Great video Dan! I drove out to Colorado for vacation a month ago. I stopped at North Platte to visit the worlds largest railroad staging/service yard. Union Pacific's "Bailey" Yard. It was quite a operation with a tall visitor tower/visitor center. I enjoy the driving segments you put in too!
I live 30 miles west of Sioux Falls SD. I’ve been watching step deck and flatbed videos since I owned my own 4 years ago. Your videos are kinda interesting
It was nice to see the rain on your windshield. Here in south central Florida we can’t seem to get rain. Thank You for all the positive travel stories. Be safe and God Bless !! H.
There's something soothing to the soul in spending your days constantly looking towards the next horizon ... anticipating what might be over the next hill
i always stopped at Grand Island, Neb. use to be semi-small then it got bigger. it was a great place to stop, lots of space, never seemed to get full. even spent weekends there, if i got loaded early, and delivery was on a Monday. enjoyed my time there and the staff was very friendly.
Mrs T had a good point. Seems like Katy keeping a little busy. ⛽ Mileage is pretty good. We all have made mistakes. WON'T be the first and for sure won't be the last. SAFE TRAVELS 🚛💨💨💨💨
about the wallet, these days it be cheaper to figure out where one is going to be near a UPS store or FedEx/Kinkos and pay have them overnight it and pick it up there!
I drove a flatbed for about 15 years. About 12 years ago I picked up a load in Knoxville, TN going to Big Spring Texas. I arrive in Big Spring Texas and my customers address is wrong. There isn't a business by that name in Big Spring. I contacted our load planner and they had screwed up. My load was supposed to go to Big Spring,Nebraska, needless to say it had to be rescheduled. Be safe out there.
I left mine in the backseat of a KY dot car didn't know until I was in TN the trip just kept getting crazier as my friend and I continued to LA . We still get a laugh about that situation and the week that followed. YOU HAD TO BE THEIR JR. IF YOU READ THIS LOVE YA BROTHER
Never used to use truck stops or motorway services to park here in the UK, they’re horrendously expensive and next to zero facilities. We always parked (when possible) at customers premises.
Glad to see you and Bailey are doing well and you got to spend a few days with Teresa. Happy fourth of July to you and the family. Safe travels and I'll see you on the next video!
Another good video Dan KEEP ON TRUCKIN 👍 🇺🇲 🚛 🐘 I believe that is a M60 tank I drove one in Germany in 1970 and 1971 be safe and keep it between the ditches 👍
Truck is looking good. I did the same thing back in 92 and had to go back only 190 miles. I'm guessing about everyone has had to go back at one time or another if they've been trucking for several years. Stay safe and take good care of the little one.
North Platte nebraska I hauled mods outta Aurora Nebraska and stayed at Petro in york got that big ol steak and taters everytime best place to stay very well kept truck stop unlike most places
Another great video ST Dan. Very familiar with your last stop there in Grand Island-stayed at Motel 6 there on a couple of occasions next to Bosselman Travel Center.
That little kubota should be about 1/3 of a gallon an hour just humming along not kicking up. If it's a 4 cylinder it would be more like a half gallon an hour.
My boss did a swap in 80s between me and his son to see who got better fuel mileage in the same truck and I won and still got my load there on time only different from me and his son was I had three years more experience driving I learned my lesson earlier faster you go more fuel you burn
My wife left her purse in a rest room in North Carolina, we drove about 75 miles before she noticed it was gone. Back we went, a nice lady had turned it in so everything was OK.
Only yesterday I needed to make A change on my debit card, so I drove over to the bank to do that, and when I arrived, I reached for my wallet and realized that I had left it at home. I ended up making the Bat turn and going back after it. Luckily It was only about A 4-mile trip back, for me. Enjoyed your video.
Hey Dan. Love your videos. Of all the yrs i had my CDL I loved hauling equipment the most. You are correct on what you call those machines but even closer they are crack sealers. When I worked for Kansas DOT we had one that looked almost identical to the orange ones to seal the cracks in the highway and then we would put a little sand on the tar. I really like your current truck. That sleeper is to die for. You and baily have a safe trip buddy.
Dan, tell Katie you need a partial when the Denver drop comes off. As long as it's going in the general direction, it's extra revenue. Also, never be happy about your fuel mileage. Always be trying to improve. You've slowed down and you're holding 1400 and you've gone from 5 to 6.4. Now, run 1250, keep the turbo boast at 12 lbs, and watch the mileage go to 7. Not impossible for a 550 6NZ, and calculate the savings compared to 5 mpg. It will make you smile. Keep the deck loaded. Nice looking step that passed you, but what's his revenue per mile?
Good video Dan glad you were able to spend time at home also do you anti siphon device on your gas tanks I hear there’s a lot of truckers getting ripped off
Awe heck ya came through Raton Pass? or did ya come through Boise City Ok? Either way you were in Pueblo/COL Springs….That truckstop Commerce City always busy I-25/70 meet. I live about 25 miles from I-25 west of Pueblo. Nice step deck/truck passes ya at 12:40 of video. Safe travels….Would have liked to scene ya go by in Colorado… Be safe great fuel economy my friend……JB
Always enjoy your content!! Question, do you do all of the maintenance on the truck. Like oil and filter as well as fuel filter changes? How about tuning the engine? Thanks for posting and safe travels.
