In this video, i go over how to diagnose a P0750 on a 2004 Jeep with a 545RFE and a TCM, this method can be used on chrysler and Dodge as well with a tcm. Thanks for watching
This was cool... a little different than the norm for you. I liked this electrical end part of the diagnostic process. So straight forward. **For anyone watching, Gary just lightly touches the front terminals. The test leads are small & easily fit in his case. *You want to be sure you're not causing new issues by expanding the terminals & making loose connections.*
Thanks for the great video, I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee; 4.7 & 545RFE, Started by losing 4th gear and within a few moments (all gears but 1 & 2) threw a code for improper gear ratio and spun out. If I rebuild this myself, any words of wisdom specific to this trans? I see you recommend Transtech rebuild kits?
I have a teardown video on this, have to watch the clutches in the input drum, I believe the overdrive set may be different(thicker) if you can measure the thickness of the clutch disc's other wise clearance may be off, There is a company in Florida called ATSG they have a good manual on this unit. Also watch the large snap ring, the opening has to face the valvebody or the valvebody will not sit correctly
I have a 04 grand Cherokee with the 545rfe, I have a code for p750 and p2706. Would this be the same process for diagnosis, or would I need to start somewhere else?
No I don’t have a scan tool Herman says on his video that when he is done putting the input drum together he pulls up on the from with a screw driver pulls up on the under drive plate
@@GaryFerraroYes, the code comes right back. The car drives only on 3rd gear in automatic mode. In manual mode it is possible to shift only on 2nd gear.
@@AC-ei2cz If code comes right back, next thing to do is swap wires in the wiring harness at the pcm with another solenoid, If the code stays the same you have a computer problem if code changes you have a bad solenoid pack. I did a video on this, the code i had was P0750.
Have also problem from 3rd to 4th gear not engaged till i leave my foot from accelerator pedal did you think solenoid pack or worm valve body check ball
Yes transmission gear ratio 4th gear only open up transmission nothing in clutch i’m confused with valve body or solenoid pack do that problem do you have idea how to know where are problem from solenoid pack or valve body
Ok I will get some brake cleaner again think I two am looking forward to a 545rfe rebuild Herman does a good but he is to fast he is at American transmission but he does not reply to anyone so on a sat I do appreciate your time again think you
Sure, any questions while your working on it, my e-mail is gsferraro@yahoo.com Thats the best way to contact me if you have any questions, Do you have a scan tool to do a quick learn when the job is done?
@@GaryFerraro it comes back within a few minutes of starting it after clearing. The wiring itself looks good from what I can tell, have replugged both connectors to make sure it's got a good connector. Buzzing noise in park or neutral coming from trans. It feels like it's a limp mode almost. P0700 and p0750 are the codes.
update I checked the live data and found the 2c switch open in P\N and closed for the rest of gears and have no idea what that indicates for.@@GaryFerraro
