard. I hope you're all having a good time. Take care on the roads and be well ~ Hugs 🤗 Lacy
What a wonderful selection of items for all types of needleworks. Looks like every kind of yarn you may need and having an online store to help fulfill customer needs ...wow. Wonderful stop for you. Thanks for sharing
I love how Jim was just so casually “yeah I spin yarn.” Met him at Convergence, a weaving convention that was in Knoxville last summer. He let me try their Lendrum Saxony, and if I ever get the space for it, that’s who I’m ordering it from.
The yarn tours have been awesome to watch. I don’t know if it’s intentional but each yarn shop you’ve visited has been so unique and different while all offering various options for knitters, crocheters, weaving etc. such a pleasure to see ❤☺️
I went to KU and lived in Lawrence for 4 year but was unfortunately not an active knitter at the time and this video makes me so eager to visit!! Thank you for the lovely tour!
I’ve been loving these tour videos! Might I recommend using a wide view lens so that we can see wider shots for when Kent is showing off the stores? It can be a little dizzying when the shot pans around so much to all the beautiful views of yarn.
I love that store! But my bank account has banned me from visiting it 😄 I had no idea they had so much yard from local spinners. I need go get back in there and do some shopping - shhh, don't tell my bank account!
