A big thanks to Paracentric for sending in this beautiful vintage American series 600 for my round body padlock collection.
I did try again to remove the two retaining pins on plug but failed.
These are great padlocks. Yes, obviously they can be picked by anyone skilled enough to do so but we all know locks are more likely to be cut or in some way destructively removed and these are built tough.
In my opinion, more often than not, the lock itself is not the weakest point.
It's usually the hasp, hinges, windows etc.
Don't be the easy target. Stay safe out there.

I was very happy that I was able to put something into your permanent collection. And yes, you very generously and quite unexpectedly sent me a logo lock in return. I really appreciate it. Thank you! Man, the shackle pop on that thing is outrageous.

Oh yeah, now I remember. My goodness, I been so side tracked with the recent move. Keep thinking I'm done and there's more to do. Had an issue with the floor in laundry room and I am hoping that is it. I need to get back to picking more. Got a few hours in last night on some DD locks. Love picking those. Thanks for hanging in there. Life on life's terms.

I'm still fighting a tendency to overset. Gotta love the round-body Americans, they just look awesome.

Ya especially when the core is spring loaded, I always use too much tension. I have to keep reminding myself to restart no matter how far I got, or think I got. Usually it's best to start over and take the loss. BosnianBill taught me that

Excellent picking! It's been a while since one put up a fight and this one was all the way around. Thanks for the video Al!

Good fight with this old American lock. It was nice to see that it was built so solid, and also, it did not want to give up its secrets too easily 😅 Thanks for taking the time and doing this video👌

Ya I love these locks. Their just built so tough. My collection has gotten so big it's hard to find any I don't have yet. Or I find one and they want an arm and a leg for it.

Must admit I do like American Locks. My collection is growing slowly, they are harder to get over in UK. My round body locks are growing slowly too :-) Hope the move is going well Take Care ⭐️

It’s good to see you back in the saddle buddy. Great video and August 1977 is correct.

I appreciate all you hanging in there during my move. It has been way more work than I anticipated. I still have a few more things to do in the lock lab. My table needs to be attached to the wall so it doesn't wobble.

Very cool lock, and excellent picking sir! Looks like an IC core.. probably a control key somewhere to remove also 👍

What technique is used to "Jimmy a lock"?

It will not work on locks like this that are ball locking. I have a few videos showing how to bypass locks in various ways. Check out my 532, 519, 505

A bypass would work on that, wouldn't it..
