Sweet. It is soooo much better. I am going to paint mine to match the car. LOL...Should have done it for the video. Just be patient when winding the spring. It can be a issue with some people because the board can move. If you try it and it does not work, leave board out, wind it, then put the board in. You will have plenty of room if you stop at like 1 /2 to 1 3/4 rounds. Then just slip the board in. Thanks for watching
Big SHOUT OUT to Pete D. for making this video ! Here's a TIP - if staying with the supplied key, tape the removeable upper portion of the fob to the fixed backside. This way you can lift up the upper portion to provide enough room to insert the (PCB) printed circuit board without having to go thru the hassle of unwinding & rewinding the key spring when replacing the upper portion. Just insert the PCB, remove the tape , press the upper portion back into place. EZ PZ Also, if you don't have any needle noise pliers you can insert two thin screw drivers into the opening to force open the factory fob.
I've tried everything to get this thing open. I also realized that your video faded out when you're tung to open the original. I've pictured my thumb trying to get the original keyfob open and I've almost destroyed it. This thing seems invincible.
They are tough for sure. Some more so than other. If the pliers do not work take two skiny , long screw drivers and stick in the hole. And pull them opposite ways......Just do it in a bucket or something so you are not hunting parts for a week. Thanks for watching
I switched everything even the computer board but some reason it doesn’t open or lock also when I changed the switch blade the pin to the new one didn’t fit on the cut switch blade and is skittle loose
7:10 This sure did not work with mine! Finally came apart in about 150 pieces. I used a 12" pair of needle nose and it would not split. Had to cut and hack with wire cutters and pliers until the PC board finally came out. went in the new one in less than a minute and works great. The next one I'm going to dremel the sides all around
If you are replacing the whole key then you would need to reprogram the fob....I have several videos on how to do that. But in the case of this video all you are doing is using an empty shell and swapping over the internals from your old worn out fob. Thanks for watching
Any suggestions for me , I bought this and did the whole process to change everything over to the new fob, the buttons aren’t working besides the trunk and alarm button.
@@CamaroTime i'll try it out see if I can assemble it with out moving anything, The weird part is that all buttons click and out of all 5 buttons the only ones that function are the trunk, and alarm button. I tried to program it already with the key in the ignition and no luck yet.
@@CamaroTime we'll my ace couldn't cut horizontal keys... so I can't get mine cut cuz the dealers near me don't have a key cutting machine apparently..
It took me 2 hours to find out that you can’t switch out the old switch blade. Nope. The pin that holds it is a different size and the switch blade won’t work :)

Is it a factory style replacement or the mod? If it is the mod you may have to take back a part and make sure the board did not move during assembly. Thanks for watching
@@CamaroTime thanks for this video the remote works great.it even has a more premium feel to it.the only thing i did different than you was i used a piece of tape at top of remote to keep it from unwinding the spring.so i didnt have to completely take top off and rewind spring.
I honestly have not checked what the factory one is.....The new one is just a shell that you swap over the insides of the old one to the new one. Thanks for watching
