My thoughts: So this MCC 23’ is a interesting one; these bands are clearly better at one that that’s the other ones weakness. State did a good job of projecting and playing with a little more color; but A&M played with more control and had way way way better blend. The books were equal for what was presented. If you look for power and raw energy state is your band, however if you want balance blend and control then A&M is your band here. I somewhat think state is the slight better ensemble but they percussion and trumpets struggled here; however A&M mellos and somewhat trumpets at times sound young and still learning how to attack to mmw standards. I have it a tie but it’s like a 51/49 lean ASU….. AAMU: 2 1 1 2 2 1 = 9 (tie) ASU: 1 2 2 1 2 1 = 9 (tie)
State is good. But, they're too COMPARTMENTALIZED. They don't blend. You have to sound like a cohesive unit. ASU sounds like each discipline is competing. bones v mellos. winds v crashers (cymbals). snares v quads. I charge $20k for this. in the old days😂
Percussion goes to A&M. They sound the most like a drumset. Trumpets: State Bones: A&M Mellos: State Snares: State Quads: A&M Winds: A&M Tubas: A&M Arrangement: State Discipline: A&M Blend: A&M

I marched at AAMU, and I gave 5th to ASU. Now, State have better bones and tubas. AAMU band just need a band stuff that will really care about the music. They don’t sound bad. But, it’s time for new leadership.
Break Down from a horn player: all arrangements were 7.5+ from both bands. Dancers always fye in my eyes 😂 A&M Drum majors were more instrumental in the battle *pun intended Brass volume 9 ASU 7.5 A&M Tubas go to A&M Melody clarity 7 ASU 9 A&M Woodwinds hand more presence on the Maroon side as well so Balance goes 7 ASU 9 A&M Crowd participation goes 9 ASU 7 A&M And my deciding factor for the overall dub to State is the goosebumps i get when hearing a song which is 9.5 ASU 6.5 A&M Go Bulldogs though!
Ok~ ok~ ok... I love both teams, both captains are strong. But this is round 2 & this is unbiased. It was like tit for tat. ASU did one & one stands & then AAMU came thru with their one & one stands. But then The HoneyBeez did a collab with Stingettes & it was finitto bc The Divas already did their stand routine of the night. They showed their hand too early. So yeah... 🖤💛🐝 🤫
Let’s not get it twisted this really wasn’t a competition. Divas mopped the floor with them. 😗 the mere fact that they NEEDED the bees for impact is telling.
Man I’m not gon lie for y’all that keep saying A&M won y’all so delousional ,, they don’t have half the sound asu bring to them , ASU tubas top 3 in swac , hornes and btones louder and clearer than A&M , and A&M trumpets sound like a high school and ASU’s
