This is such a beautiful way to teach this lesson to kids. Old vs new, rule keeping vs sacrifice; the 4 things to remember: 1 do what I am doing, 2 love others, 3 stop holding back God's love because He loves you more than you can ever imagine, and 4 stop putting yourself first - ask God to give you a Clean Heart ❤️ This is SO attainable for kids to understand and attain. Thanks Keith, my FF class will be grateful for information that finally is simple to do 😊

You've given me a lot of hope for myself; not because I was ever fallen away; as imperfect as I am I've always known God's love for me, but I've often, and stll do doubt if I AM doing enough...and sometimes I wonder if the things I have done were good because of the doubt if it was enough...please pray that in the future that whatever I do; as long as it is with love and sacrifice for God; that this is good...Serious question; have you ever thought about being an ordained permanent deacon?!?!? I know my dad; who was an ordained senior deacon till the day he died; would smile down from Heaven because such a good man like you would be joining their ranks....

Rule-keeping mindset vs. Sacrificial mindset: 1.) Rule-keeping makes the focus on external behavior; whereas sacrifice is about the heart. *We can't truly sacrifice oneself with a selfish mindset. **Sacrifice is all in. 2.) Rule-keeping leads to self-righteousness when we succeed; whereas sacrificial covenant requires humility. 3.) Rule-keeping leads to self-righteousness when we fail or made mistake; whereas sacrifice leave no room for shame because it takes the focus off ourselves. *Shame is one of those weird things that happens to us when we're completely self-absorbed because all we're thinking about is how I don't measure up, how I'm not good enough, how I didn't meet the standard. 4.) Rule-keeping is complicated because it opens up to justification, interpretation, and control; whereas sacrifice is simple because we just give up oneself. Practical ways to sacrifice out of love: 1.) Loving and trusting God more. *A call to sacrifice is ultimately a call for your good. 2.) Love others. *Rule-keeping leads to scorekeeping. 3.) Stop holding back. *Laying yourself down for others (don't hold yourself) is addicting (once experienced the joy). 4.) Stop fixating on yourself and how you're doing with the rules. *Focus on one's heart, and then ask the Lord to create in you a clean heart. **He sacrificed for us, and He's called us to sacrifice ourselves for Him and for others (and may we do so). _________________________________ Thank you as always, Keith. Im new to this Catholic readings but I just notice that the lent reading for week 5 of lent is readings of Ezekiel psalm 130 ROM and John. Why is this video not the same? Just curious
