@@rediron44 lol all 3 are "7.62" 300blackout is 7.62x35 30-30 is 7.62x51, not to be confused with 7.62x51 nato/.308win. The bullet diameter is .308 (7.62mm) and the case lenght is 51.8mm rimmed. And of course we all know what 7.62x39 is. (Although technically its larger then .308. Its actually .311 to .314 since Russia didn't have a standardized round)

In 150gr it's fantastic! Plus in many states you can't hunt with a .22 caliber, that includes .223 & 5.56. Bonus is that if your hunting at less than 125 yards you can switch to subsonic with a suppressor and shoot multiple deer(culling).

This was a spectacular video, the 9 puffed it up the clay block, the 223/556 blew the block apart into recognizable parts, and the 300 Blk looked basically at the distance you were shooting from perhaps didn’t really demonstrate the differences, like someone else said at 50 yds it might show a bigger delta. Great videos thank so much for doing them.

I was surprised by both rounds. I would love to see you do comparisons between lead hunting bullets and the solid copper rounds. I know the solid copper tends to penetrate better since it stays together but I am curious as to the energy that transmits into objects. I have experimented (speed and accuracy with different powder charges, not penetration tests) with several in my 338LM and was a bit surprised to learn you have to go down slightly on your powder charge to keep pressure at acceptable levels. For example, I can load 101 gr. Ramshoot LRT with a 300 gr. SMK but with the 285 gr. Barns Tac-X I can only go 96.9 gr. With both I am averaging 2825 fps. Still if I intend to eat what I shoot, I would prefer the lack of lead. Keep making videos, I really enjoy them.

Two reasons why I like the Federal Power Shoks...three actually....Cheap, most accurate round in 150gr for my Savage 30-06, and they blow up in a deer I stead of passing through. Bad part is they don't leave a blood trail. The good thing is you don't need a blood trail because it leaves a blood puddle. I do exclusively neck shots on deer unless they are on the move. Very confident in this ammo and most of the places I hunt are small places...5 acres or less. It's the best shooting factory load I can find in that Savage and also in my Dad's old Rem 742. I definitely like my Federal loads and then the Hornadys in other cartridges. I would like to try the Fusion 150 in my 06 sometime just to see how much difference there is. That’s why for heavy subsonic rounds you should go with the Lehigh defense all copper rounds with pre cut stress marks definitely reliably expands every time. And the deer season xp supersonic rounds definitely expand too even without the stress cuts on the round, I believe they’re 150grn too. A .300blk pistol is my new favorite way to go. That and my .308 Texan LSS air rifle that shoots both 111 and 150grn hp slugs which are great for headshots on medium sized game.

What I like most about the 300blk is that it uses handgun powder like H110, Win 296, & AA 1680 ; these powders are commonly used in 44mag and 357mag. The 223 / 556 uses medium burn rate rifle powder like CFE 223, H335, & Win 748. As you may guess rifle powder requires a longer barrel to completely burn, leaving it to be extremely thunder clap loud, and great velocity loss in a shorter barrel, ie. 22" and less. The 300blk on the other hand gains velocity in 12" and greater barrel lengths and isn't quite as loud, with very similar energy's. The 300blk was designed after the old 300 whisper with slight chamber mods to accommodate brass being formed from a 223 / 556 case. It was created to be quiter and effective out to 200 yrs, and it does it's job quite well. As always luv the channel, luv the content. Keep on Who Tee Who....

I looked at 300 BLK and it's basically still a wildcat until some big agency adopts it. May as well get the 7.62 x 39 mm upper instead.

Another great comparison video , thank you! My vote is for .223 for deer hunting without a suppressor. .223 has the edge in velocity & energy to 100 yards, and way more velocity/ less bullet drop beyond that. .300blk definitely has the edge when a suppressor is used at short range. I cleanly took a mature blacktail with .223/ 64gr soft point at 30 yds. Went straight through, taking out ribs, lungs. Deer ran 20 yds

I'd like to see the Savage cartridges! You've done 223 vs 22-250. Now we need to see 6.5 Grendel vs 250 Savage and 300 Blackout vs 300 Savage.

I built a 300BO upper for hunting deer and hogs. I like the idea of 125 - 130 grain bonded core soft point at about 1900fps as a deer/hog round. My problem with 223 @ 3000fps is the projectile is most likely going to frag upon impact. The projectile is too small and too fast imo. I prefer a larger bullet in the 300BO.
