Oh the fun of a 5R55W. This transmission was a fun one to open. While a P0741 can be a fun code to chase, it wasn't in this one. The final result of finding a leaking pump gear was a fun one to find. Thank you for watching.
Great explanation. Thank you for sharing your experience! This brings back memories of when I rebuilt my 5r55w out of my 02 Explorer years ago. I had a sheared off servo pin in the case bore. I attempted to rebore my self using a reamer in a drill along with a drill guide I machined myself. Bad idea using a drill. I destroyed the servo pin bore in the case itself. Luckily I rebored using a adjustable hand reamer and inserted a sleeve and then a new brass servo bore. I think the servo bore failure is common with these. I did the other servo bore with a brass insert as well. Still driving good after 10 years. Just rebuilt the motor over the winter. Beats a car payment.
I done a 4r44e effort and the od sprag was broke. I put a new one in and the truck still done the same thing. Pulled it back out and apart to find I put the sprag in backwards
Hello sir! my 5r55w transmission has a problem when it goes into gear D and R the engine speed drops and the engine feels heavy and when the car is running loses 3rd gear what should I fix? Thank you
@@expressautotransmissiondav4207 I have disassembled and replaced the ID band OD Band ID Servo and OD Servo and Full Valve Body and Solenoid Pack but the problem is not fixed.
@@expressautotransmissiondav4207 Component parts that cause problems if the D and R positions of the engine idle speed are down and the problem is incorrect gear 3
@@expressautotransmissiondav4207 The cause of incorrect gear 3 and the idle speed that goes down and the engine seems to want to die. I've also changed the touch converter
