I once worked in an office where every new employee was given a small canvas to paint. They were displayed in a long hallway. With so many people coming and going at Project Camp, it would be nice to have each person make a plaque or sign that gets hung up somewhere. They could include details on what they worked on during their stay. It would be a nice community building idea.
The problem is not evaporation. You can atually kill the roots if you watter durring a verry hot day (you pretty much boil them). I actually killed quite a few plants both at home and my grandmother's garden until she told me to only watter during early monring or eavning.
This felt natural, ha ha, and it was so nice to see how comfortable everyone was in front of the camera ... Best thing I've seen on a channel like this for a long long long time. Great idea, big fun!
Plugged in the charger to the cork wood , the "HI DAD" block of wood and the banana in the glass that he casually drinks from... lol weird.. anyway love seeing the video done in one continuous shot .
This was one of my favorite videos so far! Seeing the actual walk around made it so much easier to understand the layout and how it’s structured currently! Fun to see everyone’s random interactions with the camera also!
Just an FYI. Try laying a tarp(s) down and throw the cut bush and tree debris on it then drag it to the open space rather than making lots of wheelbarrow trips. Depending on the situation of course. Well done with clearing the land to make it more usable. Very interesting channel. Thank you :-)
Our Monday dose of Project Kamp gives us a jolt of energy, enthusiam and hope for the future that will get us thru the rest of the week. You're the antidote to the tsunami of crap that is the hallmark of the modern world. Love the sense of spreading out from Base Camp into the living ecosystem and creating paths to each piece of infrastructure. The Sketchy Ruin has a lot of potential, and it has already survived a previous forest fire. Seems very smart to restore it to ongoing usefuless with an eye towards a renovated, somewhat fireproof structure. A pleasure watching the whole community at work. Well done people!
What a beautiful spontaneous video tour about the property and the staff projects that are being worked on. Also funny that you use a spoon as a microphone holder. :🙂 I always like to use things that work great, but were not originally designed for. 🙂
I loved this video, one of your best. It confirms the addage that content is king! The one take walk-through must've taken some organising. You've inspired me to try the same with our community workdays.
I look forward to your weekly videos. This is a grand idea for those that are free to come and go. You learn so much from you all. This is a wonderful project.
Would love to see more of Ted! You all do such good work on the land, the learning process must be challenging but greatly rewarding. How I wish I could go and lend a hand.
Amazing video! Always wondered how big the land would be by walk. So jealous of your project. Hope this channel helps me to get the inspiration and information I need.
All I see in each and every video is dreamworld haha, you guys are just amazing for sharing your journey, one day when reality allows my escape I will be following suit for sure! All the best guys :)
Absolutely love these guys! I love the way the one shot setup and you can tell it is awkward for everyone but in a funny way. It's as if they are holding back their laughs from how awkward everyone is on camera.
Great video :) A good temporary measure for the shipping container is adding 1-2 large shades across the top with gaps (needs to cover entire roof to edge). May also be worth installing an extractor on the side.
You guys make me smile - and given the state of the world, that is a very good thing. Thank you! (and 'I already have a spoon' will stay with me for a while 🤣)
On the whole project: Just WOW!!! My deepest respect! This is the most useful thing to do at these times!!! What I appreciate is the role model you are producing with all the personal and scientifical documentation. Thank you so much for that! This is the real life science we need so much which I hope will become more and more to make living on planet earth sustainable and enjoying for everyone in harmony in symbiosis with nature. Concerning the watering, a steady dripping system would be the best way to keep the soil wet without needing to do a lot watering by hand which is alot of work and isnt really as effective as the dripping system. Less water needed, less work to do, plants grow better and faster. Wish you all the best and that progress is continuing as awesome as it is right now. Definitely found a new series to watch, am curious how season 2 ends and looking forward to what season 3 will bring. 😁
Do you have any clay on the property? Those mimosa trees you have so many of make for pretty good supports for a clay-based wall or roof; they're thin enough that you can pack clay arund them, and thick enough to hold some weight without sagging too much. Look at the huts they make in Africa , plenty of those use even thinner trees.
This is so amazing, I'm crying because this is my dream, to have a community of people on a plot of land and we all work and clean and cook and eat and learn and build and talk and do everything with each other. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for showing me that my dreams are possible and attainable. Salud!
Great video, loves the concept and Daves' pitching. One thing to note: when exporting the final video file, make sure youtube doesn't compress the bitrate too much. we had some artifacts in this video
You could set up a very easy irrigation system for your garden with flexi pipes and connectors to create a grid of pipe work and just poke holes in all the pipes.
I appreciated the little Easter eggs in the video haha drinking a Banana from a cup around the lunch table and a block of wood with "Hi Dad :)" in the workspace!
I don't know why, but it feels like Portugal has some good stuff. Perhaps this is Rita's best plant? :D Nice video and very nice progress on the camp. Keep it up guys.
